Love seeing some Vlad, for some reason the biggest memory I have of Vlad is when they buffed his AD by 3 so you could last hit under tower way, way easier. Edit, I checked when that happened and it was 7 years ago, damn 😭

Personally, I don't think Aery is good on Vlad. If you go full AP, like you did, better pick Electrocute for the burst damage. R+ QE procs it and after certain AP and Pen oneshots squisies. If you go the CDR route and play him more as a sustain mage than a burst mage, phase rush is better, because it allows you to kite back. Aery is quite meh as damage and also I don't know if it applies on self-heal.
The reason for aery is the same reason u pick scorch into melee champs u can bully early. Cause if u trade a lot that damage wins u lane and in his elo games end faster then aery falls of really
Aery offers better laning , better minor runes and isn't far off in damage from only 2 procs which is very likely. Every keystone now has 5% ap ratio elec dsn't scale that hard either. That being said I am a bit surprised i would expect either phase rush with gathering or aery/scorch
Aery has been vlads best rune for a bit now, u take it for the lane presence as u have no need for extra scaling in ur runes when ur champ scales so hard to begin with. Helps get u thru ur hardest parts of the game and also swings a few matchups for u
@@wideout7838 I think aery doesn't fit Vlad's nature as a champion. His early game is probably one of the weakest in the entire game. Pre 9, his aim is not to get kills, his aim is to survive the laning phase. He is outranged by pretty much all mages and his damage is on the lower side. Vlad's weakness is his immobility, which you solve by picking flash and ghost, but phase rush is also useful for kiting. You can optimize for the early game though with flash ignite and electrocute as your ult amplifies ignite true damage and honestly full AP Vlad can oneshot people from 3/4 of their HP bar at levels 7-8. But this way you weaken your late game, as Vlad absolutely needs ghost to stick with people in the late game.
