M architect Wow only 16 man??! Damn you guys made an underground classic with one! This deserves a million views. I really really miss this type of hip hop man.
I could never find an instrumental for this through the years but I do have some useless info I can throw at you lol. I know the cat who produced this was Greg "Fuqua" Watkins. He used samples from 2 different songs. The first being Lonnie Liston Smith’s song peaceful ones. The second sample was a small segment from Kenny Burke’s song risin to the top. As for the drums it’s hard telling if they were prerecorded and produced off a drum machine or if they were recorded acoustically. My guess is they had someone lay down a drum track on an acoustic set, which is pretty cool and unheard of nowadays.
@@sacredg6527 I too was trying to find an instrumental of this song!! but if you said they were recorded or prerecorded then that’s fine too this is amazing!

Laaaid back.
I’ve been listening to this song at least twice a day for the past year. It puts me in this state of trance I just refuse to leave.
I know right
It isn't about bringing back this kinda hip-hop. It is about appreciating what is left of it.

Damn, I'm gonna listen to it while smoking my next pipe
[Intro]
Haha ha, Assasinate, Marchitect
On that old next shit, ya know what I'm sayin, chillin'
? ?
[Verse 1: Marchitect]
I'm back in effect so emcees need to hush
And listen to this def jam, you fuck around ya get rushed
Get an umbrella 'cause my rhymes will put a damper on ya
Shit so take a hike 'cause I'm intense like a camper
My battle tactics result from much practice
Your rhymes are so flat that you know you can't jack this
I took you out and it wasn't no fluke
'Cause my lyrics are the shit and be jamming like daisy dukes
Plus I'm slicker than Chuck Berry's conk
Around the clock I run niggas over like Larry Csonka
Undefeated as I give you what you needed
So talk to Micheal Jackson if you think you can beat it
I'll make you wish you never picked up a mic
So what the fuck nigga, don't make me have to tell you twice
[Verse 2: Assasinate]
Now, allow me, to grab the mic and make this track complete
And make the wack run out they sneaks when I rip this beat
It's the dapper rapper, with the tss tss tss tsss the butter shit
Like no other shit, your main squeeze be loving it
Could that be why your crew lost its morals
Gave your A and R oral
Hit rock bottom like coral
Assassinate gave you the info, we saw it in your faces
So we cut you up into pieces and spread you into different places
We don't allow fake rappers who can't move crowds
They ain't sayin nothing but they talkin' real loud
How can you write a wack song and be proud?
We got the murder some, underground shit like Carl Ferguson
But I'm chillin lett'n in the world hear the vocals
Got the international status i'm soaring past the locals
[Chorus]
We ain't leaving until we ain't breathing
So if you got the feeling then we'll rise up to the ceiling
Cream of the crop and you know it don't stop
We keep rising (rising) rising to the top
[Verse 3: Marchitect]
Assasinate, ripping tracks that's legendary
While niggas steady talkin' out they ass like Jim Carey
But I rage and shit, and turn your hood into a ghost town
That's why I'm in the party getting tons of pounds
Rhymes are prominent, you know I'm always dominant
Sprinkle synonyms and homonyms like cinnamon, schnapps
Got the props to stop the cops from bustin' my shit
I'm never legit you try and diss and that's it kid
'Cause Marchitect can't even park his car and catch wreck
Like a guard rail, suckas need to quit it with the hard tales
Ya best fail to excite my rhymes are tight
Like medium jackets you niggas can't hack it
Tell your boys in the hood I gotta furious style
So chill, while Marchitect pulls your file
[Verse 4: Assasinate]
I reach into the notebooks, pull a rap to leave ya dizzy
I got the hotline so like a phone I'm getting busy
Every time I'm in a jam, motherfuckas know who I am
They can't beat me so they play the wall like graffiti
I said I'm rising everyday until my days are done
I said I'm rising everyday until I touch the sun
From start to finish, the competition gets diminished
In a New York minute, I bag bitches like spinach
I, store raps underneath my nap
And make blocks out like I was bustin' off caps
But I ain't bustin' caps, I'm bustin' words
They keep me running things
I shine like birthstones or finer cuts than a diamond ring
The slammin beats connect lovely with the verbs
My sound connects with the street like curb
[Chorus]
We ain't leaving until we ain't breathing
So if you got the feeling then we'll rise up to the ceiling
Cream of the crop and you know it don't stop
We keep rising (rising) rising to the top
We ain't leaving until we ain't breathing
So if you got the feeling then we'll rise up to the ceiling
Cream of the crop and you know it don't stop
Keep rising to the top
