A couple of clarifications. K-pop is simply Korean pop music. It's not so much a genre as it is a broad category of pop music covering a wide variety of sounds and genres. You'll find that with Blackpink alone, no 2 songs sound alike. Secondly, K-pop is not popular "in another country." It's a WORLDWIDE phenomenon, including here in the U.S. I recommend watching various YT documentaries. The one that got me started down this rabbit hole was their own original series "K-Pop Evolution." Groups I recommend reacting to (to name only a few) are BTS (the biggest musical act on the planet), Twice, Mamamoo, Everglow (my favorite), Stray Kids, (G)i-dle, Aespa, ATEEZ, Red Velvet and Exo. Also explore the 1st generation pioneers like Seo Taiji and Boys, Wonder Girls and BoA.

OH OH you about to go down the rabbit hole😆The key to your heart is Rosé, she’s a New Zealand born South Korean who grew up in Australia who at 16yrs old beat out 700 other contestants at a YG entertainment audition & started her career in kpop😎You should checkout her channel & her music covers😉
BLACKPINK (South Korean K-pop Group) Lisa - Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. Rose - Born in Auckland, New Zealand, and Raised in Melbourne, Australia. Jennie - Born in South Korea, Grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, and then moved back to South Korea. Jisoo - Born and raised in South Korea.
If you liked ROSÉ🌹1:54 for her beauty, believe me you will love her for her talent, she is the most complete and integral member of BLACKPINK, she is the main vocalist of the group, she plays piano and guitar professionally since she was a child, she is an excellent dancer, she is considered Korea's golden voice, she composed and wrote her own songs as a soloist, with only 2 songs she is the member with the most music awards of the group (33 music awards so far), she also speaks Korean, Japanese and native English, and her covers they are the most watched in the entire history of kpop, she is also a professional model and is the global ambassador of YVES SAINT LAURENT & TIFFANY & CO, and she is my bias (favorite) of the group.
BLACKPINK with 73.4 million subscribers on youtube is officially the artist with the most subscribers on the planet, BLACKPINK snatched first place from JUSTIN BIEBER 5 months ago.
ADDITIONAL NOTE 3 of them (JISOO, JENNIE & ROSÉ) are born Korean and another one (LISA) is from Thailand, but technically each of them born and raised in a different places JISOO : born and raised in South Korea JENNIE : born in South Korea, spending most of her chilhood age in New Zealand and moving back to live in South Korea ROSÉ : born in New Zealand (but came from a Korean family) and raised in Australia LISA : born and raised in Thailand but currently all of them pretty much livin in South Korea Here's each of their name based on the order of their appearance in this video - JENNIE (the one at 1:40) Role : MAIN RAPPER/LEAD VOCALIST - JISOO (the one at 1:47) Role : VISUAL/LEAD VOCALIST - ROSÉ (the one at 2:00) Role : MAIN VOCALIST/LEAD DANCER - LISA (the one at 3:45) Role : MAIN DANCER/LEAD RAPPER/SUB-VOCALIST Hopefully it'd be useful enough.... 🙏
You happened to find one of the best groups, not only in kpop but perhaps the whole world. Plus, they will be producing new music this year. First discovery is beautiful and I envy you my man.
About 2 years ago I started watching reaction videos and I kept seeing reactions to Blackpink. I had no idea who they were and avoided watching them for about 6 months, but finally decided to see what this was all about. I'm obsessed now! Like me, you're lucky you're starting this late in the game because now they have enough songs to react to. One complaint people have about Blackpink is that they don't put out enough music, which I agree to to a certain degree. YG, the creators of Blackpink decided that they were only going to release a low output of songs, but really no b-sides. I have to say, they have about 27 to 30 songs now and not one song is bad! I don't know anybody except for maybe Shania Twain that I can say that about. Most bands have 100 song repertoire with only maybe five good songs at best. Not Blackpink. I kind of think of them as a boutique band. You go into the store and there's not going to be a lot of things for sale, but everything that is for sale is going to be expensive and high-quality! See you in the rabbit hole!
