Potential alternative explanations to Plutarch’s: That Philip was on the autism spectrum. Many children are apparently normal in development up to somewhere between 18 months to four years. (The brain goes through major rewiring at this time.) Nowadays people are more aware of subtleties that can be overlooked during a child’s earlier developmental stage. Philip might have been seen as normal enough (for a boy raised in a palace) until age six or seven. Other possibilities are aggregating neural damage from seizures. &/or a metabolic disorder of the thyroid, pancreas or some mitochondrial encephalopathy (genetic, yet the onset can be as late as age 10.) Or being left with neurological damage after an infectious disease like measles.
Video idea: Gary, Indiana. Truly a microcosm of the collapse of the American Midwest, of white flight, and of government abandonment. I once mistakenly went for gas here on my way to Chicago and was pulled over by cops who saw my Canadian plate. They basically told me I should NOT be stopping at stop signs and that they would escort me to the highway. Creepy desolate town, burnt buildings, etc. .
Gary is really rough and you got really lucky to have the police escort you. I will definitely think about doing that if I decide to start covering modern cities again. I like the idea of covering Gary. I appreciate the suggestion Zac!

Hi, could you do a series on the Christian kingdoms of Nubia in modern day Sudan? I think we'd all love some African history. Edit: Given the current state of affairs in the country, maybe it would really do us some good to learn how Sudan got to where it is today.
I will definitely consider that. I find Makuria and Alodia to be extremely interesting. People don’t realize how recent Islamic expansion was in what we now know as modern day Sudan!
Ive always found it interesting and tragic that Alexander the Great,Caesar & Napoleon all had historically recognized sons that died as young boys,teenagers or young adults. Why did the army not flock around Alexander's son with Roxana? Is confusing! Maybe because she was not Macedonian? Man the Helenistic royal dynastic houses were brutal! No wonder Romans despised kings! Well done sir!
