You have to respect a guy like Brunson. He’s had lows in his career but always remained near the top 10 and is now on a big streak. And it’s amazing he still has a career after utilizing the bum rush technique lol

Really impressed with his run lately. Lost to adesanya then dominated his way back to being a high contender. He’s the example of working your way up to a title
you gotta give him credit he really has reinvented himself, his results speak for themselves
Takes some serious inner strength to lose big fights and keep picking yourself up after being treated like shit by everybody. Guys like Derek, Dustin, Glover, Jan, Charles, mike Bisping, Ed alvarez, ect. Always looked up to those guys.

10 years in the top 15 multiple 4 fight plus win streaks in the UFC every time hes been KOed he pulls himself back from the depths of hell. Whatever you want to say he has one of the best mentality's in the UFC.

Brunson was an underdog in virtually all of his most recent fights, and derailed hype train after hype train along the way. If he beats Cannonier, you can't deny this man a title shot any longer.
If Rob doesn't get it done this weekend, Brunson has maybe the best wrestling in the division and can easily make mincemeat of Izzy if he can get him down. His stirking defense is a lot better, but not sure if it's at the level it needs to be for the rematch. Still wanna see it though

since losing to Izzy he's been on a 5 fight win streak. if he can beat Cannonier he probably gets the title shot.
He should get a title shot if he wins, but if Rob ends up beating Izzy it will suck because he'll have to wait and time is not on his side.

@@wildberry752 If Rob wins he'll have to wait even longer as there will be a trilogy fight if that happens. He would honestly have to pray that for the trilogy either Izzy gets injured so he can step in or Rob gets injured setting up an interim belt with Izzy. And all of that is not assuming Kamaru Usman doesn't move up and throw his hat in the ring if Izzy is out.

I can't believe Brunson derailed the hell out of that Shahbazyan hype train. That guy was treated like a mini Khamzat.
Now look at Shahbazyan. 0-3 in his last 3 fights, showing awful cardio and fight IQ on route to a brutal loss. He's one loss away from being cut by the UFC and forgotten about. MMA is a cruel sport sometimes.

A lot of people are saying Derek is a gatekeeper, but he's always been in the top 10, now I think in the top 5. I'd always thought he had a really bad gameplan because he's always rushing in getting caught. Glad he changed coaches and is more patient now in his approach. Good cardio, good chin. I think he needs to brush up on his striking and I legit think he can be champion.
