You hit the nail on the head. I was doing both psd and TNT but was taking home less money so I stopped. It was messing with my mental health where sometimes I don't feel appreciated by the company. All the cost goes to the operators and benefits goes to the company
It’s crazy how big companies always keep the worker down. Just like our government taxing the shit out of every aspect of our lives so we never get ahead in life. Something has to change.
Very true! I was burnt when a trainee wrecked my truck! $12,000 in the hole! Also Prime should be paying the students not the trainers! That’s to much money! That’s why I stop training!
Well said I’ll drive for Ashley and watch a Videos and prime is just using y’all and that’s not right so I agree with you. It’s not worth the training somebody if you’re not making no extra money for doing it.
4 days of your time waiting for Prime to fulfill their end of a contract. Good thing about Prime is you'll always be grateful when you get with a decent company.
Thanks for making this video. Was thinking about training and have been collecting as much info as possible on it. Think I’m going to give it a try after the 1st quarter of next year. Hopefully the economy will be picking back up by then. Thanks again!
And you’re absolutely right about what training pay should be. For the amount of risk you take on there is no way a week of being available for dispatch should ever be anything less than $2500 net. That should be the floor. I’m clearing $5000 gross to the truck solo on 2300 or less miles each week. Why would I add all that risk and cost if the gross only ticks up a couple thousand at most on average?
Basically in the current market when the trainee is driving your not making any money. It’s break even at best. Your just paying salary, fuel, and truck maintenance.
That's an eye opener! Wow!!! Thank you for training!!! I'll be in there soon! I'm a bit afraid from all of the horror stories, but I'm focused on just getting all the knowledge in that I can!
I started my training with us express in 2003 the pay was was $350 a week no matter how many miles we drove for the week and training was 12-weeks. He was a company driver and we must of average 5500 miles a week from the 3rd week on. P.S. we got along well together and he bought my dinner like 3-4 times a week when we had time to seat for dinner. Best of times..
John C was here 🎉 I agree with everything well said. I believe things happen at the right times for one reason or the other. If something is meant to be it will happen down the road. Keep up the videos and stay safe and hopefully one day things turn around for everyone! You deserve a break too. If it’s meant to be it will happen at some point later.

Sorry but that is some top tier shit your gripes are valid man it sounds like a lot of money when things are running the way they should but like you said you got a lot of Expenses and should something go wrong intermediately goes in the red and you’re putting your neck on the line
I stopped training. It’s not profitable. I’m doing much better solo. It won’t force any hands. They do not care. They want the system they want. The way it is promotes bad training and non training because lease trainers are more concerned about running as hard as they can to make revenue to cover the wages and make a decent check. They don’t care if good trainers leave. They don’t even pay attention to it.
I don’t blame you for feeling like that I’ve been a trainer for a little over a year and a half I average around $1.53 per mile. The company pays my students 100% about $700 a week and I make profit on every mile that I drive and Student drives the last two weeks I averaged 4000 miles and netted 2500 there is no way I would train, if I had to pay the student wages because that is not your employee, that is the companies employee I don’t even understand how it is lawful for them to charge you for their wages the only benefit I would see is it being a tax write off, but even still you are doing a service for the company training their drivers it is not your responsibility to pay for somebody else’s employee
This is the reason I don’t train anymore and the last 3 students I had really didn’t want to be there so their effort was sub par And I remember telling you in a past video when they changed to pay that is wasn’t worth it due to the amount of revenue to the truck wasn’t there since I got my new truck I’ve averaged $1576 a week in my bank running solo the last 25wks No way I’m training for 1900 a wk needs to be 3k a wk
Yeah, It’s solo money. But the fact that you were still able to make nearly 2k for every week you were home can be considered by some people. I’m exploring other options. Happy coincidence dude canceled. I’m thinking about getting a pet. Maybe by the end of the year. Not negative at all. Just the reality at this time. I made good money on the 3 days I had my trainee (bad experience aside…). But not enough time to have an accurate assessment🤷🏻♂️

Thanks Rich

This was good, plus you seem like a senser guy, which made this video easy to watch.
I MISSED THE GOAT OF UA-cam. I WAS GOING THROUGH WITHDRAWALS
My fleet want me to be trainer and I told him if prime paying their student call me for it otherwise I don’t put any new students n my truck
$1988 net holy shit Jim F-That 😮
Yeah it’s not good. Wasn’t for me at least.
Do you pay them out off that ?

Don’t worry about topics. I enjoy following along on your journey 🤘✌️🤙
No my trainor was make the same and sometimes less than me and was in hole. It was interesting 🧐 But my first trainor made 76 cent.
76 cent isn’t good
The thing is, they should be paying all the training pay . Because they are not paying us to train them. Our pay is all the revenue to the truck.
They’ll never pay it all. They’ll probably never pay some of it.

Only 5 out of 22 weeks above $9000? Dude! Not worth it at all!

350 a week you can make more than that flipping burgers
It sounds like Prime has a good business plan.

If you feel that it is not worth the cost or risk, then why do you continue to train? Would it not force Prime's hand if trainers stopped training?

Prime is never going to fork out the 28%. I'd pay the $900 and them pay the rest. I'd train again if they did that

No I took out the off weeks to get that number. With the off weeks it was 1600 something.
@@jimc8802 oh dang! This is definitely an ad for solo trucking 😜🫠
I netted almost 3600 this week by myself. Beatrice takes her wages in getting pets and me sharing my bunk.
Why should I train?
There’s no reason to train with that and this market.
