I just found your video today. Very detailed. Thank you. I have purchased the same capacity controller It came without any cable and I am blind now. Please help me to get up and walk. I want to use this for my 4X 3.2 v lifepo4 batteries. How do I get a cable and how do I connect my lifepo4 batteries and capacity controller Thanks a lot for your time for coming to help me 😊
Fantastic, I ordered one because they seem like the same price as a beer now. But wasn’t sure how it worked . Now just gotta be patient for the mail service.
Hi great video very helpful I’m looking to fit one of the small alarm monitors in my rc plane once the battery volts are set when you put a new battery in the plane will the monitor still remember the alarm settings or do you have to reset after every battery change I only ask as I might have to mount the alarm away from the battery connected by a brace cable hope you can help John
I agree with you.The capacity controller works like a fuel gauge in your car.The voltage alarm only gives voltage readings of each cell. But,it's good as a low voltage alarm in the model.
I recently got the Digital Battery Capacity Checker after seeing this video and this device can even balance the lipo battery cells by pressing the Type button for few seconds and selecting the which cell to balance. Definitely a useful visual device and better than that crappy loud beeper. Thanks for the useful information and definitely must for those who use lipo Batteries in RC Toys, Gel Blasters and Drones
Have this 2 items work good..small one use only as an Lipo alarm..the checker got downside no balancer mode.. for their price its reasonable..great explanation mate!
I use both testers with my quad. Be careful with the small one. Position it also with the LCD facing your pack. Had a hard crash(it dropped from about 50m) n the pins on the back under the instructions pearsed through itsown heatshink n two layers of heatshink I put on the pack. But both worth every cent. Thanks Matt. Great video
at 8:10 Your manual for the Capacity Controller appears to be better, mine says: "NEW Balance Function: Long press the first key, LIPO/LIFE/LIIO will blink, says it is in balance, balance process according to the second button can view each battery voltage, balance is take the batter in the lowest section as the benchmark to discharge balance" (I'm here because I wanted to see how the "balance function" works haha)
For Airsoft players who uses AEG guns, I really recommend this because if you dont know if your battery is full or not it would be bloated or lost in Capacity
Hi Matt I also have one of the GT battery checkers and they are perfectly ok but not as accurate as the Celldiag 6, high accuracy alarm battery indicator. I did a test with both of the above by checking them on a pro battery charger and the Celldiag 6 was much closer to the true voltage. They are a little more expensive but worth it when you consider the investment of what you are flying. Happy New year and happy flying.
Should I spend the 8$ on hrb brand one just like that G.T. Power or 2$ one from China? I'll probably get the black one with lcd screen for 8$ on Amazon
Howdy fella, maybe make an adaptor lead to a 2s connector and connect the + wire to both the positive wires? Or just fly the model til lit falls out of the sky and then you know it's flat and couple probably do with recharging 😁
One thing to add, the one bigger battery checker you used does not show individual battery cell life status, that is the only glitch, I bought a Venom battery lipo checker and it can read and show each cell status so you know if an individual cell is over charged or low on charge which can lead to battery swelling & failing
I don't know about you but my one (Battery Capacity Checker) shows individual battery capacity and charge for each cell. I brought it from AliExpress recently and this video is few years old. Maybe the Chinese implemented the feature or your one is old model I think
I got several of the small ones and I own a Turnigy brand of the large one. Also I own two multi meters. Problem is that I get a different reading from them all. Don't know for sure which is accurate or not.
this are two different testers/alarms.the small one fits into a car or boat ;when one of the cells go low it start beeping. i dont see you driving /navigating with the big one in jour plain or car/boat
Matt, take a look at the ISDT BC8S battery checker!!! Talk about cream in your coffee, it does everything and has beautiful real digital displays, is much smaller than the big capacity checker that we all have been using. Really, go watch a video on it and then buy yourself one and figure out a way to put it on a lanyard around your neck or similar method to keep handy. Next week you'll be putting up a video on it. Cheers, Tom
Matt, "over $30" I don't know where you buy stuff like this, but on your own Bangood Affiliate Link it's GBP 15.94, or US $ 19.99. You really going to dismiss the thing so quickly? www.banggood.com/search/isdt-bc-8s.html
@@RagTheNutsOff Good to hear :) I trust the bigger ones but the smaller ones are a coin toss imo. When i plugged in a battery the other day the small one was showing a whooping 0.1 V more than the bigger one. Strangely when i plugged the battery in for a couple minutes and tested again with both, they were showing the same Voltage.
Howdy Stephen, see any of the S800 videos here ua-cam.com/play/PLgoM4-umzSqcSRZibaI_HlEch1XtoVbIc.html for the setup I used. I'm normally pretty good at detailing the setup's used for each model in the video description, Matt
Hi Matt, They are very good, but there's an even better version for fixed wing flyers, called CellMeter8 which has an inbuilt servo tester as well as discharger/balancer and does 5 chemisty types, around same price, looks same but it's blue. Cheers
Alasdair McC The 150w discharger module is really useful for getting part charged lipos down to storage fairly quickly. Works faster than my sc620 for discharging..
These small testers units are not accurate as always faulty sometimes totally defective just out the box .... I ordered two on these model bx100 from banggood Looks like one is showing faulty voltage , and other one is totally defective out the box !! I contacted banggood waiting for replay may the send me new ones And I uploaded videos in my channel wall showing all that . Nice video anyway mate .
Those things are crap. Very inaccurate. Usually, here is a reading difference of 0.1 to 0.2V which is huge in my book. The best thing you can do is to use a decent volt meter to measure the voltage of each cell with a home made two pin cable. Some of those types of readers are decent but they cost 40+ bucks. Why not buy a 70 buck multimeter to measure accurately voltage, resistance and current of not only your battery but also stuff in your house as well !?
Because we can't fly with big (and accurate meters). These small testers are designed to use only during discharging process in rc model/car, they are not designed as desktop meters.
3.8 is 1/2 charge if your alarm is set at 3.5 and your full charge is 4.1 or so. You don't need those fancy modules if you can add and subtract. Jeez, you make it sound like calculus. 3.0 per cell is damage time, don't let your battery EVER get below that or it can be ruined, even during high throttle flight. Too much tech crap can spoil all the fun of just flying.
I bought the simple alarm because on my battery it has led's to indicate me if it's flat or on 20%, 30%, 50%, 70% or 100%. Btw the brand is called Hacker. It's a german brand just saying.
I just found your video today. Very detailed. Thank you.

