Claiming Finland only has a ”slim chance” of going through is absolutely insane to me 😂
Yeah, this is among top 4 most certain qualifiers in the odds & in everyone's predictions I've seen too, so 😂
I feel like this one is being overanalysed to ⚰️ and hardcore esc fans are forgetting the most basic fundamentals of the televote: if an act is fun and memorable, the viewers will vote it through. Simple stuff.
The point of the performance is not for him to be like "look at me and my small thong",
but the point is to hide his underwear area to give an illusion that he has no underwear. They will do anything in fun ways to hide it, with camera angles, smoke, him behind dancers etc.
Windows95man's idea is to shake up the norms in general.
Of course, that "nudity" is related to the show's story (the character is born from an egg), but it's pretty clear how people talk with double standards, how dare a man dress like that even though women have appeared in the most revealing outfits.
After many years we had a chance to win for once last year but the jury took it away from us. This year the performance is supposed to be just fun, I don't think anyone in Finland thinks this will win.
I think this act will remain in ESC history. Finland will show to all Europe the body positivity ❤ you don’t need to have a perfect gym body. I don’t care what their final result will be. Winning is not important. These guys have made all Europe to laugh. The joy they are delivering, making people happy. It’s incredible ❤❤❤ Respect them. And the lyrics of the song are so beautiful with so strong message!!!
Finland is qualifying easily. There is no way in a televote only semi they are not.
If Loreen was allowed to perform in 2023 in a provoking outfit, Windows95Man can surely do the same in 2024... Just saying. 😜

What a strange reaction. It almost sounds like these guys don't realise that the thong won't be seen in the final performance since that's the whole point... And to say that this is not certain to qualify is delulu.

I find it funny that everyone is talking about the so called nudity on this act but not the others. Slovenian dancers and Raven herself are basically naked on stage and exposing much more. Ireland lifted her leg up and she exposes her whole crotch in the fotos and nobody is talking about that. It is just double standards I guess 🤷♀️
Not to mention spanish male dancers....

They picked the most risky set of undies for the first rehearsal to see if they would need to swap to one of the other pairs that they had brought along and EBU said it was fine, no preblem so I would say that they are prett0y confident that there will be no issues with the camera shots.
Same basic formula with some tweaks and upgrades. It is qualifying 100% whether you like it or not.
Did everyone just forgot the Austin Powers censorship gag? Because that's literally what Finland is doing. Comparing it to Ronela feels disingenuous because both contexts are completely different.
probably in 10 years - the Finnish entry will be the only one -🧡💛💚💙💜🤎 we will remember from this season - so this has to qualify - its such an empowering great song

I believe this will blow up the audience votes. People worry that this act is what almost destroyed eurovision from becoming believable and serious competition, but howcome is humour and lightness automatically seen as a bad and shameful thing 🤔 They are challenging double standards and backing it up with the lyrics, while having an absolute blast on the stage. Go Finland!
Humour and fun are fine If they are done with skills, with quality, like Netherlands this year. But Finland's song is not good enough and that stage show will not save them in the final (If they qualify).

Both are good & fun, but neither is "more quality" than the other. This has plenty of skills involved in making it, at least as much as NL, if not more.

@@florenna The structure and composition of Netherlands song is better, and it IS More original too. Same goes with Estonia song. Compared to them Finland Song is too repetitive and simple. It's not very interesting musically.

That talk about nudity is funny when you look at other performers and remember the old ones. Teemu Keisteri has said that he challenges norms with this character and it is true.

Finland is guaranteed qualification and easy top 10 televoting. I think there will be a lot of 0s but also a lot of top 3 televoting for them.

Windows95man’s thong was also under observation before these rehearsals but now YLE has confirmed that EBU accepted it. They thank god also in the end they accepted Ronela’s choreography in 2022 but even thinking that’s “too sexual” is just pure misogyny

They had six different pants to choose from and they decided to pick the wildest version to start with to check what EBU said, and EBU had no objections 😅. They were prepared to go with the Windows-themed coloured pants for instance, as they expected EBU to say no. (At least these thongs are made of thicker material).

Henri said somewhere that he wanted more glamour on stage, and I agree. The fireworks from the shorts are fun, but on the whole visually it's all too plain, too denim. The vocals have changed a bit , there are more harmonies, but is it going to help with the juries? I don't know. Believe it will qualify though.
