Manipur Turmoil: 12 BJP MLAs skip CM's meeting amid signs of dissent in NDA. Twelve BJP MLAs did not attend a meeting convened by Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh to address the state's law and order situation, reflecting dissatisfaction within the party. Of the absentees, nine gave no reason, while three cited personal or medical grounds, according to an official. As per reports, 'There are signs some MLAs are unhappy with how the ethnic conflict has been handled. These signs cannot be ignored.” The meeting, attended by 27 MLAs, adopted resolutions including recommending a review of the Armed Forces Special. Powers Act (AFSPA) in six police station areas. The meeting also adpoted resolution calling for a crackdown on Kuki militants responsible for recent killings. The political unrest follows the November 11 abduction and killing of six relief camp inmates.
