It's insane that we are at the point where gameplay fight scenes look as spectacular as pre-rendered QTE cutscenes
Yeah, I was just thinking that, remembering playing the original in 2005, thinking when will gameplay look this good, now we're here, damn!
@@theoutlawking9123 yeah me too
Gamecube version had cutscenes at real time.
I watched FF7 Advent Childten years ago and kept wondering. “When will graphics look this good?”
And then FF7 remake years later finally achieved that dream
@@estebansaravia5008 yeah but the Krauser fight wasn't
This is honestly sad, Leon kept all the green herbs to himself and gave none to Luis.
Not even an egg
Because it only works for the protagonist and no one else. Those are magic herbs after all. XD
He burned it all on himself during his fight with his BFF.
goddamnit could've shared that large black bass
Racoon city herbs hit different and now it help leon n claire
Dang. Luis’s death in this one is more sad than in the original. I actually had hope that he’d make it through the game alive in this one, despite knowing he died in the 2004 version.
Yeah in the original he died way too soon. So I’m glad the remake gave him more time to shine.
Same 😢😢
I thought they will let Luis live in the remake 😢
Resident evil 4 2005 version by the way friend US Aidan....
Whoops. Sorry, I meant the 2005 version.
Luis dies like a Freaking BOSS, what a Badass dude he was...
It still hurts to see him dying like that again after so many years
MGS4 Final Scene vibes 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Dying like a “Big” Boss
He wasn't a completely undercooked character in this one. This as a sequel to REmake 2, Leon hates Umbrella, Luis gets revealed to be an employee (and apparently a damned smart one) of Umbrella.
There is more of a natural thing between two guys in a tough situation.
@@umutdurmus7523 when Luis said "this is good, isn't it?" Truly one of the moments ever
@@suri_exe Yes😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Nice to see that Luis still goes out like an absolute boss. Shame to see him go again.
The hell you mean "still"? Last time Saddler killed him with his dick.
@Rœłįńçæż yes but still a shame. I liked him.
@@Ibeysjabecuskanevdy just like Luis said , crawl out of one hole and into another . The guy can’t catch a break
He died like a ragdoll in the OG.
@@bukojoetheslapsoils8273 That's what irritated me the most whenever I played the original.
In the Original, Luis was caught off guard from Saddler with an impalement
In the Remake , Luis was caught off guard by a knife from Krauser
Also
In original - Ada saves leon
Remake - Luis saves leon
Ada saving Leon doesnt make sense since Krauser can rat on her easily.
@@jackjax7921 It is make senss lols.. She was an elite agent. What he can do?.. Fight them both, including ada with her knowledge about krauser weakness?..
@@m.daffaariyansyah1574 thr knife
@@jackjax7921 Ada is the one who killed Krauser in OG
4:08 this is definitely my favorite shot in the whole game. Luis knows he's done for, Leon knows he's done for, Luis doesn't even have the strength to light one last smoke in acceptance of his oncoming death. And without a word, Leon helps him light, like he's fulfilling a dying wish. Sometimes the smallest things speak the loudest.
true
Such a loss to the ladies of the world😂
And not to mention, we know how Leon feels about smoking. And yet he *still* helps him!
can almost foreshadow Krauser modded as Vergil and Leon as Dante
Well Leon even has Royal Guard now.
to be fair Leon and Dante share the same voice actor in Japanese.
No, it's Basically Raiden vs Sam from metal gear rising
And Senator Armstrong is Lord Saddler really Khajiit Warrior?🤨
So Khajiit Warrior it's Senator Armstrong as Lord Saddler because the nanomachines is the holy body
Luis admitting he led an awful life before finding redemption in his final days, and Leon's subtle reaction to his death... definitely feels more powerful and seals the sad ending to Luis' tale better than the original did, which frankly struck me as a little random.
