heard him sing this live at Vienna Staatsoper, 1987. I was a singing student at the time. When he first came on stage I thought he was a baritone... and then he blew us all away... the audience went ballistic... the applause for his Improvisso must have lasted 10 minutes. An amazing experience!
Incredible voice,enormous,he is the best tenor voice.The voice,the interpretation,the fire in is voice like Del Monaco but without the squezzing of Del Monaco. Highs notes are so clear and strong . Really Fantasticoooooooooooo Bravooooooooo
His hair....After the performances in Frankfurt he and his wife came to Hamburg and I picked them up at the airport and brought them to the hotel. I smiled at Sally and asked: What´s with his hair? She laughed and said: You know Franco, he don´t care, too lazy, not important for him...
WOW! That was something! Just brilliant! The best tenor EVER to sing on the opera stage! Depth and volume of his sound are amazing! I prefer Franco over any other tenor any time of day and night! :D Bravo!!!!
Dopo essere stato tra i vincitori del concorso inernazionale per tre tenori "" ARTISTI DEL CORO "" indetto dal Tearto alla Scala successivamente all'ARENA DI VERONA, avrei voluto avere un millesimo della vocalità di BONISOLLI!!!!!!!!!!! E avrei toccato il cielo con un dito, ognuno si deve accontentare di quello che madre natura ti da. Leggo alcuni commenti che fanno quisquizie sulla vocalità di BONISOLLI. Qui siamo nel 90, dopo anni di gloriosa carriera affrontando repertori dei più disparati e pesanti, non e pensabile che la voce sia ancora verginale!!!!!!! Che diamine averne oggi di tenori che riescano tenere il confronto con questo grande artista. Ho visto e sentito in Arena tenori famosissimi grandi e grossi microfonati in ogni dove non si sentivano erano zanzare, e dopo un paio di recite della MESSA DI REQUEM non li abbiamo più visti. Li in anfiteatro si misurano le voci!!!!!!!!!! BONISOLLI un gigante contro i pigmei di oggi. Questo è l'umile pensiero di un vecchio corista. Cordialità

Attendo con ansia Kaufmann tra vent'anni. In alternativa, ci si può già consolare con Cura (...)
Concordo, aveva un'emissione tutta sua, sicuramente non sul fiato ( come ad es. Pertile o fleta, parlando di voci pesanti) ma la generosità , la passione e una natura vocale d'acciaio gli concedevano grandi risultati. Kaufmann e Cura a confronto sono comprimari.
You know, for me this is a difficult one, on the one hand I think it's absolutely faboulous what he does, really, awsome, but on the other hand, I can't stop feeling he's shouting in stead of singing.....but, still, he goes on the "I like" pile ;-)
Bonisolli had a great voice but always insisted on straying from the traditional and always adding his own personal touch. Franco was an exciting performer to watch as he sung with tremendous emotion and strength.

Because he knew he had a real dramatic voice, had no need to "soudn like", no problems with register, touching singing, so he doesn´t had to be care about his good looking like the metrosexual preferences of the audience for the singers of nowdays that are almost all just that: food for the eyes.

bonissolli resta un interprete verdiano magnifico ma tutto il repertorio verista eccede in grandissimi slanci di bravura
