I'm a Belgian Paramedic. I can assure you, that's NOT normal European driving style. This ambulance service has been convicted several times, fyi. However, the way we drive, isn't as slow as they do in the US, that's a fact either.

Angenommen, der Einsatzort lag auf äußersten Ende des Rettungsdienstbezirks, dann wäre der Durchmesser des Bezirks 20 km. So groß ist ganz Brüssel. Gibt es da nur EINE Rettungswache? Hat immerhin 1 Mio Einwohner, so viel wie Köln. Da gibt's aber etwa ein Dutzend Wachen?!
