I watched Celtic Pilgrimage for the first time last night, Rebecca. It really did strike a chord with me, as Dál Riata (Argyll) is my homeland and the inspiration for my own music & poetry. I even noticed the small wooden cross my son and I made is still on the altar in Columba's cave. Thank you for bringing the story of my homeland to the wider world. St Hild was an Anglo-Saxon not a 'Celtic' Saint, and I see absolutely no mention of Wales here. It may be the smallest of the 'Celtic' nations, but it has a rich Christian heritage possibly dating back to Roman times.
I jusr saw this on Amazon Prime. Didnt finish watching. Seemed to try to paint Ireland as if Catholicism had nothing to do with that country's growth. St Patrick is a Catholic canonized saint. And this video focuses more on northern Ireland which is not Catholic. The Irish were fiercely Catholic.
st paddy was of jewish descent and a sabbath keeper...the false church canonised him to trick ppl into thinking he and the miracles he performed were catholic...the early Celtic church were straight from the apostles not from roman poop
And the most important country of them all is not mentioned the one the saints came from Wales the country that tought the Irish and Scottish how to read. And England has absolutely nothing to do with this time period so the programme is out of touch even before it begins. And Scotland didn't exist until 9th century between 4th 6th century the Scottish were still in Ireland not a part of Britain. Typical documentaries from someone who has absolutely no idea of ancient history of the Welsh/British
