I don't think she's either to be sympathized or antagonized. Remember that this is literally just 100/100% self inflicting hell. It's how she makes up for it that matters. Just like the Kirijio Group, Adachi, Akechi, Hikari...type of situation.

I like Sumire much more now. She seems much more genuine now that she's revealed her vulnerabilities. She really does love Kasumi deep down despite her previous jealousy of her perfect older sister. I can definitely relate to that because when I was younger, I used to be jealous of how smart my little sister was with her grades. Don't get me wrong, I love my sister a lot. But as I grew older, I realized that there was no reason to be jealous and that I need to just be myself and stop trying to be someone else. When "Kasumi" was first announced, I felt something was off because she seemed a little too perfect.
She does reveal vulnerabilities for everytime you hang out with her as a confidant pre-Yaldy. Pay attention because some of her behavior like the batting cages, bento or odd depressive fits don't add up.
@Kira Diaz Yeah, that's not a good reason to like a character. Sumire eventually learned to not run away from a problem and I appreciated that. I do hate to admit it, but I actually like Violet's Phantom Thief outfit the most out of the female members. Although for cosplays, I'm not sure if I could handle wearing a leotard for cosplay due to how revealing it is.
@Kira Diaz I read a translationed text of her saying she ties her hair up like Kasumi to "remember Kasumi's memories" and to honour her. Plus, being a gymnastics, it would be easier to have her hair tied up.