"Better than the original"
Yeah kid, you played the original right yesterday
@@velk_wanggoudan the original Luis death was kind of out of left field at a random point in the game and had little emotion and this is from someone who loved the original. Only reason it was passable was cause luis was a great character
@@velk_wanggoudan Did you get salty?
@@velk_wanggoudan Nah. Played the original Gamecube version when it released. I just know better and improved quality when I see one, unlike some people stuck in nostalgia-land.
@@velk_wanggoudan blinded by nostalgia.
Finished RE4 several times and it's obvious in regard to Luis death and the bond Leon had with Krauser is better written and shown in the remake.
Man Luis's death broke my heart. He's the real MVP. Also, the knife fight was VERY well executed in this game. I loved the QTEs, but this one nails it when being a part of the experience.
If you think about it it's kind of like 2nd fight with Krauser in the original RE4 in which you have to collect the 3 insignia's.
@@Ridley_LockhartNahh, he also doing this on the 2nd encounter on Remake. Play the game so you will know.
Respect for luis Who stand for the right while even dying.
This game gave a man a better respect he deserves
You can feel the emotions in this music. The devastation, the despair, the anger. It all pulls everything together so well. Makes it so much more Immersive.
People have mixed feelings about Krauser’s voice in this remake, but I like it. Not only is the interaction between him and Leon much more of a master/student dynamic, but his tone of voice sounds very feral and animalistic - like a man who has been reduced to a beast.
Holy shit, I’ve never thought of it that way. I like it too.
I like it as well, I already assumed I wouldn't like it but after going through this part I like his voice now
Krauser's new voice is the one that you don't feel comfortable at first but over time, you will grow fond of it and even admire it more than the OG one
Once you realize that Krauzer in the remake is the classic case of military vet gone mad with PTSD and trauma of losing his squad in combat it all starts to make sense. It's honestly genius.
It still feels like most all the characters that had unique, intense and even intimidating voices are just meh. Ii fuckin hate how they did something like that it just makes the experience, different sure, but also less enjoyable.
I don't even want anybody to agree with this, if you like it, cool. 😎 I think most of the characters in RE4R sounds kinda whack. Ada, Wesker especially lame, Saddler, Salazar, Jack...
But it is what it is. 🤷 Fuck it.
We all knew that was coming, but seeing KRAUSER killing Luis, and appearing THIS early, was a shocker. What a masterpiece game
I like this version even more, and change from Ada to Luis to shoot knife out of Krauser is a lot better
Definitely missed ada here. Would have been better If she appeared to assist them. But oh well
@@aalzien722 Probably in Separate Way, she will be somewhere to witness Luis Death, just like Original

i was crying and laughing when Luis said "such a loss for the ladies in the world" 😢
This scene is WAY BETTER than how it was in the original man. What a great dude Luis was. He might think he led a shitty life, but he died like a boss!
Yes. MGS 4 Final Scene vibes. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@umutdurmus7523 Exactly what I was thinking. Call back to Solid lighting Boss’ final cigarette.
@@LiterallySpikeSpiegel "this is good...isn't it"
I don't like that they made Leon weaker than in the original. He was on par with Krauser and was able to aviod his attacks. Here their fight is just awful.
@@ceylancobalt3117 Lmao, how is Leon weaker? He can parry, he can kill enemies using stealth, he can kick enemies into walls, he can slice enemies’ arms off with his knife, he utilizes CQC techniques like Center Axis Relock, has more melee attacks, and the game even has a one in the chamber gun mechanic. The remake conveys his training way more effectively. Also, the boss fight is way better and feels much more balanced in the remake. It helps that you can actually play the knife fight with Krauser in real time, instead of boring ass QTE prompts. Are you on drugs?
“You were a fine knight, Don Quixote.” gives me the impression that Leon either canonically read the notes and picked up on Luis being the Don Quixote kid, or he was already familiar with the story and saw it in Luis’ final hours.

