Not voting virtually guarantees a conservative (Republican in US) government - that's what Dave was speaking on. Conservatives are all about what their name implies... keeping the status quo which 99% of the time is them continuing to get richer and you to stay poor. Especially if you are black/asian/working-class/immigrant these people are also generally institutionally racist.

24:54 when he said "You" and pointed at the camera, he was talking to the audience to gang members. He switched the topic there. In the UK being "active" means, you are on job stab/kill opps etc. He was basically saying all these gang members are saying they are active and do all these things to impress women, when dave at his age was more focused on getting money and grinding and his priorities were different to theirs, such as getting properties in Pakistan (Properties are long term investment), basically saying Dave thinks for the future, whereas these gang members are just living in the moment

He is talking about the youth, especially from minority backgrounds that understand the problem and complain about the system but all they do is hop on twitter instead of signing petitions and voting.
As for the referendum it was voting for the UK to leave or remain in the European Union. Many young people wanted to remain because it means better job opportunities, makes studying abroad easier and going on holidays to other european countries cheaper and less complicated on top of making their degrees valid in other countries. But many young people didn't bother to vote despite brexit affecting them the most.

If I'm correct, then Dave is still independent and not signed to a label. He knows his worth, and that's part of the reason as to why the industry hasn't corrupted him. He does not want to sign to anyone else other than himself.
He has got labels, it’s hard work bring independent he just has leverage over his contracts, v smart.
