Honestly if Caitlin wants to play with them she should go for it. Ice Cube and the Big 3 wouldn't have offered 5 million if they weren't sure they would make that back purely based on her presence in the league. Caitlin, Angel, Page, Juju and a bunch of other young women in college ball are gonna make the WNBA massively popular in the next few years and they all deserve a bag
Cube missed an opportunity to send an offer to 2 college players, or heck, 2 college and 2 WNBA players a short term contract in the Big3. Instead he hopped on the Caitlin bandwagon, and now it's caused backlash he offered a deal to only Caitlin. She will bring in media hype, but could get smashed in these 3x3.. her male opponents will be faster and stronger, unless they have hush-hush orders to go easy and let her rain her deep 3 pointers. Ice could have offered to angel reese and others, I think he missed an opportunity
wnba will never be popular. they must get INFINITELY better at the game for it to be relevant. there are more skill in high school jv teams than the wnba.
Exactly. Rising tides lift all boats. Should Caitlin pan out in the W & become the female equivalent 2 Steph Curry, everybody gonna eat in the long run 💵👆
Current wnba players checking their ego will never happen. Have you heard these women? Least mature league in the world, and that’s an incredible accomplishment with how childish most leagues are.
@@SauceDarzell I agree with most of what you said, but I put Caitlin Clark in the Magic Johnson class of player, now we just need a Larry bird type as her foil in the W and they can save the league from the brink. Just like Magic and Bird did for the NBA in the 80's.
Since I am seeing this video after the game between Iowa and LSU, that game did exactly that. They had a viewership of 12+ million people and the NBA with LeBron in primetime had less than half of that at about 5.7 million if I remember right. So Caitlin Clark can raise numbers and has done so. If you look at Women's college basketball, they play in smaller arena's on campus, this year at Iowa the women's team played in the same arena as the men on campus and sold it out consistently, plus crowds on the road were much larger when Caitlin was there to play against that school. To say Caitlin wont draw numbers she already has and will continue to do so.
If you are a competitive athlete, who has already broken records, you want to brake more. Three on 3 will not give you that. So do you want full pockets now or your name to live forever...and ten years down the road her pockets will be FULLER breaking records...long game vs short game. Too many choose the latter...
@@patbenz4327 Yes, this. If she goes to the Big3 and does poorly it could certainly affect her value (and the value of women's sports), especially when it comes to endorsements. Gatorade or whoever else she reps will not want footage out there of her being dominated. Footage travels fast these days and everyone is watching her. I'm not saying that will happen for sure, but it's definitely a risk and something she should consider. A quick 5 million sounds great, but I would not say that there is nothing to lose.
Thousand percent agree with Rebecca Lobo in that Caitlin will be the driving force for larger salaries and better accomodations for the WNBA league wide.
@@yahinicvthe league makes more money by getting better TV deals and tickets sales, and eyeballs, their league is up for TV negotiations in another year, if caitlin significantly increases eyeballs and ticket sales, then the wnba will get bigger TV deals which leads to bigger salaries it's all dependent on caitlin living up to her hype if she can do that, the wnba will get a level better with everything, the nba was on the verge of bankruptcy after the 70's, magic and bird saved the nba by living up to their hype, not saying Clark will have that same impact, but if she lives up to the hype her impact can be enough to get these ladies bigger salaries, now more Clark's gotta appear to get these ladies those million dollar contracts they all desire, but Clark can help Jumpstart that process
I know a lot of people are looking at the money. But the Big 3 is also all men. I know girls play against guys in rec centers across the country but this is a different story. Are we really going to say that Caitlin Clark can guard a former NBA player? Those guys are a bit older but they're not that old. Or she can separate and get her shot off at 6 feet when she's going against guys who are several inches taller? Can we stick with guys playing against guys and girls playing against girls? I get the intrigue. She's a shooter. $5m is a lot of money (especially with the WNBA salaries). But money isn't everything. And she is making a ton in endorsement money and can do so long into the future. But I'd like to see her take a stand and say no thank you, I'm a woman I want to play against women. That would do more for women's sports and women's basketball than her playing against guys. In my opinion at least. And she doesn't have to take the risk of taking a quick check, and potentially losing. And losing hard. And then going to the WNBA without as much momentum.
