This fight is just so damn good. It's my favorite anime fight of all time because we see Raven's character coming full circle. Close combat, no shields, and he goes straight for the head on each of them. It also proves once again the Geno Saurer's are no joke unlike in NC0. The way they keep their distance, constantly pressure him with their conventional weapons, and fire off particle beams with discretion and good timing. The pause in the music when the second one charges the beam, and then Raven's theme coming in full tilt as he charges through the attack and destroys the Zoid in one shot is just the cherry on top. The fact that Raven avoids using the particle beam shows just how much he knows about the Zoid itself, in a close quarters 3 vs. 1 fight he'd be a sitting duck. He tanks what he knows the Breaker can handle, and tries dodging what it can't.
shadow was such a warhorse! he was easily the most badass organoid in the series - he was capable of pushing himself WAY above what he was supposed be capable of in order to support Raven to the point I think it kills him at in the end? Remember it being a very heartbreaking scene and one where Raven finally realises just how much Shadow means to him after all those years of seeing him as a tool and nothing more. Pretty strong stuff when you consider Raven and Shadow had been the antagonists for so much of the series
@@GreenMan19961 Zeke's upgrade was him gaining the quicker abilities every Organoid has. Shadows was how long he could upgrade a Zoid which came into play with the Genobreaker. Zekes was improved maneuverability/response time.
Unlike a lot of villains turned anti-heroes turned heroes, his arc felt earned. He started out wanting revenge on Hiltz after realizing his whole life was ruined by the red demon's actions, but somberly accepted responsibility for his murderous bloodletting during his travels with Reese. I like to think he joined Van after some soul-searching in order to bring down the last of Hiltz's men and army. Sort of a probational sentencing. God, I read too much fanfiction in high school.

Zoids are generally better units than Gundams in the terrestrial environment. The Genobreaker is actually really hard to move and isn't exactly very maneuverable due to it's size, but Raven being Raven makes this seem like a non issue. Other than that, the Genobreaker is fast, is strong, has a wide array of weaponry and independence, and most opponents aren't going to survive, especially a charge particle gun.
Man this fight is soo much more badass than when Vega "fights" the three Geno Saurers in New Century during the Royal Cup Tournament. Raven can kill anything, I love it.
Well I think there are two reasons for this. First is this is the showing of Raven's will compared to showing how powerful Vega and the Fury were. On top of that, thanks to Raven we know how powerful the Genosaur is first hand, so seeing three here actually gives us a sense of dread, compared to New Century, where it was just "Hey! Look at these Zoids! They're SUUUUUUUUUUUPER strong! Trust us!"
Pretty sure Vega would've killed those 3 Geno Saurers too if he was living in Van and Raven's era, it's just that the world in New Century Zero era isn't at war and Zoid battles in those times are more of competition than fight to the death.

I enjoyed both series but New Century pilots just don't seem as developed compared to Chaotic Century. Something Leon touched on via dialogue when he challenged Bit to a battle against the Blade Liger. Maybe if we got another season for New Century that'd change. It did end right when Bit was about to start class S. But both series ending where they did I've got to agree with you. Put 3 competent pilots that aren't just sitting ducks in the genosaurers and who knows whether Vega would pull it off based on what had been demonstrated up until that point. Especially if instead of in the open it were a ambush situation like that. Vega relies a lot on his shield. Though that could be from confidence in the shields ability to hold it leaves very little variability in his movements. He's got one main dodging pattern where he lays low to the ground, but he never got the opportunity to demonstrate what would happen if an opponent recognised the move and just aimed a bit lower.

My greatest complaint in the end of the series is that she basically was reduced to a cheerleader. That annoyed me so much - but then again, maybe that's because she's always been a favorite character of mine, personally. I actually, many years ago, had an idea for an altered version of the end of the series, and this scene in particular, where instead of 3-v-1, this fight ended up a 2-v-2, but I never wrote it...might have to do that now.