They're both great to have for completely different purposes. One in the plane and one in the flight box.
I have both types but the battery tester does'nt work on 1S, I use the alarm for testing 1S bats along with a voltage/charge level chart.
Fantastic, I ordered one because they seem like the same price as a beer now. But wasn’t sure how it worked . Now just gotta be patient for the mail service.

What percentage is good to have the batteries in storage mode
Have this 2 items work good..small one use only as an Lipo alarm..the checker got downside no balancer mode.. for their price its reasonable..great explanation mate!
I love your accent bro and your video, I am in the process to buy both device thanks
Nice video I just purchase this product today thanks for sharing👍👍👍👍

Love heatshink too
Okay I'm runner up number two! I have been using both of those Checkers for quite a while and love them both!
Morning Jim, same here they both come in useful, Matt
Hi first time owning battery I noticed the wires are not just black and red
On the battery in the video are the black wires the ground

Exactly I was saying the same thing and brought it from AliExpress recently
Did you test the new one on a micro meter same as the old one?
So what percent should a storage charged battery be at mate 😀
These capacity testers are a must have for anyone who is into FPV.
You can discharge all those different type of batteries too right?
You answered all my questions. Thank you!
Can I check battery cycles with the Capacity Controller?
Hi Matt

RagTheNutsOff apreciated! CHEERS
Try flipping your battery upside down and connecting that way.

good information. Hey, Can we set low voltage alert in that Big Black one (G.T POWER) tester too?
this are two different testers/alarms.the small one fits into a car or boat ;when one of the cells go low it start beeping. i dont see you driving /navigating with the big one in jour plain or car/boat
All so works as a servo tester!!😁👍👍💯
@ragtgenutsoff Hey, Can we set low voltage alert in that Big Black one (G.T POWER) tester too?
bought one:there a must have .. :>).. luv it!
The large one can't read a 1s battery for Whoop flyers but I too have both.
He do you put a small tester and alarm in a plane that is 1 cell.
2. At what percentage is it
unsafe to put the plane back
in the air.

