You're discovering why selective grazing doesn't work. Smaller area, more moves, non selective even severe total graze, full recovery. Spent a few years trying to do the Judy method and never could get them to take one bite only or 1/3 or 1/2 ... Instead they took some species down to the ground, others half, some one bite and others they didn't touch. Trampling made a mat the grass couldn't get much light through. Made the transition finally to UHDG or Total Grazing and it was so much better, it actually worked. Who knows how it will turn out in a few years but one method I never was able to do it how they said it would work, and the other worked immediately.

I seem to be doing pretty well with the Judy method. It's really all about paying attention to what the cows are doing. I will probably try more aggressive grazing in the future, but for now I am going to rely on 3-6mo stockpiles.

The sheep game yt channel has some amazing sheep sorting teck with smart ear tags ect. You can process hundreds of sheep no hassle

I'm going to check them out. The profit margin for sheep is so good that it makes sense to invest in tools to handle them.

Some regen guys only move sheep paddocks and load for harvest. NO other handling!

I would love to get to this point. If I aggressively cull and move I imagine all the parasite and hoof issues will disappear. I have heard Greg Judy say to NOT touch the lambs when they are born, especially if you have a bunch of lambs born at the same time. There's good chance the moms will lose track of them!
