- After losing on the week end at Wellington Helston Athletic return to Barnstaple Town a couple weeks after losing 3:2 in the Helston Athletic cannot afford to lose if they want to win automatic promotion to the Southern League Division 1 South. Steve Massey is the commentator.

Always hard to judge in video. First penalty looked harsh. The second, from my angle, looked generous to a fault.

I’m inclined to agree with you about the bookings. Probably was a fair result but Helston looked more likely to get a winning goal at the death. If Helston win tomorrow evening then will win the league. Are you going?

Is it a little lack of confidence in yourself why you hide behind both an alias and keyboard.. ?
Your points; .. if you could see through your hatred and anger for me, I say on many occasions what a good game he’s having, right after i express my opinion about the booking, I say “it’s a shame he’s having a fine game” but booking was petty and unnecessary..
Your other comment is valid one too, reference “Why Don’t I do it myself then” well I have, and it was captured on Piran Films highlights .. when I stood in for the liner (Asst Ref) for a HOUR! At the Oldland v Helston game earlier in season.. I Loved it and it’s a tough job, I know because I also regularly run line for our ladies team and our U/18’s .
The laws of the game are well known, but there’s an unwritten one that’s widely accepted and respected among all officials at all levels, has being a very important one..
That’s “Common Sense” and I thought the Ref showed Zero common sense!
I stand by my comment about that petty and unnecessary booking..Helston had just found a very late equaliser, the joy and elation was there for all to see.. Our sub had been warming up for number minutes down in that corner, when the goalscorer ran over to him and all lads joined in the joy and celebration, he was a YARD on the pitch, not run from dug out, 10, 20 yards on to pitch .. he was down there, by Corner flag, when goal was scored ..
it was for me, petty and totally unnecessary, the ref used zero common sense..by the letter of the law he was correct, but my point was, it didn’t impact anyone or incite anything with him being in middle of celebrations.. it’s also a costly and unnecessary fine on the club..
Once again thank you for feedback, it’s going to be an exciting and rewarding end of season for one team..

If you know more than the referee, then let’s see you do the job. I get seriously peed off with your constant jibing at the officials. Just comment on the football ( if you have to🙄) let the officials do what you can’t, and control the game… without you poking your nose in.
