  • I use my Kimo 20v handheld chainsaw to cut up some old pallets. It did really good, it took 2 batteries to cut the wagon load in the video.

Yes, it was close to 70F Saturday. It was cooler and very windy today but it is supposed to be warm for at least the first part of the week. I'm surprised it did all that cutting off of 2 batteries. Have a good week!

Looks like the saw did a good job. I usually don’t cut up pallets I just burn them whole if I have to. Most of the time I have to take them apart with a hammer and pry bar so the wood can be reused. Take care, Ben.

If I had a place to burn them, I would.

I have an endless supply of pallets to the point that I could get away with burning nothing else if I wanted to. I originally started off knocking the pallets apart and then running the bits across my drop saw. I then changed to using a pendulum style jigsaw and I could get the slats off about 3 or 4 pallets per 1.9AH battery. I have since changed to using an 8" circular saw and I can now knock up a complete pallet in around a minute. The TCT blade on the circular saw means no sharpening and no oil. It is noisier but when it's so much quicker it's a small price to pay.

I've tried a sawzall, and it is slow. I tried a carbide blade on a circular saw and it worked good til I hit a nail. This saw works pretty good. It is slow enough that I can watch for a nail but yet not too slow. The TCT blade would be the best way to go to cut a bunch of pallets.

You are right, this is annoying hearing the chainsaw running idle while setting the pallets. I've used an electric chainsaw to cut down pallets in the past. It works great too, except for the electric cable to watch. I was able to do it indoors while it was dark outside. That is an interesting saw you have there! Thanks!

Corded tools are a pain, after using battery tools. I think this saw may be as fast as my electric chainsaw. Thanks for watching!

You have more patience than me . I'd use whatever saw I had close. Whether that be a cheap earthquake or the 372 or a Stihl with a longer bar so I didn't have to lean over so far.

I dont want to hit a nail with a good chain. This works pretty good. It isnt real slow and I can watch what Im doing. It works better than the Poulan I used to use. It wouldn't idle and was lean. Once I started it I had to keep it at full thottle lol.

How's she gin'? This is not a bad saw. I just did a review on one similar that we got for Nannie to prune shrubs and cut heavy weeds. It works great on the pallets too. Take care!!

Hey there Roger. That's a neat/handy tool to have in your arsenal. Very versatile and easy to carry around. How long does the blade last? It sure would b neat if all the various tools that require a battery could use a battery from a different brand so that you have to purcase expensive batteries for every separate tool one owns. It would be nice of companies would make batteries unversal in size and universal fittungs. That would be a great idea for a company to make adapters. I've seen a few adapters for Dewalt and Milwaukee batteries but Kobalt and a few others are not in that loop. Enjoyed a full-watch. Good seeing you again. Take it easy and enjoy the warmer weather. We're battling heavy pollen now and spring hasn't even fully kicked in yet. Don 👍🏽🙂 3/21/22

Good to see you! I have not used it enough yet to wear out a chain. It is a very small chain so it is not going to last long, like if you cut firewood with it. In reality is using it for pruning, it would last the average person for years.Yes it would be nice if batteries were universal. The pollen was bad here a couple weeks ago. Now it is rainy and cool

I'm not sure. I'm waiting on the logs to come in. I hope they have not gone up much.