Nice
Duuuuude 😂
man... i knew it was coming but it still hurts just like it did in the original, why Luis had to die? him and Leon have the best bromance in the entire franchise
True
Love their "bros" chemistry
re4 remake leon was kinda grumpy and not so bro like to luis
@@amarson2322 honestly thats true, thats one of the few things that i think this remake did wrong, Leon was a bit too grumpy, in the original you could really feel like he formed a bond with both Luis and Mike despite the little time he had with them and their lost seems to affect him way more than in this one, you could aslo see his total hatred for Saddler for killing them
@Arthur Alexander well he is suffering from ptsd that can probably account for him being grumpy on the side note Luis worked for umbrella
@@arthuralexander1449 ya man in the og they where better together, you could feel the chemistry but over here it just falls pretty flat and they felt like strangers in the end
RIP Luis. Glad to see that this combat is a window to the evolution of Leon. From the blue rookie he was to the almost cheated badass character he is now. Capcom did a masterpiece of this remake 🥲 Also first !
Facts bro
The remake is way more effective, due to Luis getting way more screen time, and partnering up with Leon for much more of the game. His dialogue also conveyed his backstory and redemption arc much more effectively. This is definitely a huge improvement.
"What do you want?!"
"A sample saddler developed that's all"
"Leave ashley out of this"
"You maybe able to prolong your life but it's not like you're gonna escape your inevitable death is it?"
0:58
it's rather ironic how leon forgot the one bit of advice he gave to ada.
Krauser is badass af.
4:22 the way he said that line and started crying... I can't look at this scene without feeling some empathy bro 😭 this is a way better cutscene for Luis than the original. Still, pretty saddening to see our amigo die just like that... 😭
"just keep gettin' better" lose one friends then come another
When I heard they'll get rid of QTE I thought they would botch the fight. But in fact this change the fight to even more badass
They changed it to hope you know how to parry, basically Memesoon's fight in MGR
@@blastmole299 honestly, didn't find parrying that hard. Muuch easier than RE3 remake's dodge too.
You thought removing QTE would make the fight worse? Lmao
Even more badass? More and more people i see smokin crack every day
the scene as a whole is worse, really hate them tlaking so much during the fight, but hte fight itself was a cool idea, should have done a bit of both
Original: *LUIS!!!!*
Remake: *Giving back his matches*
Ah, yes. "Louis."
1:05 - 1:12 Absolutely love the slow but tense ramp up in music here. Leon looks pissed but determined, Krauser looks impressed but proficient.
This knife fight is straight out of captain America the winter soldier
Love it
Both the fights of cap with Bucky and the french mercenary (Gerard St.Pierre Modern UFC best fighter) were amazing
And yeah they took the same vibe in this fight

@@azeryss444 homie I’ve played the original probably 30 times
The new version is just cinematic
Thank you, Capcom for giving this beloved character so much love all the way until his death.
Even though I was expecting Luis to die. This still emotionally hit me hard. Definitely powerful than the original.
You gave this character complete closure.
Thank you for also giving him a clean death.
Don't mind the new change in luis' death scene honestly happy he made it further into the story than the OG one hopefully he's a playable character in the mercenaries that'd be dope
They already made the animations for Luis so I would bet on it
He's playable in Mercenaries ;)
Possibly the best unwanted remake of all time. Loved every moment of it. Had my doubts but they knocked this out of the ball park.
This scene is so powerful, it legit made me to cry like a kid.
Funny how I knew he would die and would die in this specific area, but I really was not expecting him to save Leon and have that last conversation.
This is the only death in the franchise (besides Ethan) that actually felt like an impactful moment. I genuinely feel sad about his death
Piers too from RE6
@@BenKei83 yeah, Peirs get infected, use all of his strength to stop HAOS and sacrificed his life to save Chris, he is a goddamn bro.
piers, barry, alfred, even steve a little
@@Sercroc Steve sucked. Hated him. Barry didn’t die. And piers was kind of a douche. None of them had the level of writing as Luis (besides for Barry, but he’s still alive)
@@WinterWolf_Edits no you just didn't like them
I love how even though he was severely wounded by Krauser, Luis still shoots his gun at Krauser in one last attempt to fight back and defend Leon. Made his death more heartbreaking, but I’m happy that he found his redemption by helping Leon rescue Ashley and fought with him until the bitter end in this remake.
