    Hey lovely peeps. Forgive the slightly different video today, I hope you like it! Also forgive the random over exposure on the camera. I really do keep forgetting to put the ND filter on! Oh and yeah, I completely messed up the blur! Working on that!

    Nice one guys and girls!!! A mini Rebecca, just like Mum. Other burger and coffee outlets are available (thank goodness). That's a good railway mapsite, learnt a lot from that, nice and clear. Driven along that route many times and never realised what was the on the other side/under the bridge. Thanks Teach!! 👨‍🎓👍👍

    Great video with an amusing twist, academy award nominations next year? I grew up in Gillingham (even living down Station Road for a while) and as a teenager used to regularly catch the train to Salisbury on a Saturday so remember vividly passing the old station at Semley as it always had loads of tractor parts in the yard next to it!

    A little extra history / info for you. At 1:32, just before the bridge, you past a sign on the right for the 'Bob Blandford Memorial Hall'. Bob Blandford was Mayor of Wilton on several occasions.
    He was also a keen Scouter. Upon his passing (2004?), it was decided that the already planned replacement Scout hall would be named in his honour for the service he gave to the community.
    He used to live in the Wilton South station you visited at 14:27, until his death. I'm not 100% sure, but I think he moved there shortly after the station closed in 1966.

    Poor Rebecca - there's a song: Oh Dear! What can the matter be poor R. . . . got locked in the whatever - But her understudy is excellent. Pity you were so rushed it was an interesting video - most of the Abandonment was more like 'expunged' than abandoned. More please - great that you involved the children.

    You need to do a part 2 to visit the rest of the stations that you missed. Theres no way you'd be able to go to all 15 in 5 hours minus lunch break so only 4 hours really. You needed a whole day - 9am to 5pm.

Well done in getting your daughter to drive around for hours with you, looking at rail track, and where old stations used to be.Am betting that pocket money increases will be on agenda soon.You mention over exposure on the camera, absence of ND filter and blur, sorry! didn't notice, not that techy. Poor role for Rebecca, this time... Getting locked up. Instead, she could have informed the curious crowd about what's in her wardrobe, and where she got it. It's quite a challenge to dress up for both protecting her skin from thorny thickets and keep up her stunning elegance. For that's what it takes it if you happen to have a man who loves dearly to creep and crawl everywhere in search of industrial heritage. And then there is a frightening chance of being spotted by some of the nobelty on his lands, who turnes out to be a nice guy who has watched al lot of the ever more popular Whitewicks adventures. And then a valet will announce that "it would please his Lordship and her Ladyship if you would join them for dinner.... " And then.. Rebecca will clamp her hands and hiss: "Horror! Danger! Mayday!! What must I wear??" But.. Maybe Rebecca has already a small suitcase stored in a corner of the car.. For just that sort of occasions....
    Lovely lady, your wife.. Sometimes she reminds me of Emma Peel.

    I'm not normally a fan of drones, but you may want to consider using a drone to fly in to the sites of the closed stations if your drone flight laws allow it. Just be careful and don't let the batteries go flat while the drone is in an inaccessible place.

    • @pwhitewick
      @pwhitewick  5 років тому

      Yup we do have a drone and always try to use it when circumstances allow. 50m from road, rail and people pretty much ruled this video out though.

    Aw you missed the two best bits at Semley, the signal box and the Reliants, well except the Scimitar did have a show, the signal box is all complete exterior. If you ever see a mad beardy bloke driving around in a dirty yellow three wheeled Reliant lurking around old railway stuff that will be me as I do like old railway voyeurism and often go to Semley to see what's lurking about down there as I live one stop down in Gillingham. There is a campaign to reopen the station but further down the line a bit, it even got funded then bloody tories put a stop to it and the others that were so close to reopening in the area.
