嵐が丘の音楽では、坂本さんが作曲したこの曲が最高だと思う。だが、これは映画であったためストーリーがジェットコースターに乗せられたように瞬く間に通り過ぎていったことが何とも悔しい。音楽はこのまま最低でも12時間を超えるドラマとして作り直されるべき。ラルフファインズもジュリエットビノッシユも好きな俳優だっただけに残念。それから、物語の最後、羊が二人の亡霊を避けて進んでいくのを羊飼いの少年が見て怖がったシーンがなかったのも辛い。これは、日本人でないとわからない感覚だけど。

Wonderful music! Very intense and sensible at the same time... Perfect to illustrate the love between Cathy and Heatcliff. Juliette and Ralph have the perfect chemistry and Ralph Fiennes is the only one pulling out this dark conflicted side so well!

In a great soundtrack, the mood of the audience is almost controlled by the music. Not only did this classic story have a great cast and cinematography, but when I heard the enchantment of the music, I had to know who wrote it. When I found out that the genius behind this music was Ryuichi Sakamoto, I loved it even more. What a talented human being! What a great movie!

The fact that wuthering heights isn't as celebrated as much as other romances is really devestating. It's classifed as a tragedy and too many people avoid it. Yes for the most part- it is a tragedy, but all ends well. I don't think I've ever finished the book (out of the four times I've read it) feeling sad. :/
I know...I've always avoided tragedies and only read Wuthering Heights because I ran short of other options, but I'm glad I did...
I love love love this book, but it is a tragic romance. Remember Cathy telling Nelly... "Take care not to smile at any part of it." I mean all ends... sort of well for Catherine and Hareton, but it's ultimately one of the most tragic love stories ever. But yea, should be read more.

Great actor, brilliant soundtrack , best version of this book. TOP 10 AMONGST MY FAVOURITE SOUNDTRACKS THAT INCLUDES BLUE LAGOON (LOVE THEME) , ORCA FILM , CONAN THE BARBARIAN, ROMEO AND JULIET (A TIME FOR US) , FREE WILLY 1, BRAVEHEART, ROCKY, KING KONG ( IN CENTRAL PARK), PAN S LABYRINT, AND OTHERS.
Ya... know Ralph & Binoche are great friends..They also did anther movie..God I forgot.. the one when Finnes was in hospital..the war..he never returned after having left her to get help..but it wouldn't end that same way but perhaps they also met in the afterlife I'd like to belive that..Kathy was cruel..but Heathcliff knew her soul..this movie goes beyond the original passionate,,I always wanted more & this movie gave me {us} Heathclifs genuine anger..justified!

The film would be the most perfect Wuthering Heights ever produced if only they had cast Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta Jones, Julia Ormond, Natasha Richardson or any of the other actresses who were considered instead of the very talented, very beautiful but very very French Juliette Binoche in the lead role.
Dude Juliette Binoche did an amazing job... Uma Thurman?? But I will agree, some of THE most BEAUTIFUL music I've heard. I love their love theme. Aaaaand I always cry (actually sob) at the end of the film.

I know it is 'main theme', but the only main theme mp3 I have found so far is the end title sequence, and it's not quite the same thing. i have tried converting this video to mp3, but the music quality is inferior. Any help would be much appreciated; it is such a stirring piece of music, it deserves to be heard in the best quality :)

yes this is the best version...and Sakamoto's music is even better....i came away with a rather black self centered and habitually cruel impression of Heathcliff that was not redeemed...much as we dont like to consider...children who are treated badly often grown into adults who treat everyone badly...
