The Apprentice: Voodoo

Dive deeper into the Spirit world with. me, Bloody Mary, as we train this new team member and get her ready for Voodoo intitiation and spirit communication.
Today we meet with our new potential Voodoo dedicate "Janelle". She is a long time professional tarot reader and crystal healer yet we will do many mediumship connections, Seance and ceremony with her to open the way!
First we invite in some of her long gone New Orleans ancestors to be a part of it all. So yes, we will meet ghosts, search the forests for swamp creatures too, for New Orleans Voodoo and I, have swamp magic running through our veins!
This is Janelle's first level presentation to the spirits and then we will follow certain parts of her training as she works toward apprentice and when she initiate as St John's eve! Not all those who step into thei path actually make it all the way.The Spirits will make it clear who is ready and who is not!
She is also tuning up her intuitive abilities to become more of a psyhcic medium. We will start with her ancestors connection and the spirit of place as we make our offerings and present her to the land and waters of New Orleans!
We do this intro Seance and spirit connection with the spirit world, here and now, to guide and strengthen her. She will also get closer to Marie Laveau and the Voodoo Loas as we travel on!
Follow this journey though New Orleans cemeteries and sacred sites as well as in my Voodoo cabildo in my house, (my haunted house and temple) and throhg the hUNted museum with some paranormal investigations
Voodoo is a part of New Orleans Culture and can also be a part of a family too. So family is one way to learn but many have teachers that are friends, neighbors, coworkers, Godfamily to show them the way as they become part of the house and Godfmaily therin.
New Orleans Voodoo has been multicultural for over 200 years and was primarily female in the times of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. Lets see why ?
Everyone has many teachers and if you are lucky enough to get one specific willing teacher who you are near, they will carry you through to intitiation when it is time and, if this is the right path for each of you. Your teacher is giving up her valauable time to show you the way and her knowledge! This person is your Godmother who, like a Sensei, will protect, guide and train you. They will always be your mentor. and you must respect them .
But this path is not easy and hard work is involved. Spirit will test you, people will talk about you, there could even be spiritual attacks but you need to carry on. You must explore your fears and confusions and put your ego aside. Being too sensitve can block your growth. being resentlful or jelaous will bounce back on you and any flase or sneaky componenets will show itself.
Whilst training you are given information acording to your participation, strength, ability and loyalty. Other Godmothers might just hold you through your baptism but in New Orleans Voodoo her appreinticeship is more. You are responsible to follow and assist in keeping the 'house' and town together and assist in rituals and even do the grunt work as you learn. There will be many sacrifices of time and personal help during training which can last many years in different forms.
If you grow up in your own fam house tradition or marry into the culture like my child then you are a natural apprentice. Others may have outside teachers, priestess or priest to train them and become the Godparent. There is a whole Godfamily.
When you move in to a new area and are trying to fit in you must be invited into the culture by someone who lives it. Religions have the same type of rules, both have gatekeeping, some more than others. There are many multicultural influences here that run through this Latin catholic African diasporic city of New Olreans.
The Spirit of place of New Orleans is raw and wild as well as sultry at the same time but can feel harsh to many, you , just need reach her soul so we will do just that. I have always said as I do my outings, tours and retreats that I show to the heart and soul of my hometown and the spirits.
