halo.. my mom's a cuban; she was raised listening to tango. and there are plenty of portenos who do not dance or listen to tango. so i guess there still is no absolute...which is a relief to me! --cuban/irish/german raised in nyc. ; )
Every time i watch foreign dancers of tango i dont like how they dance, but you are the exception of the rule. As a tango dancer i must say: perfect. from Argentina
I think Argentinians should not be arrogant by thinking and saying that only them can dance good Tango. Don't forget that Tango was born from the immigrants community..BTW, who is a native Argentinian anyway?A foreigner who dances Tango...
Maybe, but don't forget that the majority of the Argentinian population probaly doesn't even give a damn about Tango (which they see as something "dusty" and old-fashioned). So I am not so sure that they all are raised with the music, poetry, etc. In Tango classes in Argentina, people have to strive to get into the dance like in every other part of the world, Their only advantage is the higher number of milongas and teachers available and the fact that they understand lyrics 100%,cheers

Man muss kein Tangotänzer sein, um feststellen zu können, dass die beiden nicht nach der Musik tanzen, sondern ihre Schrittabfolgen machen.
