LET’S GROW! Thank you for another informative presentation. Could you do a video on separating pups from bromeliads and replanting tips please?

plants root faster in diffused light. when rooting anything, i use darker coloured bottles (blue, brown or green) and get roots very, very quickly :)

Fun Fact: Opaque bottles (like amber) also help to prevent algae growth, and I feel like the water evaporates less quickly compared to clear bottles. Both of those things combined mean you get a little* longer before it's time to change the water &/or clean the bottle. Having said that... I still get so excited being able to see the roots forming inside the clear bottles. If time isn't an issue, clear bottles are more rewarding, IMHO.

So, when propagating you don’t have to let the stem scab over before placing it in water or another medium? Every other snake plant I’ve ever propagated did very poorly creating roots without giving the stem a day or two to scab first.

Hi! We have had good success propagating our snake plants without having to wait for the stem to callus over (nor adding any root hormone). But the callus method you mention also works very well! 😀🪴

❤ I trust this man when he says it works for him, but I personally haven't had much success using the quick "chop & prop" method unless it's directly into a potting mix. These are succulents, and the moment I learned that, I began to treat them accordingly by allowing them to scab over, even if it's just for the night. For me, all I need is a bit of skin, not necessarily a callous. There is nothing worse than starting with high hopes only to later find an unsavable cutting.
However, we all know there's no one right way to grow. It works for him & it could very well work for you too. It just didn't work for me. I fall into the category of people who have a love-hate relationship with succulents. But then sansevieria came into my life, and they've evened the score a little more because I haven't killed one yet... well, aside from that one tiny waterlogged propagation mishap. Happy Growing ❤️
