@@Soliye. i still think that TMUF was one of the best games. After Maniaplanet. After playing a bit of TM2020 and trying the builder. i don't think i like it very much at all.
What also was unique is that the map editor had limited amount of stuff you could place, and every medal you got in singleplayer increased the max limit you could place.
Wow, just wow. This is the game I played roughly 17-20 years ago. Some neighbour installed it. I was around 6-7 at time with no knowleadge of english. I never knew what game it was but I always wanted to find it again. For the past 3 years I've been watching Wirtual and Trackmania community suspecting nothing. The moment i saw this video it all came back! Kinda ironic that I've been watching the game i was looking for a long time already. Thank you Wirtual and thank you Trackmania community for everything you do.
I just want to say Wirt, I have never played a Trackmania game in my life, but I absolutely love your content. Perfect way to get home from work and just chill on the couch. Thank you for what you do.
i think i speak for a lot of us when i say that i'd love to see you play through the old trackmania campaigns! sure, it would be a long project to undertake, but it's always extremely interesting to see a good player and important content creator revisit the old installments in the series! it would be fun to see your reactions to the old nadeo maps and see how your skills compare against these now decades-old games. i think you should go for it!!
Play through all the trackmania games! I got to see coverage of all the other games and a little studying of tricks that people have learned throug the years in each car and environment throughout the series!
I remember getting this game in 2003 for Christmas. I was a massive fan of Stunts game. I spent days building weird tracks and then sharing them to my friends by burning a collection of maps on a CD. I just... and that soundtrack... that goddamn soundtrack
Me too. This is so similar to Stunts. Definitely the predecessor to Trackmania. I spent so much time with Stunts building track and commically trying to jump over the sides of the map to reach the scenery. My 8 year old self thought the scenery in the background was reachable if only I could make a jump high enough to get over the bounderies of the maps. HAHA! Games were magical back then!
This brings me back to my TMUF days. I absolutely loved all the different environments and the challenges they all brought. I think playing through TMUF and its star campaign would be a good challenge that we'd enjoy watching!
This brings back so many fond memories and im all here for it. I'd really like to see you play through alll the trackmania games. That would be a massive but such a cool project.
This is the real Trackmania. Glad to see it alive ^^ I've never played a lot of Trackmania myself beside this original version. So I'm very happy to see you play it and hope to see a bit more. especially the Snow- and Castle-Environment. (Always felt the canyon-part a bit off with the car being sooo wobbly. ^^)
What a trip down memory lane. I can't believe this game released 20 years ago. I used to play ESL on Snow and Rally back in the day. Even though our team wasn't top tier by any means, it was an insanely fun time.
15:23 The whole ordeal with analog keyboards vs controllers and digital keyboards thing really reminds me of the hitbox vs controllers and fightsticks argument in the fighting game scene. It might be interesting how this sort of problem is tackled in different contexts.
My god the memories... I've not played most TrackMania games released over the years, but if they are actually putting more of this OG stuff into TM2020 I will definitely go hard on that finally. Stadium just isn't my thing 😅
Rally is coming in April, Desert is coming in July, so we'll have remakes of old campaigns in TM2020, and track using three or four environments at once, it's going to be very fun.
Trackmania Sunrise is still my favorite one. The whole aesthetic of the game is just great. One of my favorite things is the day/night cycles with the brake light trails, so satisfying to watch.

I would gladly watch you play through all the TM games honestly. I know there's just so many of them that I'd love to see but I don't really see myself actually playing them all