R.I.P. Luis. You were the greatest! 😢
Sad that Luis still died in the remake. However, I love that they gave him more screentime this time around. In the original he was such a cool character but you didn’t have that many cutscenes with him and only had one fight together with him in that house full of ganados. Glad to see them improving upon a lot of things in the original. I also love that they had Luis save him even while dying this time around, instead of Ada saving Leon
Capcom knew the fans love luis ,
I think the choregraphy of the knife fight at the very beginning is incredible, indeed I slowed down the video to see how they tried to connect to each other
Agree. That first attack Leon does swinging his knife so smoothly feels like a snake attacking with how fast and smooth it was. This actually feels like how two CQC experts would fight with knives.
Also just my opinion but I think it's cool the fact the blades only hit each other like two times in the cutscenes. Makes the blow feel more powerful than the OG cutscene.
@@eltemplariodetierrasanta7234 I absolutely agree with you, it seemed like a real professional knife fight
The OG was almost anime
It looks out of place with the rest of the game, in fact it looks out of place with the fight you have with Krauser right after.
The choreography is one of the reason why the Remake is better than the original at this scene
The original knife fight look like something from Metal Gear, over the top but awesome.
This one felt like a real knife fight.
Yes, Luis, people can change. It's our decision if we decide to or not, but we all can change.
Dang, I like Luis, and I don't even need to talk about how sad it is to see him go
Ok, now I got REAL REASONS TO EXTERMINATE KRAUSER
Agreed
Luis being killed unlocked a new move for Leon. The Flying F*** You Kick

I really liked the changes here. A much better death for Luis and a better introduction to Krauser.
Thanks to remake they give more screen time to luis
The cqc is so badass

No Chris gonna be mad who gonna continue the Redfield bloodline
Krauser in this remake is not entirely evil. He respects leon as a soldier and as his protégé. He gave leon a fighting chance and actually fights a gentlemen duel
Even at the end, he told leon that he taught him good and has mutual respect for each other
Krauser act more like a senior/mentor here
Krauser es el mentor de Leon, por lo que quería darle ka oportunidad de pelear, no es armadura de guión pues si esta bien planteado para los que entendieron
@@nijel1943 it feels like a part of Krauser was still kinda there by not slitting Leons throat and instead gives him a helpful tip but las plagas parasite was just too strong
This fight alone was worth the money. Was so much fun.
As Badass as Leon is in this remake timeline, just imagine Chris in a RE5 remake 😮 HOLY SHIT!
Boulder punching in RE Engine hell yeah
I would be curious in seeing a remake or completely reboot the story of RE6 since the 4 campaigns tried to be a jack of all trades.

I hope Chris punches two boulders 😂
At least Luis got to live longer than in the original.
My jaw dropped playing this. Easily one of the best boss fights I have ever played in a game. Just the style and use of controls. Glad they went full John WIck in RE4 Remake.
Knives battle is what we all want to see
Luis: at least nobody is going to stab me in the back this time.
Krauser: yeah about that...
Btw did anyone else get the symbolism when ever Leon lit his smoke, and his first words were “you got a smoke?”
So long partner🫡. He tried helping us. I cried during his death scene😭it was so unexpected I was like " what the fuck ". Luis was a great character, I'm glad Capcom gave us his character development and I'm glad Luis was with us for a short while. I wasn't expecting Jack to be in the mines this early. It sucks seeing him die again but we all knew it was coming. This is how you write a death scene to character that we care, that is written well and is likeable. Unlike Naughty Dog how dirty they did Joel's death scene.....
