My aunt and uncle sold their house and moved to Oregon one week before the hill started to slide. I think the story in this video of the couple that just bought there home and then had it destroyed is the couple who bought my aunt and uncles house. It was so sad. I remember seeing their old house on the news as it was half down the hill. I have many great memories playing in that neighborhood at my cousins house.

Sadly, this is an area that proves you should take notice of the native tribes history and listen to them more. From what I understand, the local Cowlitz tribe referred to that entire area as moving mountain due to the land falling away without notice during winter months.

Had a very close friend who lived up there and lost her home. I eventually bought a home after working my entire life at the other side of the bottom of the hill. Ended up losing that house as well due to the slide and my house came completely off the foundation. It was horrible. They do NOTHING to help any of us and it should be illegal for them to allow buying and selling in this area. I had to walk away with NOTHING. such a heartbreaking experience.