Well said.. she’s a great player against women. The best obviously. But we all remember what happened to Cheryl Miller back in the day. The outcome would not be positive for her and the whole idea of women in men’s sports leagues.
This is why I'm saying she won't go. It will hurt women's sports. There are so many deluded people who think Clark, who is like 5'11, 140 pounds, can play with the men. She can't. She would be marginal in a high school boys varsity game, if that. This is not a legit offer, it is a TV stunt, it is a novelty clown show, it is the same as when Vanderbilt put that girl out there to squib a ball, or when that other college put a girl out there to kick a PAT, and when that girl "sacked" a QB in a college game. Clark will not do this, she is smarter than that.
It's all up to Caitlin whether or not to accept that offer, but if I was her friend, I'd advise against her accepting Ice Cube's offer. Sure it's more money for her, but she doesn't belong in a league with all men physically stronger and taller than her cause it's too easy for her to get accidentally injured by one of them. She's already earning millions just from NIL deals alone. So she's got enough money to live off of for the rest of her life bas long as she doesn't over-spend. She's got a boyfriend too who can also help provide financially for her if he wants to. So she's clearly not financially struggling.
No, she wouldn't be able to do that unless the WNBA changed their rule that disallows players from playing in two leagues in the same season. This has been talked about by WBNA ex-players and coaches.
How's the WNBA not going to allow their players to play in other leagues when most of them have to fly overseas in the off season to make a living? Let Caitlyn get her bag and play in the WNBA after.
The WNBA season and the Big 3 season is at the same time. They don't allow them to play for another league during their but in off season they can play anywhere.
Well this is also a new rule to prevent women from playing overseas and in the WNBA which most women do to make a living wage. Many of the euro leagues seasons overlap with the pre-season training campus. Lots of vets would miss conditioning but come back for games or even miss the first couple of games. The league thought it would be better to force women to stay in the US but there isn’t enough teams for the talent coming out so of course women will play overseas
Do the math, $5 mil compared to $70k per year. Cait has the leverage, as Indiana has already sold an increase of season tickets. Plus, the big factor, $5mil sets herself up for life! She gets injured at Indiana she ends up with nothing.
her net worth right now is 3.1 mil from endorsements. She’s a vacuum for offers and endorsements. In the next 18 months she’ll pass 10 mil net worth, even paying an average 15% to her agent.
@@diseasedpanda7418 how it works is, if corporations promise ad money to WNBA games, the WNBA can pay more, and I know they are promising more money. It's why Cube offered his money. You need to research how much money Caitlin has made TV thus far
Rebecca says she doesn't think Caitlin would seriously consider the contract. Why not? Even if she were able to negotiate a non-rookie contract and make the top WNBA salary of $205,303 from day #1, it would take her 25 YEARS to make $5 million. And it's way, way, WAY worse than that. After taxes, $5 mil is $2.7 mil. If she lives off of the $700K and invests the $2mil in a fund that matches the S&P 500, 25 years later, that's a shade under $20 mil!!! Now, I'm sure she's going to make millions in endorsements, but she'll make that either way. It's 10 games for $5 mil!!! She can join the WNBA next year if they refuse to let her do both.
Caitlin Clark's mind is amazing in the fact that she doesn't play the game for the money, she plays the game because she loves the game. She won't accept the deal because she loves the game too much to where she wants to see it grow even more. Ice Cube's deal, while entertaining and more financially beneficial from her. will not help grow the game, only distract it. I like that humble self of her. Don't take the deal, grow the game and revolutionize the WNBA.
It's got nothing to do with love for the game. She won't take the offer because unlike her fans she knows men and women's basketball are two different animals.
Team USA needs to make sure they put Caitlin on the Olympic Team. Everyone wants to see her play in the Olympics. Would drive the ratings through the roof!!
