@29:31 The reason why the cars that you aren't following get faster is because traffic only spawns around the player. So basically when you follow another racer they get screwed by the traffic as well. The other cars take their optimal routes without dealing with traffic. Savo's route is actually the fastest amongst the AI you race, but there is another route that's considered the best
Man that was a journey and I’m glad I got to see someone play this childhood game again, I always loved how the last race finish line brought you right back to the beginning, it’s really poetic. Also you managed to beat the first paris race with savo which is considered to be the very hardest not just in MC2 but in many of the other racing games so you should be proud of accomplishing that. P.S when you play MC3 you should play the remix because it adds a bunch of new cars and challenges for you to do, it’s basically an upgrade to the original one
I don't know if it's the hardest though... But my playthrough of it was out of norm, since I ended up concluding Bryanston (The pink Escort) was the best car for me and just stuck with it to the end, including the Savo races. I find the last race to be the most annoying because of the length and the long straights.

My guy you did great considering that was your first time doing savo’s third race. However never let go of the gas in mid air with that game, the drivetrain of the car slows down with the engine so when you hit the ground the whole car slows down. Keep the rpm’s up and when you land you’ll continue to fly. Cheers bro!

After Tokyo the Torque JX become less and less effective (because of the turns and traffic) so when you go to Paris and Los Angeles, you should use the Knight (my fav car) and/or the Saikou XS because they have better handling. I think the problem with savos third race is that traffic always loads near you not everywhere on the map. thats why whenever you follow a certain someone he faces all the traffic while others dont. This is a game thing though so in order to win you have to make a near flawless run.

The AI can't handle the speed of the cars, which is why they keep crashing around you. The traffic is also generated around your area, so if you're not in an unordered race, the NPCs who aren't driving in the same direction as you tend to drive almost flawlessly and are often faster than you.

I forgot to mention if you ever get into modding for Midnight Club 2 on PC you can mod it a lot. I have some examples on my channel of how far you can push the game. I made every freeroam have cops and just removed the checkpoints from the race code to make it work just like Cruise mode. Helicopters too.

Who told you the game is over though, that ain't 100%, there's a second run on the arcade mode. If you skipping to 3, Remix is the same as DubEd just with more stuff, Remix is the better version to play. Those new PlumpDJs tracks and Tokyo are really worth it. The real life version of Savo's car is the Saleen S7, ain't a Lambo. Either one of them is also in MC3, got a couple of Saleen and Lambos to choose.

Dub edition remix is an upgrade to dub edition. More cars more songs and even tokyo as a bonus map but do start the career mode first then head to tokyo challenge. Good luck.

You do need to patch the game with the new server links, which is not hard. If you ever wanna know about that, there's instructions online, or just ask, we can explain how you can do that. But yeah, there's still an active community, both playing and making mods and new career modes/challenges. Not as big as your GTAs and your Fallouts, but you know... It's there, it's alright too.
