So the barat is the procession made of the grooms family and friends who travel to the brides home/venue. When they arrive the actual vows are done, the brides side provide a meal, and eventually the bride leaves with the groom to her new home. Sometimes people do wedding cake too. The drinks/snack stops are a tradition from the past where people used to travel by foot long distances with wedding processions. Also its increasingly common to have the vows done before hand nowadays in a separate nikkah ceremony. This was people are able to pack in more "new traditions" into the wedding day, like lots of choreographed photography for example.
Asian weddings in Asia are at another level , specially when they are wealthy . Goes on for a week”… the colours the outfits the food . All just awesome 👌🏻

That’s so cute and sweet when you say “Salam” and then “Pakistan zindabad”😂 Enjoy your journey and try learning Urdu, so you can pick up on what people are saying. (Even secret words😂) A respectable word for “White is “Angreez” ❤
@@nadlfc9653It doesn't matter if he's Scottish, American or Danish they all called Angreez in Pashto. Just like indians, Pakistanis, Bangalis are called Desi.
Loving the videos Callum! Keep up the great work. “Staring at the gora” was hilarious. You’re not alone there. It’s the same with British Pakistanis. The Salam’s you give are heart warming to hear. You’ve really jelled in well with the Pakistani/Kashmiri culture. You must try Pakistani weddings here in the UK. They’re just as lit and extravagant if not more than the Pakistani ones
Callum you’re still in Pakistan , you must be loving it while we are stuck in uk in the wet windy weather, good luck to you enjoy yourself, the drone is for the guy who is filming the wedding movie and yes the marquee’s there are beautiful ma’sha’allah ❤
Why would Alex say something so cringe? Going to get robbed? On behalf of Americans I apologize for what he said. Alex should do vlogs in St. Louis or Atlanta hoods where he would be robbed or worse! Go do a vlog at Applebee's in the suburbs Alex. You obviously have zero culture or an open mind to other's cultures. A Rolls Royce being left unlocked tells you all you need to know. Absolutely disrespectful attitude being invited to a wedding by complete strangers in a foreign country! The bride looked gorgeous, and the groom is looking handsome. I wish them many years of happiness.
We don't really know the context he said it in. Something must have happened. There was a bigger kid following him. Alex seems like a decent lad and he fully got into the culture in the last video if you haven't seen it 😂
A very big thank you callum to show pakistan to the world. Also to show the people are very friendly and also the hospitality is the best in the world.
Callum ma wee bro, ya livin that dream , I mean you look like a natural talking and walking through this video!😃not only that but loving the limelight of the local traditions ie weddings & ceremonies haha!. You lucky the wedding is local if the other side was from a distance like Lahore then the journey would be to that destination dependant on the brides / grooms home town!, it is a tradition to stop for a “tea stop invite “ on the way to the main reception of the wedding. I live here in the uk but Scotland is my favourite place in uk as I’m a nature lover and a trekker by nature
Hey callum, so happy you attended this wedding was my relatives wedding , hope you enjoyed your time in our ends in Pakistan 😘 much love from Jhelum and Manchester ❤️
Baraat is the main event where groom goes to get the bride. Then we have Waleema in which bridegroom invites people and they give gifts and/or eat food. My favorite is Mehndi(Henna) BTW. It's not a very important event as compared to baraat and waleema but it's common. We have it before Baraat. We apply henna and oil to groom and/or bride and feed them confectionery sweets. People dance and it's really a fun event. Very poor people often skip mehendi event and also baraat instead they have a simple nikah (where bride and groom agree to get married and sign documents, say prayers etc.) This is the most important and compulsory thing for a marriage to be considered done in Islam. Then Waleema is the tradition of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) so is super common in Pakistan.
Just shows u don't need alcohol to have a party !Great vlog looking fab in black and Alex needs a tailored shalwar kameez as his was way too big ! Look forward to the next one Callum
Very nice Callum! I do not know if this can be done at a later time but maybe you can find 15 - 20 nice still frames you can print out on photo print paper when you are back home then send it as a gift to the bride & groom.
Callum your vlogs are sick. Watch them with my family and it reminds us of back home. Also, big up to the lads showing you around. Looks like they've treated you as family and shown how to treat guests in islam. Respect to them
