This is so delicious. My mom always made this for us growing up. She would use either red beans, pigeon peas or lentils. Now as an adult i make it often. Love it with green bananas, dumplings, white yam lol. Gosh my mouth is watering lol

It's not sweet chicken. The carmelization of the sugar & the oil helps the chicken to brown. A little goes a long way.