@@MrDarkBright you just being a hater. Right now women’s college basketball has more viewers than men’s college basketball. While Caitlin would have a huge impact, IMO, on the WNBA, I would suggest to her that she take the 5MM. Here are some reasons why: 1) the risk of a career ending injury from simply jealous WNBA players (although it's hard to imagine a lady ever being jealous of another lady and trying to deliberately do her harm), 2) the difference between playing college ball and moving to the pros. Okay, the WNBA isn't on a par with the NBA, simply based on the size and physical capabilities of the ladies when you compare them to someone like Shaq, Larry Bird, or Michael Jordan. BUT, the fact that of all the lady college players in the country, the WNBA has pulled the strongest, fastest, best means that Caitlyn will be facing a higher level of player on average than she's been accustomed to playing against. 3) BUilding a team like the one she's been playing with has taken years. Take for example: Joe Burrow had a solid team at LSU, with which he spent months practicing with during the off-season, and they did the impossible - an undefeated season and a national championship. His line protected him, he and his receivers could read each others' minds, and they ultimately became unstoppable. Not so much at Cincinnati. Then there's Tom Brady and Gronk and Edelman. Tampa built a team around Tom, and he delivered. Will the WNBA do that for Caitlyn? 4) How much money is any team in the WNBA going to be able to offer Caitlyn and if they came anyplace close to the 5MM offer, what is that going to do to the rest of the players? How much are they going to demand? SO, the short is this: Take the 5MM, demand a "no cut clause". Get the 5MM in escrow so that she gets it even if she never plays a minute of bball. Get all the outside endorsements she can, and make sure she owns ALL the rights to anything she does. No limitations. No requirements to push the name of the team she plays for, and no limitations on using the team name as part of her outside endorsements - in fact required remuneration for any association between herself and the name of the team she represents. But that's just my take. I could be wrong.

Current wnba players checking their ego will never happen. Have you heard these women?
Least mature league in the world, and that’s an incredible accomplishment with how childish most leagues are.
It’s the gayest league in American sports it’s not a knock it’s a fact and they won’t be very welcoming to Clark because she’s not like them
The problem with the WNBA is the product on the court. The Big 3 changes that. Clark to big3 will end the wnba.
@@SauceDarzell I agree with most of what you said, but I put Caitlin Clark in the Magic Johnson class of player, now we just need a Larry bird type as her foil in the W and they can save the league from the brink. Just like Magic and Bird did for the NBA in the 80's.
One of Caitlin’s March Madness games probably have more viewership and ticket sales from all wnba post season games including the finals.
She absolutely should do it. She has nothing to lose and everything to gain from that opportunity
It might backfire for women's basketball. Bcs people will see just how much better men are. They will completely dominate her.

I don't believe
that, in order for the WNBA players to get more money, the league has to MAKE more money
Rebecca is 100% wrong. Caitlin needs to take the offer which has absolutely nothing to do with the wnba.
You hit the nail on the head “not all money is good money”. She should only take it if there is a separate league for women
Well said.. she’s a great player against women.
I would take it + its just 10 games. Plus being able to play in the wnba
Right - rare to get your cake and get to eat it too.

@@rickytib they need to make some amendments to that rule.

WNBA doesn't deserve her more than Cube's offer.
Rebecca Lobo had some INTERESTING INFORMATION.
So @6:52 Rebecca is basically saying don't try to be physical with Caitlin like they would to other rookies because she's their meal ticket.
I think Caitlin Clark should take the offer.
She would make money and she would make history open up things for women’s basketball

The WNBA has to come through and market her. Who has more views right now between the two?
The max salary she can make because of the salary cap is $76,500 with bonus potential of $5,000.

She could get in on it as a smaller partner and give both WNBA players and potentially college players who didn’t make the W a place to make some money without going overseas (and getting arrested for taking their weed with them 😬).