5:04 “that one there…” that’s the group’s main vocalist, Rosé, pure Korean but born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, and fluently speaks english. We have the same bias 🥰
How You Like That is a pretty good introduction to Kpop. After hearing a couple Girls Generation songs years before, BlackPinks Kill This Love got me into Kpop and now I'm a Reveluv/Orbit
So I'd recommend, once you burn through the BlackPink songs, to hit up Red Velvet, then Twice then Girls Generation to understand where most of this started for us and then you'll get hit up by fellow Orbits and told to check out Loona. Enjoy.
This felt reminiscent of a couple of kpop groups from the early 2010's Girl's Generation and 2NE1. Not a fangirl of BTS but love one of their songs called ON. I actually have gathered a collection from around the world and could certainly make suggestions but in terms of popularity, that last one will do the trick. Especially since I have been lax on the international music scene in the last decade.
love ur reaction!! blackpink is the biggest girl group in the world right now. they broke many many records. u should react to “Kill This Love” by BLACKPINK and other music videos from them! they are amazing!! u should also react to LALISA by LISA from BLACKPINK (her solo album)! she broke the most viewed music video by a soloist, beating taylor swift 76M in 24 hours! lisa is the most popular and most followed idol. JENNIE: 1:40 JISOO: 1:50 ROSÉ: 2:00 LISA: 3:40
Welcome to K-pop in the 2000's, my friend. "This shit is bangin'" IS the proper response. It's a whole world for you to discover. You picked a good group to start with. They are the best. But there is a lot more. Lot more Blackpink too.
'Kpop' is: pop, rap, hip-hop, R&B, indi rock, bossa nova, ballads, jazz, pretty much ANY genre you can think of all preformed at its peak. I recently stumbled on an idol singer performing traditional musical theater and killing the role.
There is a lot more Blackpink to see. From reality shows, game shows, variety show appearances, Twitter, interviews, fan made videos, music videos, solo projects, concerts, world tours,... It's one thing to have a juggernaut hype machine promoting you,... but it's totally another thing to actually live up to all of that hype. Billions of fans around the world.
One of the things that few reviewers/reactions get about this song is that it is full of symbology and meaning (as are several of their other songs). This one has tons of Greek mythology in it. There is a reaction where a British priest reviews this song and explains (with the help of his sister, who is educated in the classics) a lot of the symbolism and mythology that is in this song and in the MV. It's really amazing the incredible amount of work and detail that went into the song and the MV - the colors, the sets, the costumes, the choreography - just about everything has some deeper meaning behind it.
Man now you’ve reacted to all my favorite things 😂 MCU, TVD and now Blackpink! They really are so phenomenal and rosé is my fav too, they’re all amazing!
You can turn on the caption to see the English subtitle for their music videos. BLACKPINK is taking the lead for girl groups right now. They are the most subscribed artist on UA-cam and the most followed female group on Spotify. They set 5 Guinness World Records in 2020 and another 5 Guinness World Records in 2021. Check out BLACKPINK Whistle and Boombayah, their oldest songs. 😎🙏
BTS, Jessi, Mamamoo, KAI, TXT, CL, Agust D (SUGA from BTS), Jeon Somi, Jackson Wang are some of my favs and all are amazing artists you should check out! The rabbit hole is REAL!
Hi, new here, loved this reaction! Welcome to kpop! High production music and visuals. Singing, dancing and rapping on fire. This is a very fun rabbit hole to dive into. Looking forward to following your journey, so many fantastically creative and talented groups to discover. Can't wait!

I'd say Kpop is more of an industry rather than a genre. There are groups like Blackpink, that mix elements of Hip Hop and EDM with Pop and there are other groups that mix other genres such as Rock, RnB, Latin Pop, Jazz, etc. Honestly, there's so much genre blending within Kpop, you never know what you're gonna get. Even though Blackpink is not my top favorite group (but they're in the top 5), I still think there's just something about their music that you don't find in other groups. The majority of their music is extremely catchy and there's a big level of ferocity. Sometimes when listening to a Kpop song, I'll think "oh this sounds like _____" or "this reminds me of _____" but that's never the case when listening to Blackpink. Not to mention, the girls are extremely talented and they have amazing personalities, there's nothing you can't love about them.
