Fundamentals of Meter Proving and Evaluation

Meters measure the volume of petroleum or petroleum product that flows through them. A meter must give accurate readings. However, a meter doesn’t always deliver exactly the volume it says it did. Flaws in design and basic wear and tear can render a meter inaccurate. They must be calibrated, or proved.