Thank you for those nostalgic moments! I used to play it as a child and I loved building tracks. Never used it to beat author times, just to have a good time and this soundtrack gives me goosebumps 😍
Okay so we’re talking about a TM game from 2003, yeah? I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since it came out in 2004. Never in my entire life would I think that the two would cross over, but here I am with a man in Wirtual’s chat jokingly asking about the difficulty of Tindral Sageswift in the RWF (race for world first) for the current WoW raid that just came out recently. What a crossover.
"What's kinda insane is, even in 2003 they had a replay system." I'd like to point out that "Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit" allowed you to save replays and ghosts back in 1998. >.>
one of the memories, Saturday evening, wife, best friend, and Trackmania until Monday morning, and then everyone went to work, haven't played since then
Wild to see this and instantly recognize the tracks I played a few years later in Trackmania United Forever. I played that game for 2 hours a night for about 6 months somewhere in the 2008-2010 timeframe. I was such a need I would talk over ham radio with friends while playing it, and I was thebonky one that could get a few author times on tracks. Once I got my first I grinded for hours and had probably 15 of the stadium author medals. I lost all those in an OS reload though, and being in my 40s now the author medals are a lot harder and only picked up around 5 of them a couple years back.
Wow this was the most intense dose of nostalgia. THE game of my childhood. The desert soundtrack is burned into my brain. Pretty sure it was running on loop in my head 24/7 back then.
Man, I remember seeing this game being presented at the Games Convention in Leipzig pre-launch. They had problems setting up the demo on their exhibition PCs, so a few installation CDs for the demo (which featured limited multiplayer before the game's official release) were just lying around there. My friend and I took one of them, not realizing they weren't meant to be public until about a week later. The fun we had in the demo, and then the full game, was unreal. We made one of the first popular "Press forward" maps (called "Calculated" back then). I feel old now.

Tindral Sageswift (or T-Swift) is the penultimate boss in the current Raid in World of Warcraft. The high streaming numbers for that game right now are due to the Race to World First. T-Swift has proven to be an exceptionally hard boss, with the top two guilds losing against the boss 435 and 399 times respectively before defeating it. That is a lot so there was a slight discussion beforehand if it should be lowered in difficulty, but ultimately the WoW devs in conjunction with the top guilds decided against it. The race is still on-going on day 9 with both top guilds on the final boss.
I had an R4 card and trackmania ds was one of my favorate games even though i had alot of others to play, seeing virtual play it to make my nostalgia happy would be nice
This was my first ever TM game and I loved it. I was a kid and saw it at the school book fair and brought it with me on summer vacation because I didn't know about pc specs. Enjoyed every bit of it as a either end of elementary or beginning of middle schooler. The only reason why I stopped playing it was because a friend stepped on the game, but I got smugglers run out of it
Trackmania Original was hugely influential on me when I played it as a kid. Got me hooked on the franchise immediately. And I kinda miss the times when they were campaign-based releases rather than the eternal subscription-based esports version we got now. Anyway, you need to check out/revisit Trackmania Sunrise as well. It's an absolute crime that the environments from that have been forgotten.
"Getting *EVERY* Official Author medal in *EVERY* Trackmania" would be a kickass video to watch. IDK if it's like 2 hours solid of edited content, or broken apart to make like 10 or so 15-20 minute videos (more uploads, more money) but I wanna see you do that.
It'd be really cool if you played through every TM game, I think a lot of us have never seen most of them
i remember playing a lot of them. i missed DS, WII, and nations.

I don't think you should play thru all of them in one go. But over time it could become an awesome series on the channel for a while!
This was my first ever TM game and I loved it. I was a kid and saw it at the school book fair and brought it with me on summer vacation because I didn't know about pc specs. Enjoyed every bit of it as a either end of elementary or beginning of middle schooler. The only reason why I stopped playing it was because a friend stepped on the game, but I got smugglers run out of it
This game is a big part of my childhood. Lovely to see Wirtual to play it. :)
7:35 - Ah yes that wonderful American landmark of nature: "The Great Canyons"
Trackmania Original was hugely influential on me when I played it as a kid. Got me hooked on the franchise immediately. And I kinda miss the times when they were campaign-based releases rather than the eternal subscription-based esports version we got now.
Anyway, you need to check out/revisit Trackmania Sunrise as well. It's an absolute crime that the environments from that have been forgotten.
I'd be very interested in a marathon through the various TMs
"Getting *EVERY* Official Author medal in *EVERY* Trackmania" would be a kickass video to watch. IDK if it's like 2 hours solid of edited content, or broken apart to make like 10 or so 15-20 minute videos (more uploads, more money) but I wanna see you do that.
Maaaan, i fucking loved that game! The Map-Editor was fire!
I started with Trackmania Sunrise but seeing some of these old environments from before that is so cool
Trackmania 2003 was the first trackmania game i've played! Heck I even Drove to the edge of the canyon map and went out of bounds!
10:23 Wait, the first TrackMania had car destruction?
I don't think you know how long I've been waiting for this content 😁
This was my first ever videogame!
I’m so nostalgic for this game, the main theme is so cool lmao. first racing game I ever played