ohoho.. new subs here and yea, if you genuinely felt that excited from this song alone it seems like you really gonna fallin deeper into BLACKPINK's rabbit hole entirely 😂 btw in case if you interested in ROSÉ's solo project you might wanna check her mini album from the recent release: - ON THE GROUND : ua-cam.com/video/CKZvWhCqx1s/v-deo.html - GONE : ua-cam.com/video/K9_VFxzCuQ0/v-deo.html and here's a bit more varieties which gradually gonna make you getting more familiar with the sound of BLACKPINK's music in general: A couple more major hits: - DDU-DU-DDU-DU : ua-cam.com/video/IHNzOHi8sJs/v-deo.html - LOVESICK GIRLS : ua-cam.com/video/dyRsYk0LyA8/v-deo.html 2 English b-side tracks from their latest album: - LOVE TO HATE ME (color coded lyrics) : ua-cam.com/video/VE3i4_3fdA0/v-deo.html - CRAZY OVER YOU (color coded lyrics) : ua-cam.com/video/4VOMHN6M4Dw/v-deo.html some more individual stuff which gonna help you to differentiate each of BLACKPINK's member: - JISOO - YUKI NO HANA (live performance with CC/subtitles) : ua-cam.com/video/fjKRglnBr7A/v-deo.html - LISA - LALISA : ua-cam.com/video/awkkyBH2zEo/v-deo.html - JENNIE - SOLO : ua-cam.com/video/b73BI9eUkjM/v-deo.html 2 debut songs from their earlier career around 2016: - BOOMBAYAH : ua-cam.com/video/bwmSjveL3Lc/v-deo.html - WHISTLE : ua-cam.com/video/dISNgvVpWlo/v-deo.html 😎🙏🖤❤️
The one you like is Rosé (pronounce Ro-zay) She is the main vocalist and the lead dancer. Last year she released 2 solos called Gone and On the Ground (Masterpieces!) Pls will react next time to "Lovesick Girls" "Whistle" "Stay" "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" "Kill this Love" "As if it's your last" "Boombayah" "Ice Cream" and "Playing with Fire" but these are all just songs with MV, but they also have beautiful B-sides! One of my favorites is "Don't know what to do", but also "See u later" "Kiss and Make Up" (with Dua Lipa) "Hope not" and "You never know" (these are not all but a few of my favorites) Welcome to the Rabbit Hole^^ And if you want to check out more kpop Groups i recommend BTS Twice Itzy Stray Kids (G)I-dle Red Velvet Dreamcatcher Exo Enhypen (few of my favorites xD) Btw i love your reaction, since today you have a new subscriber^^
Her name is ROSÉ 🌹 (Like the liquor lol...pronounced Roe-zay). Her english name is Roseanne, but her korean name is Chaeyoung.. and she is our beautiful Australian vocal queen! (Born in New Zealand but raised in Australia). She has 2 solo singles written by her in full English. Check them out: 🌹GONE: by Rosé 🌹ON THE GROUND: by Rosé You will find that each girl has their own style. The name Blackpink means Pretty and Savage (also one of their songs lol). In some sense..each girl can represent a side... Lisa and Jennie are more on the Black side where as Rosé and Jisoo are more on the Pink side. But know they can all change those roles easily. 💕 ROSÉ being the vocalist of the group, her music is very relatable, emotional and timeless. 🖤LISA is the rapper and main dancer (basically like the best dancer to exist...shes very up there) but she is the IT girl. Very popular worldwide. Shes the #1 most followed human in the world on social media. She has 2 solo songs as well named (LALISA & MONEY). One is is korean and english and the other is full english as well. She is from Thailand but she was raised by a white Swiss father so she also speaks English fluently. I would consider Lisa's music very...in the moment. Whatever is popular now would have Lisas name on it. Shes extremely trendy. Then we have... 🖤JENNIE: She was born in Korea but raised in New Zealand so she also speaks English fluently. She has one solo single named SOLO which has both English and Korean lyrics. Her style of music has elements of enotions but very sassy. Jennie is considered an ACE... shes a great dancer, singer and rapper. She can interchangeably be any role in the group very easily. Then we have JISOO! She is the oldest member in the group so she tends to be very calm, easily going and proper. She is the only member born and raised in Korea and although she is trying to learn English she is still trying to learn. She understands it well already since the other girls speak well and constantly in English. But shes for sure full Korea and like the mom in the group. She tends to be a bit leadereque when needed since shes the oldest but i will add...Blackpink is one of the rare groups that chose to not have a