    It really is a thoroughly convincing rendition of one of my favourite prototype tanks of WW2. It's been a pleasure. With the kind of work this is, a month is not too long to wait.

  • @Smilomaniac
    @Smilomaniac 5 років тому +1

    I know you probably won't (it's likely just not something you're interested in), but I would love to see you tackle a Warhammer 40k tank or Dreadnought (walker). The detail is much larger and much easier to do (also build) and would likely be perfect for video material while you are busy anyway.
    This is an absolutely stunning model, congratulations on a job well done and making entertaining videos out of it. This has been a treat, thank you.

    Yes, Martin! A wood tutorial would be great! The hardest thing about doing Russian or Warsaw Pact subjects is making the ditching log look right! Awesome work on the Type 5 Chi-Ri!

    I loved the fact that you put the recap of all the techniques used, it helps remembering the whole process. On a side note, when you finish such a nice model with a story depicted on it what you do is not go to another one I'm afraid. What you do is create a lovely base for it so it looks in place, rather than a white background.

    • @NightShiftScaleModels
      @NightShiftScaleModels  5 років тому

      I hear ya, but in most cases I preferno base for my models. That might change with my future models though!

    This model has been one of the most informative guides to painting and weathering that I've seen posted online. Kind of sad to see it come to an end but I also realize there's only so far you can push something and eventually it's time to call it good and move on.
    Looking forward to seeing what's next. Thank you!

    Friday night is best night because Night Shift uploads a vid.
    Amazing work on this right from the word go. You've honestly taken this to another level. Truly amazing work.
    If you wanted to do shorter vids or vids not so regular whilst you're working; we understand, real life gets in the way of modelling life; bills still need to be paid etc. So no worries mate, always look forward to your vids, even if they were only once a month.

    Such a good subject for showing all the possibilities weathering has to offer.Great job,i like the 'sunbleached' grey effect for wood,far superior to brown tones(i use).One thing missing..you need Shimomura Alec 0.15mm 'Holly' scribing tool.Its the tank scribers dream tool.No damaging flat surface pipe or handle is on.

    Absolutely stellar model model, that is. Also, another way to make wood look grey and rotted is with steel wool and vinegar (although that might not have the precise control one might desire for some pieces and also it looks better on some woods than others, so ymmv).

    Watched all the steps along the way, and learned a lot of things that I want to apply to my own models. You have a very good technique for producing the videos and the techniques can actually be seen while you do them.... which means that I actually know what you did. I am getting excited to try some of the techniques on my next model... and frankly, I hate painting. So, for your videos to get me excited to try it is something. Oh, and the model turned out beautifully.... Thank you for sharing.

    Awesome Monstertank. I don't think I've ever seen tracks on a scale model that looked more realistic. I'll try my best to copy your technique soon ^^
    And regarding that "I have a live and won't be able to post a video every week" thing: Don't ever stress yourself into it. That's a thing I learned pretty quickly in my own time as a small UA-camr. Especially in a hobby like ours. Sometimes there are weathering steps that take so much time that it can be hard to motivate oneself to do them even without the additional video-work.
    Stressing yourself to make a Video for every week can lead to rushing those steps, work unclean and, most important: Not enjoying any of it, neither the painting of the model nor the video-work.
    So short: Always take your time when you need it ;) No excuses needed
