Cool. I wish I could go there again to chase their F units. The funny thing is when I went, it was a day or two they were gonna do their yearly run and sadly that was the day we were leaving Houston :/
I’m afraid that’s not possible, since none of them are operational and none of them have an air compressor hooked up to them except for the Texas & Southeastern #12.
If you’re willing to pay the money to that, then yes. Plus I’m not driving all over the country to those places, they got some distances between each other.
When did they start replacing cord-pull bells with pneumatic ones? I figured by the time ATSF 5011 was built that pneumatic bells had been in use for decades.
*sees the clips with the bells being rung on 5011 and 724* Ya know @Arkansas Locomotive Works, I have been meaning to ask ya: Whatever happened to that video you did for of your visit to the National Museum of Transportation in St. Louis? I can't seem to find it anywhere on your channel for some reason. :/
@@ArkansasLocomotiveWorks Ah. I can understand ya doing that anyways. Though know this... heh... I did like it because of course naturally... you didn't forget the one and only Frisco 1522 there. ;)
Does the engineer have to pull that string about 45 times a minute during the whole ride, or does the bell ring automatically sometimes by the movement of the train's boiler in action.???
Worst bell ringer, it's a tug not a pull. You want the bell to swing free so it can ring. Just tug to only keep the bell swing, not a pull until you hear it.
I don’t know why, but I just crack up when I see that Waffle House behind 382
Same 😂😂
Me to lol XD
And Taco Bell!
Lol same
KeithFox when?
4:17 I'm in love with that Steam engine bell!
3:03 that sounds IDENTICAL to East broad top 15s bell
kinda I guess
That bell is beautiful
I miss these old school trains:)
2:36 My favourite one.
Awesome! I rang 5011's and 724's bell once
good for u
Ahhh, 5011, ringing her bell is one of the highlights of the MoT
2:53, that's gotta be the smallest smokebox door I'd ever seen!
Dang, that’s small!
@@EasternMichiganProductions that is how number 13 was built that way
@@jobhowie1110 I know
Russian locomotives also have small smokebox doors.
5011's a hard pull, needs some grease in the pivots so it could swing a bit easier.
I think the cord is to short
Yknow what would be weird
Seeing a steam engine with an e bell
*or a ace with a boiler*
Eww
It would also be cool!
3:25 Awesome! It’s Air Compressed Where Is It At?
Diboll, Texas.
I Wanna Go See This Engine
2:57 my favorite bell 🔔
3:24 yay! Compressed air powered whistles! :D
Are their anymore train engines that do this?
2:37 that was my favorite Steam engine bell!
3:03 sounds Like Saginaw Timber Co # 2
Illinois Central #382 is what Casey Jones drove in the old days
yep
Good luck seeing it bro. I saw that locomotive too back in 2012.
@@angelaisingioro5832 I can't see it I'm in Ohio it's in Tennessee
rip 5011's bell is *w e a k*
Might have foam on the clapper so it isn't soooooooo loud
It has something on the bell 🔔 so it’s not too loud
4:56 Um..... Isnt that the bell on K&L's GM 2-10-0's?
I have been inside the cab of the SP 314, idk why but it's fun ringing the bell of that trains ;-;
why are you acting like im judging you lmao
@@ArkansasLocomotiveWorks Cuz, reasons ;-;
Awesome video!
I just love getting the chance to ring the bell on a steam locomotive
Same here m8
True
I did at the museum near by my house
And I’ve actually gotten into the cab of southern Pacific 314!
Cool. I wish I could go there again to chase their F units. The funny thing is when I went, it was a day or two they were gonna do their yearly run and sadly that was the day we were leaving Houston :/
You’re not the only one who got to ring the bell on 314
My favorite is the one at 4:16
2:41 its southern 4501,s bell
W.T. Carter Lumber Company 3’s bell sounds just like D&RGW 315’s bell
What’s the songs name playing in the background 4:02 when 5011 is sounding her bell?
Back on the Chain Gang by The Pretenders.
the first bell is used on a usra mikado addon for the minecraft mod immersive railroading
nooooo dont tell me 😱😱😱😱😱😱😵😵😵 i am ded not big suprice
Do you know what would be a cool Bell to ring at the St Louis Museum of Transportation???? 🔔🚂🚃🚃
You can ring 5011s bell there
Love to hear the bell from 573
I’ve been in the cab of Southern Pacific 314

0:07 OMG ITS THE STEAM ENGINE FROM THE GAVESTION TX TRAIN MEUSEM
ATSF 5011 clip needs to be redone with a better bell ringer.
No her bell is loud So they put tape on it
How would they do if repaired to excursion operation at the Museum
Wish the Pere Marquette 1225 was there to ring.
3:24 HOW CAN THAT STILL WORK AFTER A WHILE????
Air pressure
Texas southeastern 13's Bell 2:56 and whistle 3:26
W.T. Carter Lumber Co No. 4 sounds like D&RGW 315
So, I was wondering if I could use some of these bell sounds for a theater production my school is doing?
You should try blowing all the whistles of all these engines in the next video, that would be cool to see
I’m afraid that’s not possible, since none of them are operational and none of them have an air compressor hooked up to them except for the Texas & Southeastern #12.
@@ArkansasLocomotiveWorks you sure, could be a possibility
If you’re willing to pay the money to that, then yes. Plus I’m not driving all over the country to those places, they got some distances between each other.
@@ArkansasLocomotiveWorks ok, that's understandable
I think there’s something on ATSF 5011’s bell so it won’t hurt people’s ears.
U might be right I’ve been thinking about that
I have a train bell #2622 any information on the train thank you
Did I hear Milwaukee road 261’s whistle in the distance behind 382?
No
Some Of Those Bells Looked Like They Didn't Wanna Move
When did they start replacing cord-pull bells with pneumatic ones? I figured by the time ATSF 5011 was built that pneumatic bells had been in use for decades.
I when they started building bigger steam locomotives, pneumatic ones became standard.
Great video! Well done.
Thanks
Cool I have rang the bell of 5011
Coolio

Was the camera placed on a tripod when you rang those bells on the steam locomotives?

Some sound creepy, some sound like a church bell, some sound like a bell that you can use in a big restaurant or buffet😱😱😱😁😁😁

Why is #5011’s bell if muffled?
If I remember correctly, they muffled it a bit so people’s hearing wouldn’t get damaged.

not really
Do you just go right in?
@alexfarrell5533 Depends if the display is open to guests. Don't climb on random equipment if it's not allowed lol
Atsf 5011 is the bigger steam train
First bell sounded like Kettle Moraine 9
How come bells sound different when the locomotive is under steam?
the best trains are real They don’t

Go to strausburg railroad

Is there a way of turning on a locomotive’s headlight?
Normally an Electric Dynamo. For static display, i think the just plug the light into something
