Review of the Cobra LTDx one length irons. Are one length clubs just a gimmick or a great idea?

  • Welcome to ACS golf and this weeks review where I am looking at the Cobra LTDx one length irons from 2022. I have looked at the LTDx irons before which are great, however I wanted to try the one lengths as have a few worries. The reason for these worries is the one length irons are the same length, a 7 iron, from 4 to SW. That’s fine for the shorter irons, but with the longer irons are you still going to be able to get good distance with the shorter shaft? Watch to find out. Also remember to subscribe to the video for weekly ACS golf reviews.

    I have used the LTDX one length for 3 months now, and I love them. I have gone from a 25 handycape to 15 . The reason I went with the one length is because my best shoots were with my 7 iron. I am more consistent with them. I didn't lose any distance. I gained distance. You are right they are not for all.

      That’s great that’s it’s helped drop your handicap and helps you be more consistent. Have you tried the one length hybrids as well?

    I play 2020 Cobra Forged Tec one lengths 3-SW. I’m 55 and I LOVE them.

    Just put a lighter shaft in the Long 37 inch 4,5 iron for more speed and more distance

      That’s a good idea. 👍

    Awesome video! Do you know if it's possible to change the weight in the club head? As I've seen it had a torque screw there

      You can yes. There’s an 8-gram toe weight in there as standard which can be adjusted down to 2 grams and up to as much as 14 grams to dial in the swingweight on custom builds. 👍

    I game the aerojet one length 7i-sw. I really love them. I’m never going back. I’m definitely more consistent. For the longer irons/hybrids they don’t work for me either. I think a 2-length set would be perfect. Long irons/hybrids in 38,5 inches.
    It’s not only the lofts that are different in the one length irons. Lie angles are different, more flat towards the wedges. It makes sense if you try them… The CG is also higher in the wedges to prevent them not going too high.

      That makes sense regarding the CG, was trying to find that out, but couldn’t find that bit of info anywhere, so thanks for letting me know.
      That’s good that the lower clubs work for you. I think the idea you have of having them a bit longer in the longer irons could work well. I m sure you could get that done privately.

    It's hard to compare them one on one. Like you compare a i7 one brand vs i7 from a diffrent brand and there is 3degrees loft difference. Same as the shaft lenght. If it's shorter than the one you will not hit it the same. But if you create a set with all the correct gaps it does not mater what it does in distance. I for myself I only have S,G,P,,9,8 and 7. After that I go into the hybrids and from there to my driver.
    The one lenght gives you more stable shots so even if those are 'shorter' it gives better result. Maybe not for a golfpro, but for the normal players like us it gives you many positives.

      Sounds like you have a perfect set up for yourself. 👍
      And I agree it is very difficult to compare irons nowadays due to the different lofts per brands and the fact irons lofts are getting strong and stronger. I currently use the mizuno JPX 921 hot metal pros. The new 925s are just coming out and the new pros are 2 degrees stronger than the 921s which will potentially leave me with a gapping problem at the end of the bag. Lofts need to be looked out before buying any clubs.

    It would be nice to have a few tables or graphics with all those numbers, it would be easier to follow your review

    What a normal ltx. Just got a set and don’t know the difference

    • @Acsgolf
      @Acsgolf  4 місяці тому

      So there is no real difference between the one length and normal. Basically the only real difference is the shaft length. So the one length version, all the shafts are the length of a standard 7 iron. While the normal set the length of the shafts change per club and are normal.
      Hope the above helps.

    That thing is extra chunky

      @Acsgolf  25 днів тому +1

      Completely agree! It is probably one of the Chunkiest irons I have ever reviewed which isn’t a hybrid iron.
