Oh, my aching back...having picked a few crops by hand (including hay bales), these machines are awesome. Bet driving that lavender picker is one really sweet job.

The lavender machine and the hay bale machine are not new or modern. They have been doing hay and lavender like that for decades.

0:15 Maybe this harvester would be “a perfect” (0:50) if it took up a wider area at once. Why do two tractors have to drive to the same place many times? After all, not even grain is harvested from just 0.5 meters wide at a time, but up to 10 meters wide in one go!

Are you a carrot farmer? Root crop harvesting is much more involved than grain harvesting, and it requires more power to perform.
Whereas grain harvesting only requires cutting of stems and collection of grain, root crop harvesting requires machines to dig out buried fruit, convey it carefully, and either store or offload it without damaging the product. Plus, root crops are much denser and heavier than grains. Even the largest potato, sugarbeet, and carrot harvesters only harvest a a maximum of 2-3 meters at a time. They fill up so quickly that it only makes sense to have a chaser vehicle (or several) to keep production moving.

      @@TheClassyArchitect Good explanation.

6:18 "Modern Machines" LOL. Why do the same apples have to be "kicked" many times in the wrong direction? The right direction would be if both arms had "apple-friendly" conveyor belts that take each apple in the right direction. Now, each apple gets numerous kicks before it ends up being collected. See how to spoil the fruit: 7:11 ...Some inventors think things wrong!

Are you an apple farmer? They’re cider apples, not eating or cooking apples. They’re harvested when they’re already on the ground at the peak of ripeness. They get pressed, juiced, pulverized, and begin fermentation as soon as they get into the processing facility.

yes, whoever built that wasnt thinking straight. also, the lavender machine and the hay baler have been used for decades like that, so they arent very modern machines at all. I think this video was just some stock footage of farms in an attempt to get views
