All NHRA drag strips require various levels of licensing when running at 10 seconds and below. Maybe Cleetus has this, maybe he isn't licensed. I wouldn't know and he never made a video regarding it. Just because all the tracks he went to so far let him slide doesn't mean that trend will continue. Can't call it a surprise when he's given the boot.

Yup I just went on a rant about it I drove 2 1/2 hours to see him in the stick shift class because I can't drive all the way to Florida for cleetus and cars I work 6 days a week and a lot of others here were super pissed and mostly disappointed alot of kids

One thing that can make them be quiet is to get an extended tech inspection(ETI) from an NHRA sanctioned track. If you get that the officials have nothing to stand on to say your car isnt legal.
That's exactly his problem: Leroy wouldn't pass it. Rules are rules, and as crappy as they were about it, the Vegas track guys were right: No dash bar and no advanced competition license means you ain't runnin 8.49 or quicker at an NHRA track.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother going to Vegas next year, AT ALL. Without Cleetus McFarland Motorsports presence, easy bet they'll lose a measurable amount of spectators and revenue. I wouldn't have gone to Street Car Takeover in Indy last year, if Cleetus had not been there. LS Fest should consider relocating to a track that doesn't pull stupid crap like this.

If his car had met all the regulations the track wouldn’t have anything to argue with. He even admitted that there are things that might not meet regulations. Don’t blame the track because Garret didn’t do all that was required.
So either the track owner's ex-wife left him for a guy named Leroy, or someone had a lot of money riding on a car that Leroy would've annihilated. It is Vegas, so probably both.

The old school method was to block the chassis up and inch or two and let the suspension bear no weight and strap the chassis down. It's a little more elaborate but it does the same thing for the cost of a couple clocks of wood.
Admitting what?? The new rule they made up this time but did not mention last time? Don't just follow rules because they are rules. The rules have to make sense and be consistent. That tracks rules change more than Cletus changes his underwear.
And in the 7s, faster you go the quicker things happen. The regs are the rules and if you do not pass you do not pass the start line... that has been built up from years of previous experience and crashes. A number of people have pushed the 1 and done... but if something happens at the track and you are found to be lacking the Lawyers will have a feast with it.

He didn't get banned for no reason. The roll cage is registered for 8.5's, and Leroy is a low 8 high 7 car. The roll cage has to be re-certified for the speed that Leroy is making. Las Vegas Dragway are just a lot more strict than other tracks, because it's known as one of the fastest tracks in the country. Cars go to LVD to break records.
Yeah it's definitely a bad look for the track. A lot of people know nothing about Vegas motor speedway other than the officials are pricks. I'll pick a different event if I ever want to see them

The old school method was to block the chassis up and inch or two and let the suspension bear no weight and strap the chassis down. It's a little more elaborate but it does the same thing for the cost of a couple clocks of wood.
If you just strap the wheels down and let the suspension work it’s fine.

He didn't get banned for no reason. The roll cage is registered for 8.5's, and Leroy is a low 8 high 7 car. The roll cage has to be re-certified for the speed that Leroy is making. Las Vegas Dragway are just a lot more strict than other tracks, because it's known as one of the fastest tracks in the country. Cars go to LVD to break records.
