Which other lost films come to mind for you? What about films that were once deemed lost but now have been found? Is Bulgasari a film you'd want to see if you could? Thanks for watching!
Huh, I didn't know there was an earlier one. I've seen the North Korean 1985 "Pulgasari" and if you can get around the unfortunate circumstances of its production, it's not half bad as a historical kaiju in the Daimajin mold. You could even argue that the story is tweaking the dictator who got it made, though I doubt he detected the irony.
I..I really hope someone finds and gets this film released to the public. Its looks awesome! I've seen almost no big monster movies and ever time I see clips of them, I want to see more of them because they always look incredible. I have absolutely no idea how I haven't seem more of them or even played the Godzilla games growing up. I swear part of my brain loves monster movies so much, from the old Universal to seeing Godzilla a few years back to being in love with the Hellboy movies and I really want to see more kaiju movies. So what if the special effects aren't that good, I wanna see this film. I have a bizzare intreast in lost movies. It somehow always makes me want to look for any info on them. As an avid fan of lost video games, its really annoying to find something really cool to but never be allowed to play it (one day ff7: before crisis, one day).
The Godzilla movies - the best of them - are genuine treasures, and even the worst ones are usually good fun too. 😁 I would easily suggest the classic Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters, and Ghidorah The Three-Headed Monster. The Gamera movies are good fun too if you don't mind a cheaper-looking approach to the Kaiju genre 😁. It sounds like your interest in monster movies is a bit like mine, knowing you'll enjoy them but it feels like a gap in your viewing (the Universal monster classics are a massive gap in my own viewing 😅). Also yes same, I'm very curious about lost media/cinema, it makes me want to see the film so much more, and it can feel so unlikely that it'll be found until maybe it's rediscovered in the most unlikely of places. (I'm now going to read about this missing Final Fantasy game) 🤯
@YouHaveBeenWatchingFilms I don't think you need to see every classic Universal monster movie but there are some just incredible movies in there. Dracula and The Werewolf of London are two of my favorite films ever (Frankenstein is good but it was weird watching it after reading the book). Bela Lugosi is still my favorite Count Dracula even over Gary Oldman's incredible performance. Unfortunately the movies started to get too silly for their own good by the 50s even if I do adore Abbott and Costello meet the Invisible Man. It's probably why I really love the bizarre 2004 Van Helsing movie and tie-in game...and why I love Castlevania now that I think of it. I'm definitely going to check out the Godzilla and Gamera films soon.
I don't feel so sad when I discover that so-and-so film has been lost. It's estimated that 75-90% of all films from the silent film era are lost forever. Which ones of those many hundreds from a century ago or longer are seriously missed today? There are so many films remaining, with dozens now being slopped out each week as streaming fodder, that the value of such cultural product can't help but diminish dramatically with time. Many younger people won't watch older films or balck and white films - silent films, forget it! I recognize that this will be an unopular opinion, but it is honestly how I feel about "lost films".

An insatiable appetite for metal? Hell yeah! Siri, play Cannibal Corpse.
Huh? Not that kind of metal? Oh. Never mind.
Cannibal Corpse could easily write a banger about Bulgasari 😎

@@YouHaveBeenWatchingFilms after watching a bunch of Godzilla movies over the last 5 days or so, I can confirm I love the genre
So glad to hear that! 😄
Bulgasari means starfish in Korean
