Wanting to pickup one of these to mod. How's it feel playing with that button setup? I like the MK cab but think playing would feel more natural with the 6 button setup on the Marvel countercade.
Bro. You make it look easy I think even Zo can do this. Now if was doing a tutorial of apply artwork I would be scared for zo. Awesome video and thank you team encoders great work as always.
@ConsoleFanboy It always boils down to hardware. It's possible MAME is not well optimized in the way that it emulates the hardware. "Emulation" requires the recreation of hardware in software, if this hardware hasn't been seen or emulated and it's unique to that game and or cabinet it just hasn't been fine-tuned yet or there's something special about it, some things do math faster than others as an example, so trying to emulate something that does the math faster on something that does it noticeably slower is a big deal. Ultimately why is it so hard? It's probably unique and just not worth the effort not that it "can't be done". Good example... MAME doesn't emulate KI so well on lower-end hardware but CM made it run on something comparable to a Pi with their emulation software because their emulation software was finer tuned than MAME. The latest video by Modern Vintage Gamer is a great story about a guy who got Quake running on a Game Boy Advance... that's a good example of it boiling down to how something is developed vs whether or not it's possible.
I'm convinced in getting a countercade now. I might get the Marvel one since the 6 button layout is perfect for just about most games that use notable controller layouts (i.e. all 6 for Street Fighter style games and the upper row and lower left buttons for a pseudo Neo-Geo MVS setup).
Is there a way to add Maximum Hangtime to the arcade1up 3/4 cabinet and keep online play? Or at least update the Hangtime rosters and keep the online play?
@@mysteryencoder9997 I used a 8gb flash drive and everything worked well. I transferred the files to a larger 128gb flashdrive to add additional roms but it won't boot to batocera on the new flashdrive. Is there something additional I need to do for this?

Their website shows TMNT but I have the 1 player cab that doesn’t have an external USB. Do you think I can OTG to the micro usb and use the drive that way ?
I have the NBA Jam countercade, I downloaded the ZIP for the correct unit, but when I try to connect to the PCB, I get this message: "Waiting for driver install to exit before continuing.... if PCB is not detected and the other options are not automatically enabled, please disconnect and reconnect the USB cable." I've tried to disconnect the USB several times and it still stays the same. BTW, The NBA Jam game boots up automatically (and is playable) when plugged into the microusb port (Even though the "on/off" switch on the controller board is turned off) Is that normal? Any help is welcome.
@@christophertalmont3619 hey, I posted this on another video, and was told to try a different USB - Micro USB cable. The cable I was using at first was a much lower quality cable, so I got my branded charging cable from my gaming headset. As soon as I plugged in that cable, my computer connected to the PCB and it completed the update/upgrade. FYI, the newer/better cable did NOT power up the system and allow me to play the NBA Jam with the power switch off. It just completed the transfer, as I saw on my PC and then I was able to complete the rest with no issues. I loaded a few NES games, and some mame games. Some played well, but the vertical mame games cut off the bottom and top, so they didn’t work well. I know it’s possible to change the screen size in a typical retro arch setup, so that may not be an issue for someone well versed in retro arch. I was able to play a few 2 player games with my son, one NES and one mame, so that part works. I know it’s going to take a bit of tweaking to get it perfect, but I’m enjoying the process. Hope this helps. 👍🏻

Batocera boots and recognizes Roms, but starting any of them just causes it to back out within seconds to the UI. Any ideas? I'm using a 128 GB stick, is that too much? Also, how do I lower the sound on the Batocera front end? The speakers are maxed out and blaring but I see no option to turn it off or down
Just map player 2 with no coin and then map all six buttons plus start. Use player one to coin up and hot key if you want then play on the player 2 side. This will allow you to use all six buttons.