She’s not taking that deal. She just gonna get embarrassed. She can make more money with ad and endorsements while helping to develop popularity for the wnba
She's literally gonna make 5mil on top of all the endorsements so your statement makes no sense
@jasonfondeur376
She would be playing with men tho would make her game look trash even for how great a player she is
Rebecca is super sharp on these matters. great to have her perspective
if she was my daughter she would've signed that contract yesterday and i'd be typing this on a new apple vision pro
brah what! 🤣🤣
You would risk your daughter's health and reputation by pitting her against massive NBA veterans just to get a new computer!
Take the $5 million, put the wnba on hold for a year, then go to the wnba draft.
Caitlin has numerous sponsors she's easily making 5 mil.
Not in 2 months. This is easy money
Big 3, 5 million plus endorsement deals
Not in 8 weeks your delusional Lol
No. She’s making $3 mil
You all don’t get it. She will get DESTROYED. Embarrassed on a level we have never seen. It would RUIN her image forever. She will make more money in endorsements playing with the ladies.
Love you Rebecca❤ you made perfect sense.
She makes 5 million from endorsements/NIL and will probably get even more endorsements, going to the WNBA is the right choice. Plus why would should want to play against some grown old men when she already gets a bag??😐
she can do both
Did Molly say she would do some things on the side for extra money?
3:01 that girl ragin lol
But the WNBA players can’t get out of their own way and let their egos go. Infrared of building up Clark, they tear her down.
Jay certainly has a way of over doing these segments lol
He has a flair for the dramatics
YES, WHAT IS HE BLABBERING ABOUT.
Give him a break I think this is the first time he's done anything other than Gameday since they broke up Max Jwill and Keyshawn - and JJ took over his place as the smart Duke guy on GETUP and FirsTake
@@averymott9609 get off your knees
Gotta stay on TV somehow. JJ has stolen his spot(deservedly too imo)
Never knew there was a 3v3 basketball league. Reminds me of NBA jam. Would definitely watch.
I watched it before COVID it's interesting
Don’t enter this years draft. Go get that big 3 money, go to the WNBA next season 5 million richer. Duh!!
If she doesn't take this deal, i dont wanna hear crap about WNBA salaries. IT'S $5,000,000 VS $250K !!!! WHAT TF IS THERE TO THINK ABOUT?!!
Caitlin Clark won’t have to take the offer because she will make 10 times that in endorsements while she’s playing in the WNBA. The same way Sabrina Ionescu makes bank off her endorsement deals.
I am not a basketball fan. Very few basketball I have watched in my life, but, I will absolutely be a fan and watch every game whenever she plays. She is so unique, that even a none basketball fan like me will become one
Why not? Ballers ball, she's the best female player I ever seen personally.
You’re crazy. Caitlin Clark is a Thug that taunts her opponents. ZERO CLASS!!!
The big 3 is 100 percent men… tf she gon do playing with a men’s basketball
She should go, it's for sure the WNBA will never accept her, just a bunch of jealous little babies.
Glad Caitlin bout to get that bag regardless of what she chooses
One is a Prada bag the other is a plastic bag by comparison
Lol wnba doesn't have a bag to offer
@@benguyton7933 she’ll bring more viewership to the wnba which will give her a bag regardless.. you think she wouldn’t be making money off sponsors on top of that? She’s already in commercials. Ur slow.
@@SammyBooy2814 there's significantly more money for her outside of the wnba. What makes you think endorsements don't happen if she goes with the big 3? I can see you're slow.
@@benguyton7933 Can point out to me when I said Caitlin wouldn’t get endorsements with the big three you moron? Why would she go to the big3 to be less competitive against men, when she can go the wnba and help everyone gets paid more…
Dumb offer for Cube to expand his Big 3 fan base. Clark can't compete in the Big 3. She is a woman. This is high level mens basketball. They will be blocking her shot into the stands. She is not Abdul Rauf.
Yeah but she will kill the wnba after that experience
nobody packing a stadium to watch Catlin in he big 3 because those men will dominate her lmfao
Men will pull up just to see that. So it will def pack a stadium
I'd go
@@HomerunsamSOSAit will be entertaining for one game, but it would get old real quick
