Is everyone else out there in youtube land learning as much as I am? I learn just as much when he's in that fishing bunker as I do when he's on the water. I still can't believe you don't hav a tv spot schooling us fingerlings.

Sir, I need to thank you. City kid raised in Los Angeles by my endlessly working, waitress mother. My cousins didn't have a dad around either. We used to go fishing at this place called lake lake in whittier. All I ever caught was tiny blue gill. Bout the size of a golf ball. Moreover fouling my line.
I have learned so much from you. First time I went out caught crappi.
Your knowledge is absolutely priceless! Because of you I know that my family will never be hungry as long as fish are in the water. From my very soul, Thank God for You, and thank You for U😍😍

Love it Gene. i have very fond memories of catching Yellow Perch on Guntersville as a kid. I would love to see a dedicated Yellow Perch video again. Some ideas on best time of year, locations, and bait. Keep em coming!

I am new to North Alabama area and caught my first slab crappie last night. I have never had a freshwater fish cut up the way my crappie did. He came up top-water and started skidding backwards on top like a dolphin. These guys are the real beasts of the bream family. I would love more ideas on targeting crappie from shore. I'm down a lot of gear so a boat isn't in the works. Crappie is what I would like to target most; however, they seem best accessed from a boat that can target their cover and draw them out in the open. In natural cover they are hard for me to draw in from shore without getting tangled. Please Machine, more knowledge on Crappie from the shore! Their natural cover like Hydrilla and Millfoil are hard to fish.

Hey Richard! We went vertical jigging off some boat slips this morning on Lake Texoma. Ended up with about 40. I also put out a cat rod with some cut Bluegill and got a 20# Blue. And now I'm watching you catch crappie. I guess I'm crappie crazy. lol They were biting real light too. Most of the time you didn't know you had a fish on till you lifted the rod and felt some pressure.
Thanks for another great video and good luck to ya!

How could this video have any dislikes. I’m a young guy but i can’t stand watching the fishing channels targeting my age group, this guy reminds me of my grandpa and that’s exactly what i was looking for. Not some overly excited kid screaming at the camera. Great video 👍

Hey Richard, Mr Gene, I'm William Bill slick Willie from Texas, love watching ur videos, binge watch em back to back and my wife fusses at me, "why do u watch that show so much" then the song at the end comes on and she hates that song. I love the song and when you go crazy, one show u were going off in ur backyard trying to net flies with ur hat turnt backerds, my favorite part, but i like ur serious aspects where u show how to catch crappie, I've never been a good crappie fisherman. When i was a kid my best friend and his Dad would take me out on their boat, we'd anchor over some structure and catch em with live minnows all night, was good times, but i always fished for bass and ever once in a while I'd catch a crappie. I'd like to get as good as you as far as knowing what ur bait is doing where the crappie are, and what makes them bite. I can tell you've been doing this a long time. I'm also impressed with your patience in fighting a fish, I tend to horse them in which works until i hook a big one and then it doesn't. Anyway my only request is on videos where your keeping some fish, when you get a really big one, hold it up next to one of the smaller fish you have in the ice chest, its gard to tell the size, they all look the same size sometimes on camera. Love your channel, and remember, go fishing when you can, cuz its good fer ya. 🐟 🐟 🦈 🦋 🐟 🐢

Richard now I say WOOOO and I can’t help it…..it must be what the crappie do to fisherman when we catch them. I’m in the far northern part of South Carolina, about 45 minutes south of Charlotte, and the fishing this year hasn’t been as great as last year. I remember complaining about a slow bite one day when my father could still fish with me and he said “That’s why they call it fishing and not catching.”, well from now on when you leave tell Momma Sue you’re going catching because Richard Gene…..it’s like that guy is a fishing machine or something 😂

Very good day on the water RG. I can't help but wonder how you spilled your coke though. When you said "You gotta be kiddin' me" I had like 5 flashbacks in a row of my jig landing in a tree, my line tangling up in my reel, forgetting to put my pedal drive up in my kayak when I pulled it on the trailer, once on the water realizing I forgot my pliers and of course...spilling my coke.
