I just thought it was ironic that he made that comment when as you stated, the only way Beckham was truly known for scoring was on free kicks and not for his penalty taking skills as he hardly ever took any of the latter.

And by the way, his run up isn't like Beckham's. Beckham had noticeably bigger strides and also kind of threw his left arm out before striking the ball, neither of which Steedman did. The only similarities are that they both play the same sport, they're both right footed, and they both wore #7. That's it.

@High Lander UVA's #8, Joe Bell, is the best midfielder I've ever seen play in person (and I've been to some MLS games). He's already on the New Zealand national team. He could definitely play professionally if he wants to.

English can be confusing. "Right in the bottom corner" doesn't mean the right-hand side. In this case, "right" means "directly" or something to that extent. You could very well, for instance, say "he shot it right in(to) the bottom left-hand corner," which would be a perfectly acceptable sentence in English. Another example might be "I left home and went right to the store." The sentence has nothing to do with if you turned right, or turned left, to get there. It just means that you went there directly.

@@kodakgreen6047 false, first off a penalty shootout is no way to measure a goalies skills. Second off a lot of these penalties were very good that no goalie would have saved. Yes on a better day the goalies may have saved one or two more of the penalties, but calling them bad because of this just shows that you do not understand enough about goalkeeping or soccer to call them bad.

iamihop11 A PK shootout doesn’t decide which team is better, it only decides which team moves forward and which team is eliminated. Loosing a PK shootout does not count as a defeat. Exciting to watch nonetheless
@@iamihop1123 Sure it does. The only thing I liked better thank PK's was the 1 on 1 "breakaway" drill that MLS used to do, striker vs keeper from the 50 yard line. That was much more fair to the keepers.