Or this www.banggood.com/ISDT-BG-8S-Smart-Battery-Checker-Balancer-Receiver-Signal-Tester-Quick-Charge-Function-p-1177825.htm
Howdy Tom, yea you see the price too? Over $30 for a glorified battery tester, I'll be sticking with my cheapo on :D
Matt, "over $30" I don't know where you buy stuff like this, but on your own Bangood Affiliate Link it's GBP 15.94, or US $ 19.99. You really going to dismiss the thing so quickly? www.banggood.com/search/isdt-bc-8s.html
Howdy Tom, yep I am, I have the one shown in the video which has worked well for me, why would I need another? Matt
You can Get to the menu if you hold in cell or mode button
When the alarm goes off does it also cut off the power?
Nope
Would be dangerous ;)
How could I connect an on/off switch to the digital alarm? Thanks
Hi Mario, thats not how they work. Do to something like that you would need a PWM switch and hook up your own buzzer or hack an existing one. Matt
RagTheNutsOff , OK thanks
you could connect a relay where the buzzers are so that when the alarm goes off it switches the relay
Probably!
How can i know if my tester is accurate ? Only if i got a multimeter to compare ?
Howdy, it'll be close enough not to worry about it. Matt

Aaaaaaaaaaaand I just bought one.... hopefully it comes in handy
I prefer that new blue one with servo tester... But on field I usually use black one.
Howdy Uroš, yea my first one had a servo tester, never actually used it, but it was there. Matt
Howdy Matt! Just received my first wing today, s800 sky shadow. Haven't decided what components to put in it yet, any thoughts?
Stephen Reid just recommended parts on the bg page.

Can 2 or more of the CellMeter8 be connected in parallel to balance the cells faster?
Thanks! I saw the GT Power doesn't ship from USA so that CellMeter 8 is perfect. It better work. :p
But does it go to 11 ?
He do you put a small voltage and
alarm tester in a plane that hold a
1 cell battery.
Errr I have no idea as of its 1S then it's tiny. Matt
Very cool nice info this battery tester.
THE BEST VIDEO ON THIS SUBJECT - thank you!! 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈 Is it possible to damage by plugging in the wrong way round?? ✅
Howdy, not that I know of, I've plugged mine in backwards many times!
RagTheNutsOff Awesome! Thanks Mat 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nope it doesn't damage but I won't putting it for long time
Thought I'd lost mine too, HK had none in stock, couldn't find it on BG.
Found it again :D
Phew!
Interesting for you to know Fe is Iron in the periodic table. LiFe
Howdy Sam, yep, but "Li-feee" has a better ring to it than "Li-Iron" :) Matt
Many Thanks

I mean they're not their. Ha
What's with the coffee chat? I have not seen you in two weeks!
No RC CC. Went flying instead! (5pm in New Zealand).
Yay.
Thanks Matt. No FOMO withdrawal angst for me. :-D
Jim Clark That's right, see the Facebook group
How accurate is that battery tester? Those small battery voltage alarms are not that accurate.
Hi Mike, pretty close and enough for the flight line to rule in or out the battery from being used again, Matt
RagTheNutsOff Thanks
Two different products for different purposes. "Better"??
gREAT, tks
It’s not rocket science look at each cell voltage the should all be even if not for sure u have an issue with either low battery or bad battery.
👍👍👍
Those little ones are very inaccurate...
Dobemandan Yea my white one is way off, however the new black one is only a tad out, which is happy days, Matt
Matthew Ogborne. Question is which way is it off and is it consistent. Consistent is acceptable as long as it is calibrated and known.
I'll make a video on it when I can Joshua :)

its called a battERy not a batree

Sir please I need some help 🙏🙏
