It really started going downhill quickly when Obama promised to "fundamentally Transform America"
Yes, but the decline in society goes beyond America. It’s either a coincidence or an additional factor but it’s around the same time that everyone started having a smartphone with social media apps that spread bad ideas like wildfire. From Jorge Floyd to being trapped in the wrong body and words like colonizer, privilege, land acknowledgment, unhoused, newcomers, from the river to the C, etc, it’s all capturing the minds of the masses that used to live blissfully ignorant under a rock.
You can go back to Obama's friends in Chicago, who started in the 60s in the Weather Underground, and before that to the socialist German inteligencia who arrived as refugees and infected our universities, and taught those same 60s revotutionary WU students, and before that to the communists in the 1900s like Trotsky in NYC, spewing out political pamphlets before the Russian revolution, etc etc.
But yes, more recently, Obama cranked up the power of the institutions, subtly bending them to the authoritarian left. His legacy lies not in his folksy speeches, but in administrative maneuvers, reshaping the very fabric of our democracy.

Since 1989, 49 million net jobs were added under Dem administrations, 1.3 million under republicans. That discrepancy translates into higher DGP growth. Low crime tends to follow a robust job market. I'm a lifetime conservative. It's so refreshing to hear a couple leftist talk with common sense. I watched this entire episode. Thanks Adam and Tulsi for giving me hope in my fellow Americans.
The opening dialogue is talking about the metaphor of “die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain”.
And that’s not only a fault of the democrat party. It can be seen in most things that were born from good intentions that people corrupted and used as a means to an end.
It's a human inevitability, in every form we can think of. It's also the very best argument for less centralized control, since we know the rot of corruption always takes over every institution we create. Even in my younger days as a naive leftie reading Chomsky and The Nation, I always had a deep seeded feeling of cognitive dissonance to their fundamental argument: that the answer to corrupt governance is somehow more centralized governance. At its best, the left is a wonderful and necessary counter that provides good analysis of what problems may exist. The issue, as Jordan Peterson has rightly pointed out for years, is that their answers played out long term are wrong, and they have no idea how nor incentive to stop since destruction of the fundamental institutions of our society is their stated goal. What's happened to the DNC is what happens to everything we create. The only question is will we be able to stop the neoliberal agenda that grips both sides of our supposed democratic Republic...

She said she doesn't think girls should be wrestling boys but they always have. They had to let them compete since title 9. Because there is no girls wrestling team. I wrestled girls back in 2001/02 in high school and there was no woke back then.