leader. The girls decided to be equal with each other and its worked well because they truly are like legit sisters. Super close to each other, the fans and their families. Currently Jisoo doesnt have any solo single release as of yet but it was announced that it will be coming during the second half of this year so keep an eye oit for it. Shes a wildcard for me because we actually dont know what we will be getting from Jisoo or what her style may be. Im oredicting it will have a good message/meaning and it may be slow or like a ballad. But thats only my personal opinion. Hopefully you dive fully into them. I promise the roadtrip to hear and see more will be the most fun and entertaining youll experiece with us BLINKS. You will have our full support and be ready for your channel to blow up if you welcome us into your home more often. Please continue reacting and have fun with us! Enjoy 🖤💕🌹 Hope this helped some!!! Anyone else is welcome to let me know if i got something wrong or may add to the convo. :)
happy to see u getting into kpop! kpop is basically korean music and actually not a genre! its better to define it as an industry, theres a lot of different groups and soloists and each of them have different styles and concepts (blackpink is more of a badass group, twice - which is another girl group - has a cute and fun image, ecc;. kpop is very well known for the crazy choreographies, and their high quality production, especially when it comes to groups like blackpink. they speak korean in the songs, with some additional english. kpop is often split in different "generations", for example groups like blackpink, bts and twice are part of the 3rd gen and theyre basically the big 3 of kpop. about 4th gen I highly recommend stray kids, they have a really unique sound, txt, they are super versatile, and itzy, theyve had for a while a "be yourself" concept but now theyre taking a different way with a really badass image. sorry I kinda wrote too much, but I hope this helps :)
You are definitely going down a rabbit hole! I've been a Kpop fan since 2010 when Wonder Girls released, 2 Different Tears, and I can say, once you become a Kpop stan...there's no going back!! As far as a Kpop recommendation goes, obviously I'd say, check out 2 Different Tears!! or, you could check out Wonder Girls, Nobody. it's basically a Kpop throwback to Motown, and both songs have English versions. Just click the MV's that have "ENG VER" after the song title.
BLACKPINK SETS THE STANDARD as the most SUCCESSFUL KPOP GIRLGROUP and the BIGGEST MOST POPULAR GIRLGROUP in general and not just kpop in the "world" right now. They're literally QUEENS and that's a FACT. :)) they are the role models of every kpop girlgroups now especialy new ones. Blackpink is perfect when it comes to dance, singing, stage presence, charisma, swag and they're beautiful & multilinguals too. Please check out their song, KILL THIS LOVE, and DDU DU DDU DU next plss so excited to watch your next reactions with Blackpink
There are a wide variety of styles encompassed by the label of "K-pop". Some of my favorite K-pop groups are Twice, GFriend, Viviz, Dreamcatcher, Apink, Mamamoo, Itzy, Red Velvet, Oh My Girl, fromis_9, Rocket Punch, Kep1er, Pink Fantasy, Purple Kiss, Weeekly, and (G)I-DLE, but there are many more.
Blackpink is the most popular female EDM Hip-hop/Trap group in the K-pop industry nowaday. You should also check out their 'Kill This Love' official m/v and Coachella performance. Thx.
HOW YOU LIKE THAT achieved 86.4 million views in 24 hours on the day of its premiere on youtube, won the VMA for best song of summer 2020, won more than 14 music awards in Korea and is the song of a girl group (regardless of their nationality) with more downloads in 16 years and GLOBAL LEVEL, the song is dedicated to BLACKPINK haters and the music video is full of references to history, religion and Greek mythology, the best thing is that everything is 100% real now that BLACKPINK never uses cgi or green screens (with the exception of whistle which is their debut video).
Now, you'll be hooked. check out all their vids. Also, check out Bigbang, it's a boy group known as the Kings of Kpop. They are legends. Same agency with Blackpink.
This is a great song to introduce you into kpop. Enjoy your journey. Don't feel the pressure to pick a favorite group right away because there's just too many. Trust me though. You've just opened a Pandoras box for sure.