Zoids Wild Zero is okay... but they never really did bring back Zoids the way Chaotic Century and New Century did. The Geno Breaker paired with Shadow is one of my most favorite Zoids and Raven as an actual pilot brought out the best in its potential. No deus ex machina, Super Saiyan convenient power meta. Raven was a sick pilot and given the appropriate partner to do the job. Still waiting on an adult-themed Zoids (Gundam Thunderbolt/ 08th MS Team-like) in the future. There's so many things they can still come back and focus on in Chaotic Century.
Zoid Japanese version has a blood on his face when Geno Breaker are heavy damage by mass production of Geno Saurer but in American version doesn't have any wound on his face
Well, you might need it against that one, sure. But for most other zoids, save for Ultrasaurus, Mad Tunder, and other zoids of a similar level, you barely even have to consider the CPC. because the base specs of the Geno Breaker far surpass most others in most regards. Being one of the strongest Zoids in it's size class of that timeframe. Organoid or no, Geno breaker is one hella nasty Zoid to go up against. I sure as hell wouldn't wanna fight one.
You know what pissed me off the most about these eps? Reese, who is a damn good pilot in her own right and has an Organoid to boot, is not doing a damn thing. If it were me, I'd've had her and Specula hijack one of those three GenoSaurers and whup some butt right alongside Raven. (Pity she got sidelined like that, as IMO she's cooler than him)

It's not so much that he was holding back, it's the first time he's fought with a genuinely conservative attitude. He does not expose the Geno Breaker or Shadow to vulnerable situations by trying to use the charged particle beam or compromising the Zoid's body for a "winning blow" like how he tried both with the Saber Fang, and again repeatedly with the Geno Saurer. He's fighting smart to endanger Shadow and his Zoid as little as possible, hence Reese's frustration with him not "winning". The fact that he gets fed up with his opposition and head shots three Geno Saurer's one by one shows just how efficient of a pilot Raven is, even when he stops acting recklessly with his Zoids simply because they're powerful.

As I understand it, Ambient revived Raven's destroyed Geno Saurer, which is why Raven's "second" Geno Saurer has a red inner frame as opposed to the purple of the original Zoid.

well it's easy to imagine because the berserk fury is Shadow and the liger zero is Zeke. in the manga after van defeated the second Deathsaurur both the blade liger and the Geno Breaker were damaged beyond repair. but Dr.D had been working on two Zoids based on Ancient Zoidian design. the liger zero and Berserk fury. how ever they looked different then as they had their true forms then liger zero was know as King Cesar and the fury was known as Shadow fury and resembled shadow. that's what I know for sure. my assumption is the organic systems in the fury and liger and zeke and Shadow, after their respective owners passed I assume they ended up merging with the cores. and that's why they are the way they are in new century Zero with bit and vaga.

Raven should have killed Van when he had the chance. But then again I assume he did right after that photo shoot after they won. I hit kill all. Hah! And considering Van had help most of the time. He's still no match for Raven if he didn't hold back as much when they fight.
By the end of the series they are very closed, Van exceeded the capacity of the Blade Liger that needs improvements because for Van it was slow, and he beat the Death Stinger without an organoid and the Death Stinger used one

I doubt the Berserk Fury's CPCs would do much damage to the Death Saurer. Its thick armour shrugs off most attacks and it has to be stationary to fire it.

Shadow didn't even upgraded yet like Zeke went through when blade liger is getting rusty for van too use cuz van is getting better as a zoid pilot

sadly zoids went downhill in fuzors..but GF and CC were easily the best, Raven is the best pilot to this day.

well it's easy to imagine because the berserk fury is Shadow and the liger zero is Zeke. in the manga after van defeated the second Deathsaurur both the blade liger and the Geno Breaker were damaged beyond repair. but Dr.D had been working on two Zoids based on Ancient Zoidian design. the liger zero and Berserk fury. how ever they looked different then as they had their true forms then liger zero was know as King Cesar and the fury was known as Shadow fury and resembled shadow. that's what I know for sure. my assumption is the organic systems in the fury and liger and zeke and Shadow, after their respective owners passed I assume they ended up merging with the cores. and that's why they are the way they are in new century Zero with bit and vaga.

Raven should have killed Van when he had the chance. But then again I assume he did right after that photo shoot after they won. I hit kill all. Hah! And considering Van had help most of the time. He's still no match for Raven if he didn't hold back as much when they fight.
No. Raven is known to underestimate his opponents and that's what often leads to his downfall.
By the end of the series they are very closed, Van exceeded the capacity of the Blade Liger that needs improvements because for Van it was slow, and he beat the Death Stinger without an organoid and the Death Stinger used one

@SeriousGamer2009 Berserk Fury is an overwhelming zoid as it can fire 3 CPC at the same time and can totally wipe out death saurer w/o a sweat.
I doubt the Berserk Fury's CPCs would do much damage to the Death Saurer. Its thick armour shrugs off most attacks and it has to be stationary to fire it.
