- The UST Singers Batch 2002 performing Elijah Rock by Moses Hogan at the Winner's Concert of the 2002 Festa Musicale International Choral Competition in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
HOLYYYYY CRAP!!! This is a very difficult song to perform with the biggest of choirs!!!!! This small choir not only did this song justice, they absolutely nailed it!
my favorite part
"Snake in the grass"
"He's a conjour"
"He's a liar"
"HAAAAALLELUJAH Lord!"
I love it!
What in the world?!?! This is absolutely the BEST version of this song I have come across. FANTASTIC!!!
That tenor run with “hallelujah lord” 💯
The Philippines has crazy singing talent.
I think Elijah himself was singing in the choir-it was that good.
How about I LMAO at your comment!!! I agree even though it was funny!!!!!!
The definition of perfection.
Thank You Lord for the gift of music and bestowing talents and skills to your people.
They got up a half step so the sopranos ended up hitting a high E flat instead of a D! And it still turned out better than the original format!!! Bravo!
Hey my cherokee name is Little Hawk! Lol
Philippine choirs are quite simply some of the best in the world. Great rendition, and not just any other rendition. They truly made it their own.
Exactly!
FINALLY!! I've found someone that did it right!!!!!!
I cry and get goosebumps everytime I watch this
I've watched them sing a bunch of other songs around UA-cam, had no idea they took on Moses Hogan... I love them. Excellent interpretation, especially considering this music and the culture behind it is foreign to them.
Yeah, this is by far the best rendition of this song. Since you liked this, try also MADZ' (Philippine Madrigals) interpretation of We Beheld Once Again the Stars (Rivedere le Stelle) @ European Grand Prix. Another mind-blowing interpretation.
Their passion for this music linked them to it's cultural background- music is truly the international global language
phenomenal... amazing control with dynamics!
they sing with so much passion and emotion . and that's what makes this soo great. not to mention the musicianship shown in the interpretation of the music and the performing of it
The first-ever UST Singers video I watched that made me fall in love with the group!
Me too.
That short tenor was THROWIN DOWN
For me, still the best rendition of Elijah Rock. Such a difficult song! They performed it so triumphantly!
What an amazing performance!! It is deeply moving when you see talented people sing at this level.
They sang that song!! Off the chain!!🎶🎵🌹
This is such a badass version of Elijah Rock. Awesome.
This was just perfect omg I've never seen it done this well
ONE OF, IF NOT THE BEST RENDITION!!!. . . THAT'S WHY THE WORLD CALLS THEM CHAMPIONS. . .
I already heared this song way back from ust singers but wayback i really dont know this song.. and now i know, bumalik akonpara sabhing sobrang ganda ng pag kakaknta! Superb! Dynamics, tonality and harmony!
The Best interpretation I 've heard so far, just Brilliant Congrats!!! This Choir is from the Philippines.... I am just in awe. .
OMG- Moses Hogan- heard from eternity- MAGNIFICENT!!!
no wonder, UST Singers is truly one of the best choir in the Philippines. and we are proud of you guys...
I get goose bumps EVERY time I listen to this
Why I went into music. To hear people perform with heart! Wonderful!!!
I was at an OMEA choir competition last night. My school was singing and I was in one of the choirs. Our acapella group sang this! To really appreciate this song you have to go see it live. Awesome awesome job!!!!!
This group shows the real power of the voice!
great! i used to sing in a choir to, but what these people do takes ages to get it so perfect. voices sound like they were born togetter! amazing
i love the creativity of the director in this piece!