Kpop isn't its own genre. BLACKPINK is. Its POP music from Korea. Its special because its unique to Korea but its still POP. Teddy said it best in "BLACKPINK - Light Up the Sky" documentary on Netflix.
As long as you are having fun, pause as often as you like. Especially if you are expressing love to the girls! I think it is a great idea to rewind so the for is not lost

BLACKPINK with 73.4 million subscribers on youtube is officially the artist with the most subscribers on the planet, BLACKPINK snatched first place from JUSTIN BIEBER 5 months ago.
"No no no, it's over, no I want more!" hahaha. Another Blink joins the movement.
ADDITIONAL NOTE
3 of them (JISOO, JENNIE & ROSÉ) are born Korean and another one (LISA) is from Thailand, but technically each of them born and raised in a different places
JISOO : born and raised in South Korea
JENNIE : born in South Korea, spending most of her chilhood age in New Zealand and moving back to live in South Korea
ROSÉ : born in New Zealand (but came from a Korean family) and raised in Australia
LISA : born and raised in Thailand
but currently all of them pretty much livin in South Korea
Here's each of their name based on the order of their appearance in this video
- JENNIE (the one at 1:40) Role : MAIN RAPPER/LEAD VOCALIST
- JISOO (the one at 1:47) Role : VISUAL/LEAD VOCALIST
- ROSÉ (the one at 2:00) Role : MAIN VOCALIST/LEAD DANCER
- LISA (the one at 3:45) Role : MAIN DANCER/LEAD RAPPER/SUB-VOCALIST
Hopefully it'd be useful enough.... 🙏
Rose is the key to your heart. Pronounced with long a at the end.
Enjoy the rabbit hole. This one goes deeeeeep LOL
Especially since I have been lax on the international music scene in the last decade.
welcome to blinks family 💓
love ur reaction!! blackpink is the biggest girl group in the world right now. they broke many many records. u should react to “Kill This Love” by BLACKPINK and other music videos from them! they are amazing!! u should also react to LALISA by LISA from BLACKPINK (her solo album)! she broke the most viewed music video by a soloist, beating taylor swift 76M in 24 hours! lisa is the most popular and most followed idol.
JENNIE: 1:40
JISOO: 1:50
ROSÉ: 2:00
LISA: 3:40
Thanks for support Blackpink
Blackpink is officially in your area.
foodsé already his bias lol
New sub just for your first BP reaction ! Welcome bro!
Welcome to Kpop world!
Welcome to K-pop in the 2000's, my friend. "This shit is bangin'" IS the proper response. It's a whole world for you to discover. You picked a good group to start with. They are the best. But there is a lot more. Lot more Blackpink too.
Your reaction and comments were on point! The concept, the talent, the high fashion 👌🏼
'Kpop' is: pop, rap, hip-hop, R&B, indi rock, bossa nova, ballads, jazz, pretty much ANY genre you can think of all preformed at its peak. I recently stumbled on an idol singer performing traditional musical theater and killing the role.
Rosè ❤❤
We welcome you into the rabbit hole hahahaha
We can always count on YG's music. Their musics always got people hooked and then become fans 😄
You should watch blackpink guide 2020 to know them more ♥️
One of the things that few reviewers/reactions get about this song is that it is full of symbology and meaning (as are several of their other songs). This one has tons of Greek mythology in it. There is a reaction where a British priest reviews this song and explains (with the help of his sister, who is educated in the classics) a lot of the symbolism and mythology that is in this song and in the MV. It's really amazing the incredible amount of work and detail that went into the song and the MV - the colors, the sets, the costumes, the choreography - just about everything has some deeper meaning behind it.
rosé is my favorite too, she is a goddess, when i laid eyes on her i fell in love
Wait until he get's to Rosé's cover songs...
Man now you’ve reacted to all my favorite things 😂 MCU, TVD and now Blackpink! They really are so phenomenal and rosé is my fav too, they’re all amazing!
Being 51, I appreciate someone introducing me to something like this. Thank you very much!
