I am Kim...the Kim in the Video. The Monster was very early in the taping. We were the second day of taping. The show wasn't even on the air yet. I got called to be on it from a super password audition I went to. They told me to bring a friend or family member. The first day of taping was the first week of shows. The second day, was the second week of shows. They taped 5 shows (a week's worth) a day at that time. I don't know if they changed that later or not. So yes, we were the very beginning of the show. We taped in January and we didn't even know if the show would make it to the air. We had to sign an agreement that we would only get our winnings if the show aired. Needless to say, we were nervous not knowing if it would be on TV or not. We had no idea the show would end up running as long as it did.
I read some where that you didn't get the winnings unless the show aired and always wondered about that so thank you for confirming that. How long after you appeared on the show did you receive your winnings?
@@markheying2830 yep, I chose him. Like I stated in my other post, I had auditioned for another Game show and they called me for this one (which wasn't on the air yet). They told me to bring a spouse, friend or relative. Naturally, I chose my husband.
14:44 I'm kinda glad they didn't keep the lobster tank after the first season. Could've been a slip hazard if any water spilled onto the floor while people were running around.
Hi Matthew! I’m a journalist working on an essay about Supermarket Sweep ahead of the 29th anniversary of the ‘90s version of the show hitting the airwaves (on Feb. 5). I was hoping to interview some fans of the show to learn more about what they like about it. Please comment back if you are interested in talking. Thanks!
I'm going to assume this is from the earlier stages of the Market Monsters. I can tell by the graphics of the final total at the end. Instead of flashing different colors, they would flash on and off.
I wonder how long did they had the weird shopper gimmick, and what other ones they used besides this Frankenstein one? I know it didn't last long into the first season, but from past episodes, the other ones I've seen are "Mr. Yuck" as well as some turkey I think called "Big Dave".
And Kim & Greg have some sweet happy to be Partners company in front of their hands & noses while Kim is the happy to be having Greg be her teaming up to win the Big Sweep & the Cash together Partner Girl with her hands & nose!
Please tell me you have Cathi & Kelly vs. Yoli & Nancy vs. Teri & Roy. I had extreme buffering while recording it. Also Cheryl & Mo vs. Teri & Shelley vs. La Shawn & Tina?

Thank you for the info. I always enjoy learning the behind the scenes tidbits of filming.
@@StoryofkendraAlso do you remember if Kim chose Greg as her Partner before the start of the Show?
@markheying2830 On the show, she states they were married for 7 years so I assume so.

Dude really loves his wife ! He kisses her like 100 times !
Old school love !
That's awesome !
Kim & Greg have some sweet happy to be Partners company!
Oh good lord, they even got a Frankenstein monster in this show too? Guess you gotta fit in the Halloween gimmick somehow.
I thought I had dreamed a Frankenstein monster being on this show... but it's true. He used to be on it. Glad I haven't flipped my lid completely.

Yep...and in a real supermarket, *that* can lead to complaints...and maybe even some pink slips!
It’s a long long time since we had another 1990 episode added on.

I wonder if Greg still has that hairstyle.
haha nope he doesn't, but we laugh about each other's hair back then.
@@NauticalbutNice Greg must've really wanted to win that day. He was getting tired by the end. 🤣🤣🤣

Johnny joins the countdown on the *dot*!
John Lee
Nothing he hasn't done before.
It's Mr yaak's brother Frankie Frankenstein
Aaron Wallace
Mr. YUCK. And this season had a LOT of different Market Monsters. Rumor has it a gorilla was among them.
I meant to say Mr Yuck but I accidentally said Mr yaak as in the cartoon Network show
