Thank you! This helped so much. I have tried playing with ornaments the last few days and have been frustrated with the circular shape so this video was perfectly timed. :)
I’ve always wanted to see how it look like when setting up personalized orders. Can you please make more video like this? Personalized items on how you would so it from start to finish up your listing to Etsy. From idea, implementing design, software/platform you use, uploading your listing, like mockup service you if any. Or do you just buy mockups individually as you need it. How you would add your proper Title, Tags, Pricing, etc. Thank you!
I can definitely do more content on creating personalized designs and listings! I use Placeit or Vexels for mockups unless it's a specialized product that they don't have templates for - if they don't have a template that looks realistic then I usually try to edit the Printify mockups to make them a little better looking. I will work on some new content for these listings!
Question about personal orders and printify. If I have lets says 50 to 100 personal orders in an ornament or even just making designs for my Etsy store, that’s a lot of on my printify under the my products page. Is there a way to categorize my creations on printify? Like a folder perhaps? So I can have a folder of all my ornament listings on printify?
Actually...I just got an email from Printify this morning about the metal ornament from Pic the Gift saying they removed the background colors option due to "discrepancies between the designed and the printed product". Looks like any existing listings will need to be republished because they will be printed with a white background only going forward. Thanks for mentioning this!
thanks for your content! I also sell on my own shopify store, do you how to do personalization option on shopify - the basic plan is all I have right now just starting out building my store.
Hi! I believe the process to fulfill a personalized order on Printify with a Shopify store is the same - they seem to recommend the same process on this help page: help.printify.com/hc/en-us/articles/4483630218641-Can-I-sell-personalized-products-using-Printify- But there is also a note about Shopify apps. It sounds like there are apps for Shopify that allow your customer to enter their personalization on orders. I don't personally have a Shopify store so I'm not entirely sure how that end of it works, but it looks like the order fulfillment part on Printify can be done the same way.
Just want to inform you that the price changes as well when printing on both sides. I’m at the personalizing part of the vid and it came to mind. I was designing a few of these and at the pricing edits, the price wasn’t the same as advertised and others were. The diff was the single print vs double. So the price increases if you print on both sides. Not by much but it does.
That's a great point! Good to be aware before creating the listings that the price will be higher with the double-sided print. I do like the ceramic ornaments from Imagine Your Photos too, even though they are only one-sided print the price is pretty competitive.
Hi! I used Kittl to make the designs, and they both started as templates. Kittl has a library of graphic elements that you can use to create designs from scratch as well as editing the templates, with commercial rights for print on demand use. I've been enjoying using it! You can use Canva graphic elements to create designs as well. I've also used Creative Fabrica and Vexels for print on demand graphics as well.
Hi, isn't there another easier way to personalize on Etsy? Only if you set the orders manually? This means that ALL orders will need to be manually approved, including those without personalization. I also don't understand what is happening with the SKU number of the product. When we create the "original", Printify creates the SKU number. When we then COPY the original listing, do the customization and delete the "original", does PRINTIFY create another SKU for the personalized item? I watched few videos about personalization and instead of being clear to me how to do it, I'm more confused, because each one indicates a different way to make it :(
I never understood why doesn't any channel care about that hole. You covered all my concerns except the mockup thing. As i see now there is only 1 template at placeit for round shaped ornaments.
This is just awesome!!!! Thank you for the clear instructions!!! xx

That's interesting. I don't get a background option when I use that particular ornament. Great video though, I always enjoy your tips.

Where exactly are you getting these designs to put on
