Thanks so much. I received my iPhone 16 yesterday and spent yesterday evening and an hour this morning trying to pair my Starkey hearing aids. Your video was so helpful. I paired my hearing aids the first time following your instructions. Thanks for relieving my frustration!!!!
This fixed my problem - thank you so much. However, when I open the Starkey app it has often lost the connection to the hearing aids. I have to close/shut down the app (push the window up from the bottom and then sweep the window from the screen) and reopen it in order for it to find them again. Do you have a fix for this, so the app holds onto the connection to the hearing aids even when the app is minimized? Thank you again.
1. Make sure phone is hooked up to the latest IOS software, also make sure it's ABLE to have the new software such as iPhone 10s are struggling right now to do this. 2. Update all apps in APPLE to make sure you have the latest update. 3. Then do a restart (RIGHT BUTTON HOLD, VOLUME DOWN, UP, DOWN all together). That clears some stuff that it messing with it. Wait 30 seconds. 4. Now go to ACCESSORIES in SETTINGS and HEARING AIDS to see if the aids are showing up BLUE. If they are good, that's a great sign. 5. Now go back into MY STARKEY, and see if the hearing aids are being found pretty fast (I am assuming you have less than two years or so hearing aids). If they read, you are good...could have been a bit of a reset that's needed. If not, see your hearing aid person/Audiologist to have them do more reset of the hearing aids to get them to read. sorry!
I just recently learned from my sister that I could buy the new phone and AirPods for hearing impaired, but listening to your video it seems I can use my hearing aids. I have battery digital hearing aids from starkey, I downloaded the app and when I get home from work I will try pairing. I have iPhone 14 pro and iOS 18.0.1. Long story short, what does it do by pairing hearing aids to iPhone? Can I listen to music or answer the Iphone like I would if I had my AirPods in? Thanks
Hi dr. Young! I’m a lifelong android user and just switched to the iPhone today. I wish I knew this was a problem before I switched. What used to be a seamless and easy process is now impossible. I have Phonak aids and it looks like I’m going to have to wait for Monday (or even later! Who knows with seattle’s doctor shortage!) before I can listen to music or audiobooks with a phone again. It’s unbelievable that Apple felt bold enough to do this to people with hearing loss. I was impressed with the variety of accessibility features as I also have a vision impairment. But this is such a basic integration, and they put greed above accessibility as usual. Unfortunately since I have an android I don’t think your advice will work, but I’ll give it a shot in the meantime. I’m sure this video will help many who just discovered this issue though so I really appreciate you for bringing this to light. You’re doing the Lord’s work!
I did get mine working. But show that audiologist this message if needed and have them try it out. It’s really not that easy for you but your people should be able to do it.
I was able to successfully pair my Phonak Audeos to the 16 Pro Max and my Phonak app, however, I cannot receive calls through my hearing aids or stream music! 😭
Have they ever worked? If yes, then something is amiss and you might need your Audiologist to find out what's going on. If they have never worked for that, then again something is really wrong. It shouldn't be this way as far as I can tell.
@ no, I just got the phone a few days ago and worked for hours just to get them paired. Those two functions have yet to work. I have a call in to the Apple techs and an audiologist appt next week. Was hoping that you might know an insider hack for this 😀
I was able to do it using my ipad instead of another phone. Thank you for this, I was getting really frustrated because I got my new phone on Friday after the audiologist office was closed!! Thank you!🎉
Thank you, it worked first time, I am sure my audiologist will be pleased to hear (excuse the pun) about the solution. As you say an example of 'Bad Apple'. Thanks again.
I have Resound One, 312 batteries (Jabra version). IPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.x works great. I have iPhone 16 Pro Max on order, which will be 18.x. Should I cancel the order and wait a few months?
I just purchased my mother an iphone16. She has Unitron hearing aids. It paired BUT... she cannot hear the initial ring of the call. If she sees the call coming in and answers it, the Bluetooth connection kicks in and she can hear. Otherwise, she cannot hear the ring. I am not sure but I assume it is iso 18. I am now an hour away from my mother so I cannot verify. Is there anyone at Apple I can call? Have you heard of this problem?
You can't assume that she has anything more than ios 17 on her phone. My iPhone 16 had ios 17 on it when I got it. Updating to the newest software version which is now 18.01 (I think that's what they called it) should be part of the fix. The second part if that doesn't work is getting your audiologists at your mom's to reinstall the Bluetooth like I show on this video. Hope that helps!

You saved me countless hours of frustration. I had been on tech-support for two hours straight. This was a lifesaver!
Love hearing that!

It works or at least worked when followed to a T. Thank you removed a lot of frustration.
@@golcpl I love hearing that…if you would like and subscribe, that would be helpful.

@@artmaltman Since I was able to get this fixed, and there was a 18.0.1 fix (it doesn’t say if that was a bug fix), we might be OK.
@@HearingSolutionCtr Thanks! I will install the new iphone but not trade in the old one just yet.