grabi yung mga alto...the best..!!! this was the best interpretation of elijah rock ive ever heard...galing talaga...pati yung dynamics..:D
Now this is a product of very intense singing competitions in schools in the philippines... We might have a very small country but you can never imagine the kind of singing talents we have... and this is just one university!
magnificent!!! great altos and basses and that sop solo was heart wrenching!!
Bravo!
We performed this song in high school, and reading about Elijah brought this song back to my head.
Great sound for such a small choir--you guys really support it, and your dynamics are awesome!!! GREAT JOB!
Wow, the volume that you dish out was amazing. No one would expect a choir of that size to be so full sounding and just awesome by simply looking at them.
FANTASTIC sopranos.
i did this song in high school,
and we weren't even close to this choir.
amazing!
This is one of the few times on youtube that I wish I could give out more than five stars.
I've got CHILLS. I saw them in Montreux in 2004, simply amazing !!
Well done, Choir of Manila...Welcome...Blessings!
blown away, everytime i play this video, thisis the best version...recorded =] hope my choir can pull this off....
omg....i got chills hearing them....that was amazing
AMAAAAZING this version is longer than it is usually performed. They were holding some of those notes extra long. This was one of my favorite songs to sing when I was in my university's choir.
THIS is GENIUS!!!!! love this version. chills to the bone goodness gracious!
I love it! I loved it when we sang it my senior year (2010)... It is/was the best thing ever!
i LOVED it!
my choir is practicing this song right now, hope we sound at least HALF AS GOOD! lol
this was GREAT
WAH! Our choir almost made it with this piece...
I still am always returning to this link whenever i visit our own video. We look up so much to this group as much as we idolize them.
Hope you guys could look up also to our performance and leave some comments. We are in need of constructive criticism for we are still an amateur choir group.
This take on the arrangement has so many details in the emphasis and dynamics, and has such cool tempo stretches sometimes. This is a take that really really understands the song as a full narrative that is expressed so deliberately. God, what I’d give for a well-mixed professional recording of this
Wow that surprised me wasn't expecting such an awesome rendition
this is amazing. i love the dynamics. and speed !!! perfect.
my HS choir is practicing this song now....i hope to sound this great!!
this was beautiful..
They did an awesome job!!!!
im really proud of ust singers, and really proud to be one of them. how i wish i had joined this tour. but i can only choose one for my career, and i didn't ever regret my decision. but i still miss singing with ust singers.
Wow, Amazing...thats like the best version of this song ive ever heard....I love the expressions on the tenors faces, haha, great job!
:)!!!!!!!!! wow!!! I loved every decision the conductor made with this piece!!! It's so amazing when a choir and their conductor can truly take a piece of music and *own* it.
Jaw dropped!! that was friggin AWESOME!!
WORLD CLASS SINGERS. SUPERB PERFORMANCE!
I must say they were awesome I loved it deeply impressed
this song is amazing. the concert choir at my school sang this 2 years ago. it was awesome :)
Wow, that was very well done. Anybody who think otherwise needs to get their hearing checked! Well done, well performed, fabulous!

OMGGGGGG!!! THIS IS OUTSTANDING. I thought our choir did well...but this...wow i give PROPS!
wow, you guys BEASTED, BEASTED, BEASTED this song. i am now speechless.
They sang with their souls bodies minds and spirits- totally invested in the performance TUTTI BRAVI
I premiered this song at TMEA convention 1995 w/ Andre Thomas, he helped Moses Hogan with his career.Later, I knew him personally (via Miami)and saw his last concert with the chorale in San Francisco. This choral rendition is more interesting than most American renditions I've heard.Yes, they sound 'bigger' than Moses' Chorale but no one has come close to the authentic, haunting, extremely energetic, dark rich sound they had. Actually his chorale sounded double in size(including pianissimi)!
ahhh this is in olomouc!! truly beautiful city of about 90,000, so much going on with music there for a city of its size. i studied there in the summer of 2004 so this has special meaning for me.
awesome performance!
I remember when I taught Fidel basic conducting and voice. My student is doin pretty good right now with his choir. Even with lots of flaw but still worth hearin. Especially we re praisin God here
Oh man... Crazy... I've never heard Elijah Rock sung so perfectly... Man amazing, really...
3:15-3:20
OMG I have goosebumps!
gosh I jux love this song & choir. Supranos were awesome!
woooooh....that's just amazing! i wish, i could sing like that... really awesome!!!
Wow they did a great job!!!
I remember singing this in high school (a mostly black choir). One of my favorite songs. :)
This was an amazing performance. It gave me chills.
Um. This was perfect. I don't think any high school could top these WORLD RENOWNED singers.
AMAZING!! great blending!

i'll make sure that i will sing this song soon!
I AM FULLY GAGGED THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!
Outstanding job!
One of the best renditions I've ever heard....
oh wow! my highschool choir is singing this song for our chorus concert and it is insanly difficult. i hope we are as good as you! this was amazing!
There's a strong possibility that I'll be doing this in my high school Chamber Choir for our spring concert. Very cool....awesome performance in terms of technique, tone and dynamics.
I dunno if it swept it off my feet... but it was a very good performance. well done: keep up the good work.
I really like this performance!
It has a lot of power and energy!
The best by far....Hands down.... And I've heard the Moses Hogan Chorale!!!!!
I sang this song in chorus. I love it. :)
They are so good!

We sing this at our school and Im a first soprano there for I hit the VERY high notes in this music. I love it.. everytime I hit the high note or I hear it hit I get cold chills =]