My bias is Rose too. No doubt
Rosé is one fine queen
You can turn on the caption to see the English subtitle for their music videos. BLACKPINK is taking the lead for girl groups right now. They are the most subscribed artist on UA-cam and the most followed female group on Spotify. They set 5 Guinness World Records in 2020 and another 5 Guinness World Records in 2021. Check out BLACKPINK Whistle and Boombayah, their oldest songs. 😎🙏
Did you know?: In 2019, BLACKPINK released their own Monopoly set.
Which you can buy online.
The blackpink journey begins.....nice
Turn cc on you will understand the lyrics
BTS, Jessi, Mamamoo, KAI, TXT, CL, Agust D (SUGA from BTS), Jeon Somi, Jackson Wang are some of my favs and all are amazing artists you should check out! The rabbit hole is REAL!
You just found the deepest rabbit hole alive! Welcome to kpop...there is no leaving now!
enjoyed your reaction!! love it.
Ohhh nice, I subbed for TVD, and now BLACKPINK comes 😍
Hi, new here, loved this reaction! Welcome to kpop! High production music and visuals. Singing, dancing and rapping on fire. This is a very fun rabbit hole to dive into. Looking forward to following your journey, so many fantastically creative and talented groups to discover. Can't wait!
react to the DANCE PERFORMANCE of HOW YOU LIKE THAT with more than 1 billion views is the dance choreography with the most views in the history of youtube.
Not to mention, the girls are extremely talented and they have amazing personalities, there's nothing you can't love about them.
ohoho.. new subs here and yea, if you genuinely felt that excited from this song alone it seems like you really gonna fallin deeper into BLACKPINK's rabbit hole entirely 😂
btw in case if you interested in ROSÉ's solo project you might wanna check her mini album from the recent release:

Welcome to Blink haha see you on your next reaction to the Queens 👑
Welcome to Blackpink 🖤💗
BE READY FOR BLINKS SUPPORT .. LEZ GO!!!!!
One of my favorites is "Don't know what to do", but also "See u later" "Kiss and Make Up" (with Dua Lipa) "Hope not" and "You never know" (these are not all but a few of my favorites)
Welcome to the Rabbit Hole^^
And if you want to check out more kpop Groups i recommend
BTS
Twice
Itzy
Stray Kids
(G)I-dle
Red Velvet
Dreamcatcher
Exo
Enhypen
(few of my favorites xD)
Btw i love your reaction, since today you have a new subscriber^^
Yeah! BLACKPINK 🔥💖👌👍
Check them out:
🌹GONE: by Rosé
🌹ON THE GROUND: by Rosé
You will find that each girl has their own style.
Enjoy 🖤💕🌹
Hope this helped some!!! Anyone else is welcome to let me know if i got something wrong or may add to the convo. :)

So much enjoyed ur reaction and Blink's commented ❤️❤️❤️
What a good choice of a group to start kpop
The pretty girl IS rosé ,she IS the most talented one in the group pretty and her voice IS amaziiiiiiing
welcome BLINK !!!!
Welcome to Blackpink.
"The Album" is recommended.
I love each one of them for different reasons. This is THE girl band. Period.
thanks for wearing headphones!!!
happy to see u getting into kpop! kpop is basically korean music and actually not a genre! its better to define it as an industry, theres a lot of different groups and soloists and each of them have different styles and concepts (blackpink is more of a badass group, twice - which is another girl group - has a cute and fun image, ecc;. kpop is very well known for the crazy choreographies, and their high quality production, especially when it comes to groups like blackpink. they speak korean in the songs, with some additional english. kpop is often split in different "generations", for example groups like blackpink, bts and twice are part of the 3rd gen and theyre basically the big 3 of kpop. about 4th gen I highly recommend stray kids, they have a really unique sound, txt, they are super versatile, and itzy, theyve had for a while a "be yourself" concept but now theyre taking a different way with a really badass image. sorry I kinda wrote too much, but I hope this helps :)
Thx.
Please react to Stray kids - Maniac (stray kids is a boy group, one of the most popular kpop groups)
I can't believe there are people who still haven't heard kpop
I think it is a great idea to rewind so the for is not lost
they got no bad songs.. you gotta review them all.. they are HUGE! get their discography and review them all in a row..
Please reacting to Blackpink - Kill this love
