      I agree. Unfortunately many don't live long enough to get the recognition they deserve.

    Wow. That’s super impressive especially hearing of his 2 Navy Crosses, Bronze Star and several Purple Hearts. Then the guy goes to college after WW2 joins the army and goes to Korea and Vietnam before retiring as a Major. This guy was all-American stud hero.

    Probably the only pharmacy mate to be awarded the MOH?

      I just did a quick search and google said there have been 5 total pharmacy mates who have earned it, but one on the list wasn't accurate. The best I can tell it looks like there have been 4:
      Pharmacist's Mate Second Class George E. Whalen (World War II)
      Pharmacist's Mate First Class John H. Willis (World War II)
      Pharmacist's Mate Third Class Jack Williams (World War II)
      Pharmacist's Mate First Class Francis J. Pierce (World War II)
