What is the trick to not getting a room full of smoke every time you have to add wood? I've have been cracking open the bottom door for a minute before hand, but still get smoke and sets off fire alarm.
Hello Marcis, Baffles increase efficiency, but this can decrease the draft, and cause some problems on the unit. The recommended for Pellet Duo: 100% - 15ºC 50% - 7ºC 30% - 3ºC Burning Off - 1ºC
All sales are centralized from PA. You can purchase online on www.mbtek.com You can make a free pick up or residential and commercial delivery option for about 150$ to MA.
I bought a Harman Flex 60 boiler pellet boiler in 2011 that ceased to be produced in 2015 It is connected in tandem with a state of Crown Freeport 3 pass oil fired boiler. It was pressed into service during ASSHOLE OBAMA energy debacle $4.50 per gallon of fuel oil and put on standby during the 2016 to 202O TRUMP energy independence years when fuel oil dropped to $2.25 per gallon It is not a rugged unit by any standard in 5 years I replaced consumables as Harman calls them which is a rip off since dating back 100 years or more ago the Pennsylvania boiler industry produces coal fires boilers that outlasted the coal age without needing to have any consumable replaced and in many NEW ENGLAND homes are still in service converted to oil burners. The Flex 60 only holds 4 /40 lbs bags of pellets, however it is nowhere near as dirty when in operation as is this model featured in the video because the feed mechanism is under the negative pressure of the exhaust /combustion fan. two motors only , the auger and the exhaust /combustion fan . The rest of the boiler is TYPICAL AMERICAN MADE GARBAGE like the one in the video. Dating back to 2012 while visiting friends in Italy I was introduced to a circle of their own friend who have been using wood pellet boilers that are absolutely clean and in addition have self cleaning features that were light years ahead of any AMERICAN MADE GARBAGE dating back to 2009 . These boilers have motorized baffles that spiral the ashes down from the fire tubes and a vacuum system that maintains negative pressure while another mechanism similar to a garbage compactor presses the ashes into a receptacle until a full sensor alerts the owner that it is time to empty it .Usually about 2 to 3 tons of pellets burned. I am a retired 45 year long career HVAC contractor disciplined in FUEL OIL< PROPANE< NATURAL GAS < KEROSENE. I have worked on boiler of all types dating back to the late 1890s Putnam, Repco , Dunkirk , Weil McLain , HB Smith , American Standard ,Arcoliner, Iron Fireman . TImken .Torid Heat , that is a short list . America used to manufacture top of the line long lasting equipment that needed hardly any parts replaced ...in 20 to 30 years of service . AMERICAN MANUFUACTURERS HAVE BEEN MAKING GARBAGE SINCE THE LATE 1980S AND WILL NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO PRODUCE THE EURPEAN MODELS UNDER LICENCE BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT AMERICANS WILL BY THEIR JUNK ONLY BECAUSE IT SAYS MADE IN THE USA ON SOME CHEAP ID TAG
What would you recommend? My boiler heats about 5k s.f. and is from the 70’s. I’d like to look into something like the products this company sells. The boiler uses gas to heat a baseboard water system. Any recommendations? That are more self sufficient. Thanks
Since 2020 how has the Boiler been ? Still Great?
