This movie was surprisingly very funny. You see how depressed Ryan Reynolds got after Samuel Jackson assassinated the person he was supposed to be guarding.
The movie is actually correct. Eye witness testimony doesn't mean anything unless it can be corroborated. Even then, without physical evidence, it is pretty flimsy. People forget things, they misremember things, and sometimes they just intentionally lie. Testimony only matters if you are an expert on a subject, if you knew the people involved personally, and if you have nothing to gain.

Yeah but hearsay has a legal definition. Hearsay is when a witness reports on a statement that was said by someone. They can't do that, because the statement they're referring to wasn't made under oath. A witness saying what they saw has no relation to hearsay. Its probably admissible. Its up to the other side's lawyer's to attack the credibility of the eyewitness account.
@@phedden97 That is true, but usually most eyewitness accounts are backed up by at least a little circumstantial evidence to show that the witness isn't merely making things up or confusing one person for another. Not really a requirement, but it's still commonly done (to my knowledge). And this court isn't in the USA, so there's likely different rules. They might even require physical corroborating evidence for witness testimony to be admissible.
@Enigma6344 it's not hearsay, it's direct evidence, but it _is_ incredibly unreliable in comparison to a lot of forms of circumstantial evidence. A person's vision and memory can both be unreliable.
@@phedden97 hearsay's a little more complicated than that: it's an out-of-court statement _used as evidence to prove the truth of the matter asserted._ For example, if, in a murder trial, a witness says "I heard the defendant (or someone else) say he (or someone else) killed that guy," that is hearsay, but if he says, "I heard the defendant say he wishes that guy was dead," that wouldn't actually qualify as hearsay because it isn't enough to prove the defendant killed the decedent and would probably be admissible. I _think_ (and this may be just trying to rationalize the film) that the defense's objection wasn't necessarily to what he experienced, but to naming Dukhovich as the guy running the camp, because he never actually saw Dukhovich there, and that _might_ be considered hearsay, if you really, _really,_ stretch it.

Almost every international action movie should be sinned because Interpol does not carry guns, make arrests, and mostly work as an information go-between for law enforcement.
You are right about the hearsay part. A first hand account made in court is just as valid as anything else.
Eye witnesses maybe enough in America but in Den Haag where the biggest cases in the world are handled you can’t be found guilty for war crimes just by some eye witnesses
Gary Oldman using Russian ascent just giving the Reznov vibe back 😂..
If I gotta ask for you to sin the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or (1999) Sleepy Hollow, I'm gonna throw a fit Jeremy!!
Nobody cares.
Everyone knows a proper Haiku should always end with "It's snowing on MT. Fuji."
Game Grumps are the best
Love this reference to them
It's snowing on Mt. Fuji