This scene makes me appreciate the remake leon character more than the original. He has grown to be the bad ass special agent working directly under the president from being a rookie cop but he still has that boy scout attitude. And luis death reinforces his character more because it made him believe despite the bad choices, people still have power to change.
4:34 "This is good, isn't it..."
Big Boss😭😭😭😭😭
2:51 I liked how Krauser didn't attack Leon in his back and waited Leon to turn around and then attack 😂
Luis is killed by Krauser rather than Saddler. Well that's new.
Ikr, and gives me more a vibe to even kill krauser in the game more bc he killed luis
Krauser still have the originial knife from re4, nice detail
This guy made it PERSONAL!
Krauser's dry laugh at 0:30 sounds so sinister, I love it. Btw, if anyone is interested in the knife that Krauser uses here, it took inspiration from Mercworx knives. The closest one being either the Black Chilli or Meggido. These knives don't have the serpent logo that Krauser's has and their "twirly loop" is much smaller but these are the closest ones I could find on the web.
I know Luis’s death was sad… but damn that entrance for Krauser was EPIC!!!
Krauser: didnt I teach you? Knives are faster
Leon in Vendetta: *John Wick gun melee mode activated.
I love here in this remake Leon still cared for his former comrade even to the point of convincing him to stop. In the original, its like they dont even have gone out of missions together.
Damn, they definitively changed a lot of things. I still remember from Luis dying by Saddler back when I was a child playing the first game.
I feel depressed seeing that Luis passed on without hearing Leon's reply.
4:10 "This is good... Isn't it?"
I thought of Metal Gear Solid 4 too. Big Boss
Can't wait to playable RE4 remake Krauser in Mercenaries
I do like that leon doesn’t scream like he lost a longtime friend. Like yeah he is still sad but not like exaggeratingly so
im depressed he didnt make it but im happy that they at least gave him more screen time as well as more dialogue where he explains his backstory and the plagas
Leon to Ada: Try using knives next time. Better for close encounters.
Also Leon: (Attempts to draw a pistol against Krauser at close range)
Good to see 🤝
Love how they made the first fight with Krauser a proper boss. It kind of reminds me of the boss fight with Rafe in Uncharted 4.
“what do you think leon? people can change right?” that makes me tear up
Re 4 Original Krauser : Been A Long time Comrade
Re 4 Remake Krauser : Long time no see Rookie
“But now.. what do u think leon? people can change right?” what a devastating line. when u think through what luis did everything even he helped and did made mr.x and nemeses on RE2R with umbrella. What he did was unforgivable but he did help leon and ashley and even ada he did give her a medicine. i think for me he did made his redemption in some way. a beautiful character well written and well remake with a legendary made to the history. They did a great job with luis character to connecting everything to storyline in RE2R and RE4R thank you copcom truly.
No one really mentions this, but I find the soundtrack here with the introduction of Krauser brilliant. It's so ominous but plays well in the introduction of a powerful military commander gone rogue.
The remake only made Luis more likeable and Krauser more hateable to me. Glad Ada will give him a brutal death in her DLC.
Nah he dead
Man i loved this Luis...
It is good that they changed it in the orginal Every time Ada comes out of nowhere and saves lion and disappears
Luis's death reminded me a lot of the death of big boss in metal gear 4

2:53 My Favorite Moment❤️🔥🔥🤌🏼
At least they kept him alive longer here than in the original.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Listen at 4:48 I heard Leon is sobbing.
Interesting🤔 I don’t hear it unfortunately
0:45 'And killing a few rats along the way.' I genuinely thought he meant this literally at first. Like, oh? Have you been doing the ratting requests as well, Krauser? Haha. I know he's referring to Luis but it's funny to think that he actually did

yeah, the original krauser's voice is a perfect match, I mean this one kinda weird with his looking, it's not match at all, but welp... still looking good for a remake
Nick Apostolides is acing it with this game. The "What the hell!? Why!?" sounded so realistic it felt Nick actually knew Luis personally 😅
