I’ve built an entire campervan from scratch over the course of a year and averaged about 100 views in total… best get myself a woolly dress and start sanding!
That table saw setup cost more than my first house. 1000,000 bf of wood available, more quality tools than any shop I've ever been in, so clean, so spacious, and no one else in the way, this shop is the wet dream of every woodworker, oh yeah, and so is she!
The skill and precision cuts and measures. Love how she gets down and dirty without any prissy sissy “Oh my God I broke a nail” type stuff. I can truly learn and actually remember the steps very clearly. Thanks Wood Girl!!!
Ok so I already saw comments on safety glasses so I won’t mention that, what I did fail to see is anyone mention how you use the fence and the sliding table in conjunction wich is a high risk of kickback! If you want repeated cuts then back the fence off a little and use a spacer block that releases before the wood hits the blade. You only want the fence up against your work if you have some sort of push stick behind the wood between the blade and the fence to prevent kickback….. hopefully that was a clear explanation!! Keep up the creative work!!
Well, eye protection and ear defenders, yes. Plus, with regard to using the fence, it’s only for rip cuts, the sliding table has stop blocks which are used for repeated cross cuts - and it’s this that should be used. Every single thing in this video is an example of how to do woodworking dangerously. It’s awful.
I am a cabinet maker of near 30 years. I have never worked with someone in a mini skirt. I would probably go to work more often if the scenery was this great.

There is a lever on the back of the fence. When cross cutting like that pull the fence back so it's only used for the actual measuring. When the table is pushed forward the cut piece passes the fence can't be wedged and thrown back.
The pucker factor watching her crosscut that stuff was off the scales. I was literally crawling up the back of my chair. Can you report a video for demonstrating dangerous work habits?

When I first entered into a wood workshop ,the floor ,air surrounding environment was full of wood dusts and waste wood debris ,most of the workers wearing face mask , Goggle . This is the cleanes room I ever see due to every equipments with respective vacuum pumps everywhere .Good quality of healthy ' normal clean room ' ! Good job ,keep it up .
Sliding table saws let you slide the fence back as well so you don’t even need a spacer. Of course the other value of a sliding table saw is that you’re not behind the work piece so when it does kick back like it did, you don’t take one in the chest.
Must learn to use a spacer block when using the table saw for crosscuts! It prevents binding. Wish I could spend time with you in your shop. Hell if you want, I could just sweep up!

I have no idea how this ended up on my feed but I know why I watched it 2x. Not to mention that she is the best looking wood worker I have seen. Her skill level is off the chart since she doesn't need to wear eye protection nor foot protection just those sweat shop gloves she has. Points for the form fitting uniform and not baggy clothes to get caught in her machines. Right on this is my kind of work. Yeah I subscribed.
Apart from all the comments about the lack of safety and the kickback no one seems to have noticed that she took the timber straight off the pile with its raw edge and put it up against the table saw for the cross cuts which would mean every cut she made is going to be out of square. AND DONT GET ME GOING ABOUT HOW CONVENIENT THAT V NOTCH IS IN HER SKIRT

Hire a model - dress her slim - rent a woodworking shop - show her a bit of how to use the machines - get immense help from editing and a little help from the camera angles for slimness - be sure the put attractively slim thumbnails and there you have: WOOD GIRL! (With that dress while working, she definitely needed a shower after as saw dust may get into some sensuous places)

One of the first rules in working with cutting machines like the table saw is: DON'T WEAR GLOVES; She also didn't move the rip fence when she was cross cutting resulting in that kickback.
I've seen you trap the cutoff between the blade and the right fence on other videos also. Try sliding the right fence forward of the blade so the offcut has some where to go.
Absolutely. I was questioning what she doing before the kickback occurred. That's what makes sliders so good with the adjustable fences. Rookie mistake.

Hmmm. It might have been better to put each piece of wood through the planer in sequence, rather than changing the settings on each piece independently. While the filling on the dress is appealing, I couldn’t get pass the lack of knowledge. Would Rae have seen the 100 hours rebuilding a camper van.

When she first set up that saw first thing I said to myself “she’s gonna get kick back”. Don’t take your wood working tips from models that are LARPing.
Not supposed to be using the rip fence at all for crosscuts, kickback was caused by getting stuck between the fence and the blade, without the fence the blade probably would have just pushed the block to the side. Can be pretty dangerous. Also not wearing eye protection, and wearing gloves. I guess we can all be nitpicky, but a lot of unsafe things going on.

I clinch up when I see her make cross cuts like that. I have intimate experience working with those table saws.
That looks like a delta unifence and that's one of things I like about mine.

Always good to not wear loose fitting clothes whilst operating machinery.
Putting a small spacer board up against the fence that the board you're cutting would clear before it hits the blade would solve the kickback problem.

I've seen you trap the cutoff between the blade and the right fence on other videos also. Try sliding the right fence forward of the blade so the offcut has some where to go.
Absolutely. I was questioning what she doing before the kickback occurred. That's what makes sliders so good with the adjustable fences. Rookie mistake.

Hmmm. It might have been better to put each piece of wood through the planer in sequence, rather than changing the settings on each piece independently. While the filling on the dress is appealing, I couldn’t get pass the lack of knowledge. Would Rae have seen the 100 hours rebuilding a camper van.
You want to move the R/H fence back to just before the blade begins for safety and speed.

The kickback is due to the rip fence being beyond the blade. Retract the fence to be in front of the blade for crosscut work.
Not supposed to be using the rip fence at all for crosscuts, kickback was caused by getting stuck between the fence and the blade, without the fence the blade probably would have just pushed the block to the side. Can be pretty dangerous. Also not wearing eye protection, and wearing gloves. I guess we can all be nitpicky, but a lot of unsafe things going on.
