Yeah, Seekonk banned his car. He was too fast for the track according to the track officials. They tried slowing him down by implementing a tire rule.(only on certain AWD drivers, everyone else was okay to run whatever tire they wanted) Out of principle he refused to race. Now he's dominating spectator drags all around New England and apparently Florida.
Fully built motor on E85 ,custom manifolds, big turbos, built tranny , front and rear diffs , rws delete ,Aem v2 , nitto nt01s, it made 820 on a mustang Dyno and it's full weight with a/c .
I've owned some VR4 and Stealth...the Stealth was 550ish awhp back in the day and ruled the streets in Memphis for a long time until a guy started showing up in little silver 800+awhp EVO 8 (that was me too)

I'd say the speed wasn't much different between the cars. The fact that its awd means he can grip up accelerating out the turn more. His tires suspension seem pretty good too.

Congrats to Mike, This guy put this car together on the lift right next to mine while I was working, In fact I held the turbo in place while he got the vband clamp on. Lot of hard work to get the car ready for the event and it all payed off Congrats Mike, a real fucking Rooster! Proud to have a winning car come out of our shop!
Fun facts I learned from a friend with an vr4 600hp+. These cars are called gt which means grand tourer. So They where actully not built for trackracing to start with. The car is amazing when it comes to just driving around. I have driven an original one on track and its not fun 😂. But it handles surprisingly well. They are freaking heavy to. About 3800 lbs stock. But when you start fixing the. Suspension Brakes Weight reduction They get good at trackracing
If you haven't seen the Puma GTO from back in the day, check out Best Motoring, it was a solid race car. VR4 always suffered from oil issues whether it was a spun bearing, dirt or starvation. Would love to see Mitsubishi tackle one more 3000GT VR4 before going fully electric.
@@atlasreserve9111 do these cars have 4ws? Yes. Does this car have 4ws steering? No. Almost every vr4 delete the 4ws because they are either failing or are trash. And no it doesn’t work like a viscous. It’s a steering rack bolted to the subframe that has tie rods that connect to the trailing arm and use the play on the bushing to change the angle of the rear tires. It’s minimal movement. @@atlasreserve9111 VR4 stands for viscous real-time four-wheel drive, both in the galant and 3kgts. As just a tune mentioned, yes they came with parallel four wheel steering , but many people delete it. I on the other hand, like to suffer. It feels weird on the edge and I like it.
That C8 won the last event, against some pretty serious competition. This video is not a testament to how slow the C8 is, but how fast that vr4 is. I would love to know what's he done to it.
Burnouts on the pad after the checkered flag are pretty common at the FF. However those crew members should not have been on the pad the way they were. Get behind the barricade ffs 🙄
Bring any C8 you want, that VR4 will dominate. (So long as it stays together) if not, the DSM will gap them. Any time those 2 cars are racing there you can expect one of them to win. (At spectator drags)

4gSwap is the thing with these. My buddy set the 3S 1/4 mile record with his 4g swapped 3000 with an 8 something. The guy who pioneered the swap got his into the 9s. Now he's running a TT LS motor, AWD with a powerglide.

You can see the weight in the corners though he looses alot of ground on corners but he more than makes up for it on launch and power.

The new c8s are not the fastest in straight lines, but they are monsters on a track. I definitely recommend watching one go around a track.

VR4's are legit cars. Twin turbs awd and rear stear. They have oiling issues tho that tend to blown the motors. I woulnt mind seeing a k swap in one
Sadly the oiling issues is what did mine in at 239000 miles. Haven't figured out what I want to do with it yet but they are fun cars
